I have been spinning drum'n'bass for the last 3 years, and have played out all over the nw, mostly in my hometown of Seattle WA.

You have not seen me around recently unless you were at the outdoor party around bellingham on saturday, where I played a short set.

I have been absent from the Seattle scene for a while because I have been busy going to school in nyc, attempting to get a degree. However, I have not ever stopped spinning!!!

I have a cd, and a whole lotta mix-tapes that I've finished and distributed. The cd mix is also on napster, but it'll be hard to find.

My style changes over time, but I always throw down lot's of records (I think I average about 20 or so per hour), and it's always speedy. I think that precise, layered mixing, and intelligently programmed set's are the keys to good dnb, and I do my best to live up to the harsh standards I set for other djs.

i hate answering this question, kos i sincerely dislike it when promoters feel the need to homogenize musical styles and turn a DJ into a genre prostitute. i play a lot of different genres of music. i try to approach all my sets with my mind and sensitivities on the environment i am in. different environments require different approaches. an environment is made up of the venue, the people in attendance, the time period (1991 is different than 2001), and many other factors. i believe good DJ's are those that are versatile and can adapt to the situation at hand.

for the most part, though, i like to play music that is:
1) deep, in an emotional sense ... this crosses all genres of music ... the blues are deep, tom waits is deep, new order is deep, pink floyd is deep ... jungle, house, techno, breaks, trance ... there are deep tracks in all genres. deep music takes you deep inside yourself and deep inside the music itself.
2) intelligent ... i like to play music where the producers are taking some chances. i like tracks that are unique in and of themselves ... some kind of quirky hook. that doesn't mean i play idm, although i could and have, and a lot of early 90's idm songs end up finding their way into my dance sets lately. but there is intelligent music in all genres.
3) funky ... tracks that are like meaty stew, that make you squint your eyes and say mmm mm while your butt shakes ... funky can also be really subtle ... and i like electronic robot funk more than organic funk ... but funk is funk ... anything dirty, sweaty, stinky.

i like to bring all these elements into a set, especially if i am spinning techno, house, or jungle. but i also spin ambient and idm and eclectic which doesn't necessarily require funk .. although it can.

i also like to play what everyone else isn't. some people think this is an affliction, but i really don't see the point in duplicating what other dj's are doing. i like new things ... and old things that have been forgotten.

none, i don't like to be a Baseball Card. i work with lots of people to make things happen, but i don't think this needs to be advertised next to my DJ name on a flyer.

Why:
i love communicating with people with music. i love to see the emotional, physical, and mental effects that music can have. i am interested in audio environments and the ways in which they dynamically interact with the people in them. i believe that the dancefloor is a spiritual place where people shed their fears and worries ... and i enjoy helping that experience to become reality.

Experience:
producing music since 1994, but have been on extended hiatus. i plan on getting back into producing this summer, but i've been telling myself that for a couple summers in a row already. why do i lie to myself?

DJ'ing since 1995. sort of "retired" last year. but so many sucky DJ's have come out of the woodwork lately, i feel it is my duty to spend all my hard-earned money on records and destroy my current collection even further in order to save you from these sucky DJs.

have performed live in las vegas, dj'd in las vegas and seattle. organized desert gatherings in las vegas for two years straight, helped run an underground weekly in las vegas called circle of life for 6 months, dj'd and helped organize second room and patio areas of club utopia in las vegas for 1 year, dj'd and helped with summer ascension and sundazed park parties in seattle for 2 separate years, numerous raves and parties (both indoor and outdoor) in seattle, some return trips to vegas to play at utopia and baby's at the hard rock, and some other stuff i can't remember right now.

i need to get back into this shit.

i like good music, i hate crap music. i take my DJ'ing very seriously. quality is very important. i care.

i've been thinking lately that it won't be as easy as it used to be to not pay me. i will always be sensitive to promoters who have lost money, so don't worry about me demanding to get paid, i am not like that. since i really don't like playing for lame greedy promoters (who are the ones who usually make money), i prolly won't ask for too much since your party will prolly be from the heart. bids start at $100. but you can try to sweet-talk me and it might get you a lower fee.

style: music you can bob your head too. typically it's classified as goa/psy-trance, but it's got a good beat and you can dance to it. i also play with broken beat music, aka dnb. some times light, sometimes dark, sometimes just plain weird, but asses have shook because of me. i used to play your standard funky/disco house and deep house and there were a few parties that spun that "progressive" trance stuff at. oh, and if you really want people to get sick, i could put together an 80's retro set...

experience: goofing off on decks for 4 years now, mainly as a hobby and to channel my addictive personality (record shopping is akin to heroin). never had a desire to play out, but was asked to play a BnE party in late of 99'. moved up a few ranks, played a few more parties; phoenix fest 1 &2, a few [inertia labs] parties, sundaze, my wonderful kids at ToS, my wonderful friends w/ 11:11, a few more BnE's, and even got to play at NAF (whoopee). all in all, it's been a good to me...

why: i've been in the "rave" scene for almost 10 years now, in 4 different states, been involved with promotion, flyer snatch, venue whore, butt-rapping security, and now i'm a cable bitch. i've helped promoters book local unknowns and seen them take off, shared in the joy of watching thousands of kids gather for the love of music, ran in panic as killer attack dogs chase me out of some dirty warehouse, and spoke with Srgt, Capt., and Lt's of local law agencies about what all the noise is about. i think that i have accomplished a lot in the years i've been around, and i would never change what i've done...but i'm still trying to figure out why i'm still here...

i've played only in portland and seattle areas but i am interested in playing elsewhere. i don't have any samples right now; i should be taking care of that soon. i don't ask for anything, if i have to get there, i'll maybe ask for a few bucks, but not usually.
