McCain has known Joe The Plumber for a long long time, and was in fact in a McCain ad earlier this year.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NmZ3o0Di7Go
Joe The Plumber is a grandson of Charles Keating. you know - McCain's long time friend who robbed all the savings & loans and gave some of the money to McCain so McCain wouldn't put him in jail and would let him keep the money he stole. that Charles Keating. Joe The Plumber's daddy actually went to jail for helping Mccain's longtime friend Charles Keating rob banks in the 80's.

Joe The Plumber used to live in Arizona, fairly close to McCain's home.
http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601103&sid=aysiUbzAUIZs&refer=us
Joe The Plumber wants to use his petty cash to buy a $250,000 plumbing business from a friend/competitor. cuz u kno. thats how plumbers do, thats how they roll. well. except for the fact that the average plumber earns about $43,000/year and doesn't have $250,000 worth of money stolen from S&L's in the 80's laying around.
http://www.bls.gov/oco/ocos211.htm#earnings
Joe The Plumber owes at least $1200 in back taxes.
oh, and Joe The Plumber doesn't actually have a plumbing license.

Isn't he also unregistered to vote, meaning (in my opinion) he doesn't really have the right to complain about one politician over another?

I think Joe is kind of a side issue, now. It's Obama's "spread the wealth around" statement that they're really going to kick around.

isn't it great that 'ol joe is so wiling to be so vocal about a tax increase after a period where the national debt doubled, but has yet to complain about those same tax dollars being used to buy mortgages and private banks?

I am sorry. But I think dragging Joe Plumber and lynching him for being used as an example is bullshit. I think its complete bullshit that a Vice President Elect attacked Joe in public and in the press and worse our press jumped on the bandwagon. I think its bullshit. And it pisses me off.
First Joe doesn’t matter, and it was cute that McCain used a real human as an example; it was probably wrong especially how both these candidates have been lurking around throwing mud. What McCain said has some truth to it and did make some since. But instead of investigating his claim our press and or candidates have attacked the example. Even in the on the web, when I read and article on some fact site that stated there was truth in the example, but it followed the fact research, one paragraph, with a two paragraph statement about Joe, to point out that even if this didn’t happen it would not effect Joe because he probably wouldn’t make $250k and did not have a plumbers license. WHAT THE FUCK? WHO FUCKING CARES ABOUT JOE? Why is that so important to point out? “Oh ya, it might fuck some people, but it won’t effect Joe, oh and Joe is a bad American so the plan is ok!” BULLSHIT
He is just an America, he owes back taxes, he wants to won his own business, he hasn't got his license yet. This is many Americans. Why the fuck are we attacking one of are own? Is this what Obama and McCain have lead us to? That we attack and average man because he was used as and example for a subject where McCain made sense?
I am so pissed right now. I don't even want to vote. I want another to do with a campaign that is SO WHITE FUCKING COLLAR that they would attack a guy. THERE IS NEVER A REASON FOR A POLITICAL LEADER TO ATTACK A PRIVATE CITIZEN.
BULLSHIT.

First off that is BULLSHIT. It doesn't matter who dragged him in the fact that people especially a fucking vice elect is attacking someone used and an example instead of defending the subject in which the example was used as an attack is BULLSHIT. It is more bullshit that the media is attacking him and even more bullshit that average Americans who have similar skeletons are attacking him.. How does it feel to have you life attacked by the media? It sucks and its shit and I am still pissed. I am shaking pissed like loose my temper that people are attacking this guy. WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WIH USE? why? He doesn't matter, what does matter is the subject. People have been bitching this whole time about address the issues, THE ISSUE IS NOT JOE. And it is wrong of our politicians to use him as an example.

Hind sight is 20/20 and I don't think that old bastard had any idea that they would focus on attacking an average voter instead of addressing the issue. I think even McCain thought they were a better campaign than that. I sure the hell did, I was voting for them. Now I am not sure about anything. This is wrong and we should question it. Because anyone could be used as and example by these fucks.
The fact that neither Obama nor Biden, or the press have focused on the subject is Bullshit tactics they have been bitching about this whole time.
As Citizens we need to not be abused like Lemmings, and told to Hate Joe, and because Joe is bad, and because Joe is bad the bill is not worth our time because Obama is good?
This is bullshit. I am done I am so mad right now I want to tear up my card.
I am sorry but I am really really upset, the more I read the coverage on this the more upset I get at the fourth estate and worse at my decision to vote. I am reconsidering... voting period.

