Cue eff TEE!!
One of my favorite memories about Europe is seeing a guy come stumbling drunk out of a Burger king, vomit into the shrubbery outside, and then stumble back in. Musta been happy hour.
The funny thing is that this was about nine in the morning. Even funnier were the patrons sitting in the window, approximately 2 feet from where the guy was ralphing. They didn't even twitch!!
I guess this happens alot at fast food places...at nine am....in europe.
It was then, that I truly knew...I was home at last.

McD's in Tokyo. Best Big Mac EVER. First and only time I've eaten there and the food looked just like the picture.

I think the last time i had anything from mcDs was like 3 years ago visiting mom and she brought home cheeseburgers, i ate 2 then crapped them out in less than 30 minutes... funny how non-food doesnt stay very long in my system
i hear in Australia the big macs come with beets and a fried egg on top... but then those guys actually drink and prolly care less what they eat as long as something greasy and dead is in it :)
Now lets talk Fatburger... that shit is a good burger

In Germany, and other places in Europe, beer is pretty much thought of as liquid bread. Any occasion that would call for solid bread is also a fine occasion to drink bread in its liquid form. Whether it's beer or bread, it's all really just fermented grain.

Oh yeah. Ancient Egyptians used to drink it for breakfast along with bread. Its been done that way for millennia.
Still...the thought of getting said beer from a fast food place at 9 am seems a bit much, even for me. I can handle the greasy smell. I can handle the beer. but grease+beer+early morning....I dont know. it just seems like too much, even for this old soul.

mcdonalds around the world are cool to go into, just to see what regional stuff they do.
tokyo ones had this special, the gratin burger... basically a breaded patty but inside was macaroni, shrimp, and a cream sauce. i'm kicking myself for not trying it, as the second time i returned they didnt have it.
i remember ones in germany that had ice cream sundaes in actual waffle cone bowls... and yeah, always interesting burgers.

Ah, but when it's 9 am following a drunkfest on, say, a wednesday night, then it's a blessing. ;)

I have to agree. After a late Friday night cavorting and gallivanting about town, nothing tastes better to me Saturday morning then a beer paired with my bacon and eggs.

I went there in 1994. I think it may have been the only one in the country when I was there. I remember there was like 3 blocks that had a Pizza Hut, McDonalds, and some other fast food places. Prolly has gone downhill in the last 13 years.

oh, right. that one.
Pizza Hut is gone, i believe. but McD's is still there.
there are about 50 of them in Moscow.
it's just there are so many of nice places (read expensive, but they bring you a blanket when you're sitting on a summer terrace) and so many McDees that it's not a big deal anymore.

There's a McDonalds in northern Tel Aviv that was the best I've ever had, because it was 100% Kosher so it was real meat (there are some that sell cheese on burgers and aren't all Kosher, but all the locations only sell Kosher beef). Biggest damn Quarter-Pounder I've ever had and I think the meal was something like 28 or 30 shekelim.. so like $7 - $7.50.

Yes we did. Everyone was super excited that day because, no offense, we were all incredibly sick of eating potatos and a piece of sausage in lukewarm bowls of broth accompanied by a refreshing glass of juice (?) made of jam stirred around in water at our host families apartments for the past two weeks.

agreed. Whenever I go to a foreign country, I always stop if I see one. Just once. After that, the novelty wears off. I was pleased to see that they still serve Mc Ribs in Granata. :D (Yes, they still cut the meat to look like it has "bones")
Oh, and Tokyo Mcdonalds has the McTeriyaki Sammich, and from what I understand it sold so well they're introducing the "Double Teriyaki mc sammich" thing.

im not sure if it was super size me (which i watched and promptly went to crackdonalds for a supersized big mac meal just for irony) or maybe just the fact that their meals are soo small.
even the double qp with cheese seems lacking.
and theres something about them saying its 100% beef now that really scares me. what was it before?

It's always been 100% beef. People that think, tell, or believe otherwise are misinformed morons. Period.

im sure you did your research but companies dont get that large without pulling all kinds of shady stuff. its not improbable its impossible.
