Label: Epidemic Recordings, Canada
Release Date: OUT NOW!

Epidemic is back! This time we mean business, and this time we mean VINYL! The digital revolution has been put on hold because the demand for Epidemic on vinyl has been astronomical. This release consists of two different artists presenting two different originals, but with a common theme: Bank robberies, car chases and runnin’ from the cops! All this mashed together for some serious dance floor funk.

Influenza takes their sound to new heights with the unleashing of “Risky Business”. It’s midnight, the safe has been cracked, and the van is on its way. But something goes wrong... out of nowhere, sirens scream and red and blue lights illuminate the night. Escape is imminent! The thieves grab what they can, hop in their Ferrari F430 Spider, and take off, with the cops in close pursuit. Welcome to the soundtrack of their mission. We should also mention that the safe was full of funky beats, warped basslines, guitar licks, and twisted vocal hits. The thieves also get away.

601 are a relatively new outfit in the breaks world. Having only released two free remixes for Menu Music and a bangin’ remix for Epidemic Digital, it’s time that their original material stepped up. The duo of Nat and Sketchy has been putting in a lot of time as of late coming up with their next big hit. This time their efforts have truly shown the potential of their work with “Five-O”, a funky floor-filler with enough wah guitar that Starsky & Hutch would bust a move.

Full Support from Aquasky, Jay Cunning, Dopamine, Nick Thayer, AMB, Myagi, Timmy Schumacher, Angus Robinson and more!!!

Review from URB Magazine:

Influenza & 601: Risky Business/Five-O (Epidemic Recordings)

Finally, we see some vinyl from the Epidemic camp after a slew of digital releases. First up on this dbl artist release is Infuenza’s "Risky Business" and its twangin guitar licks to go along with some f’kn tuff beats and nasty bass stabs—love it. Newcomer 601 gets it a little funkier with "Five-O" by also utilizing the funky Shaft-esque guitar licks, horns and funky beats and grooves. Both tracks are awesome.
