considering his roles in other movies, my expectations were a lot higher.

I was looking forward to this movie...but the end result put it no higher than 'scary movie' or any of those spoof movies.

It had potential, but the blatent and unneccesary swearing and nudity turned it into a pretty silly spoof.

I thought it had it's funny parts, and it had a nice ending...but compared to previous comedies that he was in, this movie was pretty lame.

i thought the scene where he's on the phone and the guy is standing there with his dick in his face was hilarious, but then again nudity and swearing don't bother me at all. I mean, the guy's breakout role was in Boogie Nights so I know he isn't going to shy from a scene just because it's not G rated.

it wasn't the best role I've ever seen Reilly in but it was a lot better than I thought it was going to be from previews.

And ya, the "you don't want none of this shit!" joke was great :)

i agree with that, i actually REALLY like john in taladega nights, but i dunno...something about the writing and just the way everything played out in the movie really made me laugh.
my favorite part was where dewey is on the bus and he talks to his monkey and says "well all you care about is fruit and touching yourself well fuck you!" and just the way john says the line is fucking comedic gold.

yes it was just a silly spoof, and normally i dont liek shit like scary movie, or meet the spartans, but...something was just hillarious about walk hard

I think what most people don't get about this movie is it was so masterfully - intentionally - random that it doesn't make sense unless you understand its supposed to be completely random and nonsensical. I was cracking up for the whole movie, and my roommate thought it was stupid (evidently he didn't get it).
