I am a huge sucker for Chianti's. I love a dry, full bodied red wine any day and constantly cruise the Italian and French import section of most groceries and shops. Not to say I wont try American or Australian but I prefer a good French or Italian wine. German wines are decent too.

Red wine +chocolate ganache = Happy Phedre.

I'm also a sucker for certain muscatos and lambrusco. I'd reccommend some bottles of vino but I am blanking off the top of my head right now. What I do know is that I have spent many nights in Amy's (Amos) company drinking Blue Nun and eating bruschetta.

Rieslings are my favorite, i like the local ones the best too, Snoqualmie, and there's one other i forget the name of that is my absolute favorite wine.

i don't drink a lot of reds, but i think that i just haven't found one i liked enough yet. I should go back to Vino100 and get the one red i got before that was just delicious, i forgot what kind it was. This is my problem with wines, i get one i like, but forget what it was so i don't get the same one again. i'm constantly trying different wines, which is good, but i should remember which wines i like.

Zinfandels. Hands down. Although I pretty much like all wines. If you like zins (red zins) then try the "Gnarly Head" (California) old vine zin. A spicy little number, with hints of blackberries, and a fruity bouquet. It....is.....sex.

Phe-phe.....Try the Gabbiano Classico. Its got a mounted knight on the bottle. Nice Italian Chianti. Not too pricey either. Or if you want something a little sweeter, but still Italian, Try the "Ripasso". ($8.95 at Trader Joes). Worth every penny.

The rest of you:

If you want to kick it with a bottle of wine some time, or would just like someone to go wine shopping with, then holler. I am like a choco-holic. Except, you know....with booze. I offer up my services as wine steward/sommelier, free of charge. :D

We love local wines. Cab sav's from Washington, and pinot noir's from Oregon. We really dig on Robert Mondavi's vineyards. We just tried his Oakville bottle not too long ago, and have a second bottle of his reserve in the cabinet.

I love that wine. And it's very affordable for such a good wine.

I'm excited to open up some of the bottles that I got for my house warming.

I'm not a huge fan of the wine but my friends turned me on to Snoqualmie wine, which is a Riesling. It's sweet and a little tart but wicked tatsty

Oh I have had that one many many time, Ben :) different years too.

I normally drink the Etruscan one from Trader Joes. And then there is D'Aquitian or something along those lines from Tj too. Its a black label with an old Italian double-headed eagle crest on it. Very good chiantis, both of them.

I think the label is Dancing Bull Zinfindel? Another good one I'd try again.

I heart wine. I go through a bottle or two a week, lol

Heheh. Yeah. I uh....do about 3 times that. :o

I generally open a bottle with the intent to have a glass...but uh...yeah, sometimes that just doesn't happen.

My wine rack holds 21 bottles of wine, and no matter how hard I try..... It never stays full. lol.

I go through anywhere from 3-7 bottles a week. Just depends if I am entertaining that week. A few of my girlfriend's get together, and we just drink wine and talk about old times.

I'm strictly into red wine these days. About 5 years ago, I only drank whites, but now my taste for whites has disapeared.

I want to try some red wine but I haven't found one that I liked and I don't want to buy a bottle and not drink it. Any suggestions? I like a fruity flavor.

I like white wine because it's crisp to the taste.

Well, you can't go wrong with a Shiraz if it's fruit you like. Maybe the Ravenswood? It's a fruity lil number out of Sonoma county. ALso, the barefoot winerey is usually a safe bet as far as decent/cheap wines go. Just stay away from the Merlot....If you want fruity, try the Root 1 cabernet. The bottle has a white tree with large roots going down the front of the bottle. REALLY good wine with nice soft tannins and a robust flavor, but also a pleasing finish of rich red grapes.

A good red table wine might be what you're looking for. These are blends, and so the flavours are more smoothly rounded and not as sharp or pronounced as a single varietal. One of my favorite red table wines is the Coppola Rosso (yeah, the same Coppola).

I've never been a fan of Coppola's vineyard.

I really only like red. White is usually too sweet.

Ceago and Tulip Hill are good Napa wines.

Yellow Tail has always worked for me as cheap but good.

LOL okay I dont feel bad now. I was kind of rounding down....a lot. I'm the same way: I have every intention of one glas and I end up draining the bottle. But hey, I sleep really good that night! :D

"I dont want to get you drunk, but that's a very fine Chardonnay you're not drinking" (one of my favorite lines evar!)

I use the "I have to return some video tapes" line all the time. Sadly, it doesn't work much anymore as everyone watches dvds. :(

But I like mead. :) I also like spiced/mulled wine during the holidays.

Im drink a lot of white wine. I usually like something a little tart like a good sauvignon blanc. I usually dont buy a lot of expensive wine, but I have made my way up and down the shelves at QFC. :D

I tried this Argentinean wine about a month ago that was absolutely delicious but I cant remember the name of the winery. I know the bottle was not a normal wine bottle though, it was kind of stout like a barrell.

Anyway.

I wish I was more into wine. And beer, for that matter.
I have a hard time getting past the 'rotten fruit' taste of wine. I've had a very sad, very limited sampling of wines so I'm hoping that's my problem.
We don't have a whole heck of a lot of money to spend on wine so I can't really experiement, and the husband refuses to go wine tasting with me.

Any suggestions for a wine noob?

Start locally. Chateau St. Michelle Wineries makes a decent Cab Merlot.
