In 2005 around xmas i was in New Jersey taking pictures of a stream and dropped my Nikon D100 in the stream and havent had a personal DSLR camera since :(
Ive been using only my work cameras which for the most part i cant take home for personal use.

So i splurged a few days ago and bought

Nikon D200 camera body

Three 4 gig cards
Tamron Expeditionary bag #6
18-50mm 2.8 nikkorNikon lense
300mm 2.8 ap Nikkor nikon lense
50 mm 1.4 ap Nikkor Nikon lense

I already have a Nikon SB 800 flash, Sigma 15mm Fish eye and a nice tripod. In a few more pay checks im going to get a studio lighting kit.

Anyone else out there shooting DSLRs and have any opinions on their gear? likes and dislikes about their gear..

Im thinking of also buying a Nikon D80 as a back up camera.

D80 as a backup works well. I've got a similar outfit, but Canon:

30D body (primary)
300D body (backup)

canon 17-85mm f4/5.6
sigma 10-20mm f4/5.6
sigma 70-300mm f4.5 / 6.3
9 gigs of CF
various filters (CPs, 2 Lee GNDs and 2 Hitech GNDs)

If you're into landscapes or like the effects of a super wide, definitely consider the Sigma 10-20. Super sharp lens, I love the close focus distance it allows, and its $200 cheaper than Canon's alternative (though I did just have to send it in for calibration because one of the elements was way out of wack - which is where Canon obviously puts that extra 200).

Right now I need a more sturdy tripod than anything else. Looking at getting the Gitzo 2220.
