Go check out anything Schiza.
And a non-derogatory way of getting peoples attention is to exclaim loudly, "Bloomintoff!"

Place is a fucking haven for' minimal and experimental techno.
They've also got the hot-ticket on the downtempo, ambient, droney analog scene. Good luck on that.

Berlin is the Mother Land of forward-thinking electronic music (minimal, techno, tech house, experimental, electro, electro pop, gnarz, ambient, dub, downtempo, etc). There are more labels, DJs, producers and clubs per capita in Berlin as there is anywhere else in the world.
Over the past 5 years there's been a mass-exodus of producers and DJs from North America to Berlin. It's one of the few places in the world you can make a decent living DJ and producing underground dance music.
Have fun!

^ word.
Germany is Der Motherland or Mecca to us techno DJs. It depends on where you're going to be tho...
We've lost several artists recently to Berlin... Jeff Samuel, Little Mike, Etain (friends from Denver)... many others. It's THE place to be (so I'm told), but I'm sure in a few years, it'll be somewhere else... like Toronto or Montreal. However... as long as ze Germans are on the forefront of techno production, that's going to be the cradle of all that is techno.

Who cares about the scene - go for the culture, the experience, and the history!! Germany is an amazing place and is literally teeming with history and influence. The people are very very smart and fucking hilarious but they are dry. They aren't warm and fuzzy like most Americans, you have to work for their acceptance so don't be dissuaded by it. But they are a very funny people in general! You will love it! :)
Some of the classical greats lived and studied in Germany which in turn influenced some of the most amazing techno artists around. Enjoy the scenery and just absorb as much as you can over there. It really is a wonderful place. :) I envy you if you get to go.

Everything everyone else said (great techno, minimal, downtempo, experimental music, and a lot of history and beautiful scenery.. even if all that scenery is just a giant tourist attraction)... plus, great psytrance. Germany is the home of Voov and a slew of other amazing festivals, labels and producers (Ich liebe X-Dream!)
