OMG!! one of the best club nights i've ever experienced in Seattle.. up there with Armih van Buuren last October and Sander van Doorn last August.
MASSIVE atmosphere..THICK vibe!
Thank you to everyone who put this together.
I got to the club at around 11:45 and didn't expect to see them playing already.. Space was more than adequate...I've been to LSC when its been crowded more than a few times and this didn't compare.
The club was certainly was packed but the one interesting thing i noticed was the crowd was didn't have a single drink spilled on me a or single person push the entire night.
As for the set..It was way better than last time they were here. Most of my friend know how picky I am about trance and am hardly ever impressed, even by the big shots.. but that night they were absolutely spot on. I love how they alternated hard and energetic tracks with more melodic trancey ones.. And they managed to maintain the energy all night not just at the beginning or the end.. Here are some the tracks in the best possible order I can remember:
Armin Van Buuren & Rank 1 - The World is Watching Me (Cosmic Gate remix)
Above & Beyond pres. Tranquility Base -Razorfish (Bart Claessen 2007 Re-work)
Remo-con - Cold Front [Bart Claessen Remix]
Cassandra Fox - Touch Me (Mike Koglin vs. Jono Grant Remix)
Joonas Hahmo - Sound Of Sunday
Bob Marley - The Sun is Shinging (Maor Levi remix)
Above & Beyond - Tri-State
Above & Beyond pres. Tranquility Base - Oceanic
Above & Beyond - Good for Me
Solar Stone - Solarcoaster
Above & Beyond - I Can't Sleep

First of all I just want to say that the vibe was out of control!!!!!! I haven't been to such a fun trance night in a long time.. Johnny rocked it as usual, I was lovin that remix of 1983. A&B were sick.. amazing tunes all night long.. it was so packed there was sweat dripping from the ceiling.. heh.. Get rid of the damn tables in the main room near the pillars too.. WTB a bigger dance floor plz!
Christopher Lawrence is next week! :)

that was better then the last time they were here. I was on stage dancing behind the monitor and got to talk to them both for a few times. *SICK PART* Jono remembered talking to me the last time they were here on my b day (6 months ago!!). I about lost it when he dropped touch me, I haven't heard that in such a long time. They came out swinging for the fences when they kicked Johnny and Scott off lol, my only grip is that i had to take my buddy home at 115 :(.
i havene't been out in a while & it was good times. Nice to see everyone out. Scott & Johnny rocked it propper. The crowd was solid not too full but the dance floor was packed. Every other time A&B have been thru I have had other things going on & wasn't able to make it out. I thought they played some great tracks, & the crowd was down.

All this is true.
The last good show I attended was Marcus Schultz at Element, so it has been a while since I saw anything I thought was worth going to.
First, the guys arrived early, at 11:30, toltally surprising John and Keith, who expected to play at least a couple more tunes. Crowd was great, not crammy jammy sweatbox packed like the last time they were here, thank you LSC staff for opening the back room.
Sound was exceptional, twirling Paris Hilton lookalikes occupied thier proper spots on the podiums for the evening, and the guys played a great selection, starting off more hard and edgy, and working into the big epic stuff towards the end, I know I heard more of my favorites than I expected to.
Can't beleive they actually played " Alone Tonight". They dumped the sound out in the second chorus, and the crowd was singing along in perfect harmony. A good solid set with great energy from start to finish, and lotsa "Jesus" poses from the guys, I think we all had a good time.
Thank you Tony and Jono, and Paavo back home, for making and spinning such great music.

Ok now I'm convinced.
I'll have to catch A&B the next time they come.
I'm sure the reason they started early was because Monsoon & Keith were bringing it PROPER and they didn't want the energy any higher than they had it ;)
Way to represent the hometown team!!!

That was an amazing show :)
And Johnny ... was that you playing Breakfast - The Sunlight as the last track before A&B went on? ;) My night was set from that point on. Scott & Johnny, thx for killing it!!!
Personal favorite track from Above & Beyond was Signalrunners - Don't Look Back ... very slick. Jono & Tony were playing a great set, lots of good stuff in there: "Razorfish", "Sound of Sunday", "Xpander" and of course "Good for Me".
Awesome crowd, lots of happy faces totally absorbed in the moment and music. I was a little surprised they ended with "Can't Sleep" like their last show. Always a sick song nonetheless.
And Big THANK YOU LSC for putting on this show AND opening up that backroom ;) We all appreciated the extra space. Thx for keeping our Trance scene alive out here everyone.

