HELP!
I got fired from my job on thursday and am in desperate need of empoloyment. i live out on 82nd and don't have a car so i hope to find something close by. its my plan to take all the normal avenues of applying myself; papers, craigslist, jobdango and such, but figured i'd hit up here too just to see if anyone knows of a decent job opening.
thanks in advance

um... 82nd ?
you might want to announce the city, or at least the state.

well from 82nd you can easily get to the max line and that opens up the whole city to you.
if you dont mind the commute to beaverton, theres a company called "wholesale merchant processing" they're always hiring telemarketers.
866-520-1667 theyre right by allen blvd and scholls ferry rd. near washington square.
its not the best gig, but theres alot of oppurtunity for advancement as the company is growing very quickly.
theres always temp agencies too. just sign up with 3 of them one day and you can pretty much always find work if you need it in a pinch.
addecco, express personnel, and a couple dozen others.
stream is always hiring for various positions.
if you want to work from home and are pretty savvy with various webpage programming like php mysql or flash. check out http://www.scriptlance.com
now i dont wanna hear a bunch of excuses about not being able to find a job. just go in with your happy face and work hard until you find work.

You haven't even mentioned your old job or any qualifications. With that in mind I doubt there's anything anyone could say that you couldn't find on one of the aforementioned websites.

Not to insult the fine members of this posting community... but I doubt you'll find real help looking for a job here... especially if you got fired from a job...

Just walk around and catch a few busses man. Just about everywhere is hiring, and a lot of the jobs aren't advertising through craigslist.

craigslist seems like a good place to find work from home rip offs and other places that want entirely too many credentials for what theyre paying. im sure its worked for some people, it just seems to often this is the case.
theres also the oregon employment department, theyve got a site with new job listings updated daily. its not just for those collecting unemployment either, you can search by location or industry. in fact the myspace job listings are often from this source.

you don't give any details and you expect people not to act like jackasses?
we have apparently determined you live in portland. No one knows why you were fired, what kind of job you want or what kind of qualifications you have.
give some fucking details and maybe more people will take you seriously.

Bingo.
What did you really expect ?
There are plenty of jobs up here in Seattle Right on 85th in Ballard...but those wouldn't help you BECAUSE NOBODY KNOWS WHAT YOU WANT OR WHERE YOU ARE.

i was hoping for closer to where i live, but anything is better than not. I was just going to state that we have no information for which to help you, like "we have no clue where you live or what your qualifications/experiences are," but it looks like some of the other (very nice and helpful) jackasses around here beat me to it.

What we have to go on:
He or she lives near 82nd in Fargo,
Got fired from his or her job for reasons unbeknownst to us,
Doesn't have a car,
Plans on applying for a new job but hasn't yet,
And apparently knows how to use the internet.
HAVE FUN! Let us know how the job search went, djultrabEat!