Hold someone up as an example and then act surprised when your example is scrutinized? I'll say it again- blame McCain. Personally I think you're overreacting anyway, he is really not going through anything all that traumatic right now, nothing that plenty of other people don't go through all the time.
Furthermore he is a friend of McCain's and I have a hunch he knew he was going to be mentioned in the debates. I mean he was in a McCain ad earlier this year as Rodd mentioned- I think its hard to paint him as a poor victim here. He injected himself into the situation. If he wanted his secrets to stay secret he should have avoided politics.

Your missing my point, probably because I am too upset and not clarifying well..
1. it does not matter if he is MCCains Friend.
2. He does not matter the focus should stay on the subject at hand.
3. The Press nor Obama's campaign have focused on the subject they have all focused on Joe, which by the way is what I am pissed off at McCains party for too, and supposedly the thing that Obama's campaign has been upset about too, Not addressing the issues, smoke and mirrors, pigs and lipstick.
4. Biden IS a vice president elect, He is a powerful leader looking to be a more powerful and he attacked "Joe the Plumber" Seriously what the fuck? Biden should be addressing issues, not attacking some guy and making an example out of him. It feels more like "Oh look we are right and if you speak up and seem like a supporter of McCain, you will be trashed by the press, by your fellow Americans, and by me, the fucking vice president elect as well. You are not allowed to have a difference of opinion, because this is America."

a) are you saying obama hasn't answered the question joe the plumber asked him and clearly stated his views on taxation and how it would effect small business?
b) what exactly has biden said about "joe the plumber"?
i saw one tv appearance with biden, that was far from an attack on joe the plumber...
biden seemed to be stressing the importance of helping people that make less than $250,000, which he considered the real average "joes"
is there something other than that one tv appearance that i am missing, because i certainly wouldnt call that an attack
c) as for media and bloggers... thats a whole other story

I believe that Obama's plan is kinda of bullshit. I al ready hate paying taxes on the cappy amount of money I make, but should I work my ass off and finally make more than $250,000 a year I think its crap that I would get taxed more. Its not right to for me to work harder and get punished for my success. There are better plans that don't single out the rich in order to gain popularity from peoples jealously That’s all I see Obama's plan as. Getting popular, by telling the masses who are poor that he will get some of what the rich have and give it to them. This has always gone bad. I saw Dr. Zevago twice.
Looking for the quotes from Biden now I believe it was a New York Times story that and it was more than just one tv appearance. , point is, why? again. I felt that his speech did not answer anything it eluded.
Also why are we, people in the same boat with difference of opinions wasting are time looking for reasons to hate Joe?
Finally I hate political bloggers, too and I keep falling into their trap. Thank you for shaking me a little and waking me up.

I respect that Obama has taken the high road, but I'm not on his committee. I don't need to take the high road though.
McCain's committee, McCain's potential administration, they started this fight.
I just started this thread to point out the hypocrisy. Obama has been pallin' around with terrorists??
Joe The Plumber is Charles Keating's grandson. McCain is obviously still hanging out with his friends in the Keating family.
McCain has been pallin' around with bank robbers.
who's attacked America in recent memory. who was the most recent to attack and who has caused the most devastating attack? Al Qaeda? or corrupt bankers?

They aren't different things. Socialism is an umbrella term for any socio-political philosophy that advocates the collective and democratic control of the means of production and labor. Communism is socialism..Marxism is socialism.
During the Spanish Civil war, the POUM (communists) and CNT/Anarchists fought with Stalinists who'd hijacked the Republican effort. Stalinism, is so far removed from the tenets of socialism/communism, I don't think it can be justifiably called socialism.
Obama is a Capitalist however, unfortunately.

I think that the point with the Socialism / Communism post is that Americans' fear of anything "Socialist" is the remnant of the Cold War, where it was the battle between 2 economies lying near the polar opposites of the economic spectrum, and isn't actually really rational.

just to clarify things.
Obama is not a "Socialist". he's a "Progressive Democrat". there's a big difference.
Charles Keating (and his son-in-law, the esteemed Mr. Plumber's father) was not a banker. he was a thief. there's a big difference.
