techno/trance mix from the ca bay area, all feedback appreciated. :D
from sf area and going to post some new mixes. techno, some progressive/trance, and some minimal. i heard the scene was really good up there, here in the bay it seemed to shink a bit, but has come back pretty strong. i haven't even partied in LA yet, lol. been to some in st. louis and anchorage but the bay has a really good scene. even sacramento is coming back. please recommend some good mixes on this site, id love to hear what you have going on up here... New promo mix avail 'Teleharmonium' 60 min minimal/techno mx Body: 5-23-09
This is a one hour minimal mix with several other similar genres incorporated within. Lots of clean deep basslines and quality rythms. I like the clean, clear highs lately...and well written melodies. I included a very long intro, the track comes from one of the earliest examples of primitive american folk that i was turned on to in a music appreciation class i'm taking. i like the contrast it brings, a song from the early 1920s vs the future of music. In a way an attempt to prepare to the ear. The title of the mix 'teleharmonium' comes from the earliest known electronic insturment that was the size of an entire room that apparently didn't sound that great but really was a triumph in music technology, invented by Thaddeus Cahill in 1897. Unfortunately it was never recorded. Thaddeus dreamed it would actually work via telephone so people would call and hear the music from home (STREAMING AUDIO IN 1897!)
Stay tuned for hard techno mix coming soon and also a KDVS 90.3 techno radio show coming shortly as well.
