With every long day that the imperial misadventures continue abroad, and for every time a citizen falls below the poverty line in the long and protracted class war within our own borders, it becomes imperative to foment resistance to the government, and to consider our local region's future sovereignty as a new republic. Every year in celebration of Spring's reawakening, we gather for the annual AGITATION PARTY for CASCADIAN INDEPENDENCE. Artists, DJs, militants, and friends of the revolutionary ORAC label gather at Holocene in a multi-media dance club milieu for one purpose: to party in celebration of our shared unbelonging. This is our shared future as Cascadians, and to love it, we will celebrate our community and our culture and, above all else, dance. Party like it's the end of the empire, and eternal springtime in our nation-to-be.
ORAC roster mainstays Solenoid (whose ORAC cd/lp "Supernature" drops in May) and Caro (coordinator at ORAC's Seattle HQ) will perform live dance music. Our friends Frivolous (live) and DJ Safety Scissors (from the breakaway regions of Quebec and San Francisco, respectively) will join us as special guests. the H and-2-Mouth Theatre Squad provide the setting and video will be provided by The Wizards. And, it is possible that the Cascadian Knights, mystical defenders of the Cascadian border lands, may make one of their rare time-travel appearances to bring us their techno-troubador accounts of the coming war of independence....