Great review, the guys totally seemed into. Although the atmosphere for the most part was great. There was some pushing and shoving going on.
There was this girl next to me who was wearing a A & B tank top, and she kept on getting pushed around..and had to keep on pushing back. Thankfully I am a giant asian, so I didnt have a problem heh, but I felt bad for the couple of girls up front right next to me, but it didnt seem to bother them that much

TOTALLY agree.
The little tables and pillars totally crush the dance floor in. The dance floor would be massive if you could get those tables out.

as silly as it sounds, this show once again, reminded me of a total rock concert type atmosphere (ATB & Ferry Corsten shows were the same way). People wanted to get up front so bad, they could have almost used the security in yellow shirts pulling people over the fence like they do at concerts. haha.

Totally, I almost asked the one next to me if she wanted to stand in front of me, and not have to deal with the craziness. Thinking back on it, I should have!
Johnny you BROUGHT IT DOWN
Do you have a set list of tracks you played?

UN.....BELIEVABLE!
I'll first start off by saying that I've heard people saying that our scene here is hurting and is in danger. Well, once again, a Friday night @ LSC has proven otherwise. I truly believe this scene is whatever we make it to be. And as far as Friday night, it rocked from start to finish. :)
DJ Aku started things off at 9pm and if there was ever a way to set the table perfectly, he did it. This was his first time playing a Friday night @ LSC and I assure you it won't be his last. A great great mix of proggy goodness that impressed the hell out of me and enabled scott and I to take over from there with ease. In fact, I'm listening to his mix titled "Invasion" right now. http://www.confinedmedia.com/music/gabe_sets.html
Scott and I took over a tad after 10pm and you knew it was going to be "one of those nights" as the dancefloor had already filled out and people were ready for the onslaught. Oh and Otto, I don't actually have a tracklisting of the tunes I played but I'll send you what I can remember, LOL. We played all kinds of fun tunes and the response was absolutely electric! Oh and peter, Breakfast.....shhhhh ;) haha
Above & Beyond came on around 11:30 but all that meant was that we got 2.5 hours of madness vs. 2 hours.....which totally rocked! From their first track they played, they took the energy to another level. LSC was going nutso. And like I said earlier, it totally reminded me of a rock concert. People in the front row were total troopers because the crowd kept on wanting to get closer and closer to the guys.
J-Zen, excellent catch on the tracklisting. They brought track after track and it seemed like each time a new track came on, the screams escalated. And just like captain jack said, when they played "Alone Tonight" they cut the volume and it was crazy at how loud the entire venue was singin along. I only wish I could have caught that part on video.
All in all, it was a mindblowing night and for those who missed it, there will be plenty more of that this summer for you to catch. :) Hats off to the LSC staff for always keeping thing in check. And the biggest hats off goes to the crowd. Absolutely kick ass vibe (which we feed off of) and people came out in big numbers for this show.
And i'm left saying the same thing as I did in the John 00 Fleming show review thread: Once again, the energy inside LSC was off the charts! You have to see it to believe it!
Go to www.youtube.com/thejohnnymonsoon to see all the videos from the show. :)
I'll have the full size, full resolution pics up in my gallery in the next day or so: (www.johnnymonsoon.com/gallery)

GREAT SHOW!
I have to be honest, Trance isn't something that moves me very much these days..... but every so often, a performance reminds me that Trance is alive and rockin just as hard as it always has been! Last Friday w/ A&B was one of those nights!
Major kudos to DJ Aku who did a great job stepping up at the 11th hour and I hope to see from in the very near future.
To my parner in crime, Johnsoon, excellent work my friend. Wish we had that extra 30 min, but maybe next time :) I feel that each & every time that Johnny and I tag , its a better experience then the one before. Johnny fills in those great trancey/melodic elements inbetween my progressive/techy bits, and I feel it really makes for a dynamic duo. Looking forward to more!
A&B - what can I say that hasn't been said already? SOLID. Lets get them back and rock it once again. Great guys too, I only wish we could stay open past 2am because I know they would be game for it!
See you all at Christopher Lawerence this Friday!!! Don't forget DJ Inertia on the 30th!
