sub-merge & Infinite Connections present POLYPHONIC
First Fridays @ CHAC Lower Level

June 2nd:
Kraddy Refiner Records/kraddyodaddy.com (www.kraddyodaddy.com) (SF)
Known for his intuitive ability to carve beats out of the bits, Kraddy (Matthew Kratz) has made a name for himself internationally as a producer and a DJ. His releases on Muti Music, Bless Records, Blunted Funk, Ghost Dog Recordings, and his own label, Refiner Records have set him apart as a producer with a truly extra-ordinary sound.

Kraddy's unique tweak has taken him from his home in San Francisco to LA, NY, Portland, Seattle, San Diago, Maui, and even earned him a headlining slot at Trigger in Birmingham UK. He has shared the stage with Tipper, Freq Nasty, Krafty Kuts, The Freestylers, Terry Hooligan, SOTEG, and Bassnectar. He has also been featured on NuBreaks.com, BreakinAsia.com and Cnet.com as well as being reviewed by XLR8R, URB, BPM, Undercover Magazine, Mofo, and Bay Area Buzz.

Kraddy's music implicates cybernetic breaks with asymmetrical dub delays and hip hop grooves with dark ethereal melodies. At times his music is technical and frenetic, and calls to mind images of genetically mutated eartworms, popping and locking deep underground to sub atomic frequencies, causing minute shifts in the structure and alignment of the techtonic plates, that over millenia will alter the magnetic core of the planet and thus change its frequency field steering its evolution towards greater harmony and a more peaceful form.

Other times he weaves together webs of moody etheresque clouds akin to the sounds of alternate life forces manipulating hydrogen and carbon molecules into biomechanical nanobots that imperceptibly permeate the neuronets of sleeping subjects from light years away in a methodical attempt to preserve and record the neural, synaptic, and chemical makeup of all matter.

Local Support by:
Michael Manahan Oracle Gatherings (www.oraclegatherings.com)/michaelmanahan.com (www.michaelmanahan.com)
Michael Manahan, innovator and mainstay of Seattle's underground dance music community, produces music and events as nourishment for the soul. Hailing from the burgeoning San Francisco house scene of the early 90s, Michael rode the wave of positivity to Seattle and as UFO, co-produced the original northwest full-moon celebrations lasting 5 years, spreading the joy of music and connection with nature.

.......In 1993, Richard Sun inspired Michael to found the collective, A.T.O.I. Seattle (Ambient Temple of I-Magi-Nation), continuing his search for deeper meaning and relevance in everyday life. As a group of individuals dedicated to furthering consciousness, A.T.O.I. Seattle produced events and ambient rooms as artful experiences encompassing all the senses. As the A.T.O.I. Seattle collective grew, its members' paths diverged and a core group emerged called Starseed.

.......The focus of Starseed remained true to its roots with the exploration of consciousness that integrates with everyday life at the forefront, and Michael was a guiding force in producing the now legendary environments/gatherings that were Starseed. Inspired by Starseed, numerous production/collective groups formed up and down the west coast, including Seelie Court, the effect of which is still being felt today.

.......In 2001, members of Seelie Court and Michael Manahan joined forces to form Starborne Productions, and the Starborne SoundSystem was born, a 10,000 watt Mackie Fussion P.A. run on veggie-fuel (bio diesel). Starborne Productions currently produces the Oracle Gatherings, a series of events now legendary in the northwest.

As a d.j., Michael can throw down with the best of them, hanging with such heavyweights as Kruder & Dorfmeister, the Ninja Tune Tour, DJ Spooky, Loop Guru, Banco de Gaia, and the San Francisco Wicked crew. Playing up and down the west coast, from San Fran to Ashland to Eugene to Portland to Vancouver, B.C. and even Hawaii, his style remains deep, tribal house/breaks dipped in funk, peppered with bhangra, accompanied by beats that hit you like a rippling earthquake, and you can't help but shake it all night long!

Performances by: PURE Cirkus-purecirkus.com (http://www.purecirkus.com)
Pure Cirkus has been described as the "Modern CirKus". We focus upon corporeal storytelling through the combination of live performances merging elements of street performances, theatre, circus, opera, tribal and industrial music, with body modification and fire manipulation.
Along with its stunning costumes, height-defying stilt walkers and aerialists, illusionists, comical clowns, jaw dropping acts of demented bravery by the geeks, freaks and acrobats—the clash of both the macabre and mystical side of the three ring circus is brought to life through the human body in its Purest form.

I am a psychic medium: that means I see the future and spirits. I also read cards and give insightful, intuitive advice. In a reading with me you will learn that no one ever really dies, that everything is interconnected and that in your darkest hour, in a room with no other living being, you are never alone.

*Michael Manahan* has been involved in the underground visionary arts culture in Seattle for over 12 years as a DJ and event and music producer. Hailing from the burgeoning San Francisco house scene of the early 90s, Michael co-produced the original northwest full-moon celebrations lasting 5 years. Holding several residencies and as co-founder of the Oracle Gatherings, Michael has led many up and down the west coast through their dance journeys, from San Francisco to Vancouver, B.C. through Ashland and Portland and even Hawaii. His style remains deep, tribal house dipped in funk, peppered with bhangra, accompanied by beats that hit you like a rippling earthquake. With an eclectic composition, he crosses boundaries by weaving together a confluence of musical styles, but almost always with funky tribal and dubby influences at the roots.

I was thinking that I wish every weekend could be as right on the money as this one's undoubtedly going to be, but then the duality of my thought revealed that gaining a tolerance to the best things imagineable is very real, and that you just couldn't be more of a mac than having the full on capability to produce events, & talent such as this & be able to hold it in for when it's actually needed rather than just desired. Anyways gang, just a thought a reflection....
