wow.. there is no need to record @ 96k. 48 is more than suffient for a mix... unless you're doing a professional studio mix for sale, 48k and then a conversion to 192 (MP3) is more than adequate.

so, that was aight. I'm gonna be brutal. That was like 2.5 stars. I really liked some of the tracks you were playing in the middle of the mix there, but, I can understand that in the beginning of the mix you may have been attempting to create a slow build, however, the concept is awesome, espceially for a mix cd, but the truth is, it doesn't sell yourself well. And, the scratching at the end of the mix was like finding moldy bread in the refrigerator. That shit ain't fresh. It doesn't sell. Honestly, as a record producter, I would be pissed if someone wanted me to promote this. You have to be a fucking wizard to scratch to house music. Overall tho, it would keep me dancing and give me time to go get a drink at the bar. My thing is tho, I like it when the dj slows down, and stops me from refilling my cup, cause whatever they just made come out of the speakers is something I can't leave the dance floor for.

So, don't take what I say too seriously. Just thought you deserved some honest criticism because it sounds to me like you are working hard on this. I'd love to hear more of what you are doing! Have a good one man!

No worries. Honesty is golden. I know I'm not the best at scratching, but I do it anyways. The only way to really judge myself is to record it, so I do, quite often. And I will admit, I do post imperfect mixes, mostly done on the fly, but it is nothing compared to my best mixes. Sure, they don't represent my mixing or turntablism skill, but when I play back and I'm fond of the sound, the set, the mix in general, I like to share it. I will also admit I have burnt a few as demos, but not for business, just for fun, usually in a stack of one of my best demos. I play best live, but if you wanted to hear my best mixes, check out my soundcloud or myspace in my sig. Cheers, and thanx for the feedback :)

yeah, keep up the good work. i would absolutely love to check out whatever else you are doing. I'm going to be posting some of my own production and dj mixes over the summer. I'm excited because I've been doing this for years but I haven't had any ambition to pursue any venture into business. Not true though, it's just been part of the business plan to really develop myself in a professional environment and I'm at the point where I'm ready to begin releasing my own publications for exposure to build a soundbase where I will eventually sell a product.

Anyway, that's the type of person you are receiving feedback from. I have a mix that absolutely rocks even though the levels are off in some places and the phrasing wasn't exactly how I wanted it. It is still awesome and I made it a long time ago. My mixing has become flawless so I hope you look forward to seeing what I'll be releasing this summer.

Really though. I'm just glad we have a forum where we can discuss what we absolutely love to do and share information. Keep it real music man.
