What is this??? It sounds too bizzare for me! I wonder what the promoter is wanting to achieve because it seems somewhat tweaky.

Maybe it'll be phenomenal...but it doesn't look that way from the flyer info. I've been to a party at the Exhibition Center...It's Still Like That (Rabbit in the Moon was orgasmic!!!)...and it's not that fun of a venue.

(Black Eyed Peas and Grand Master Flash are really dope though)

Hell Yeah!! Mad Props for getting Dimitri From Paris

I would imagine the promoters are trying to do what they say on the flyer bring together Fashion, Art, Media, and Community Serivce. (Its Still Like That) was just a normal rave yes very awsome party RITM was awsome but this is a tottally diffrent thing this is more a fashion show/electronic show featuring some of the best fashion designers and some of the best music acts around. In my personal opinion I think this will be a good thing something I'm excited to see this is not a "RAVE" this is a Fashion/Music event with a big percent of proceeds going to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. This is a show not to miss its going to be loads of fun and very intresting to see.

somebody tries to do something new and its "bizzare"? this is why we have so much of the same shit all the time.
i'm going to see black eyed peas. i heard they were off the hook live. (even though i'm going to be tired from rockin' out with DJ IRENE and SIREN the night before!)

sounds like a rip-off if you ask me.If you go to the website it says tickets are $40 presale and $45@door and there is only 1 dj worth seeing and that is dimitri from paris. Also you are paying way to much and they don't even have free cd's or shirts, but you can pay more money to buy these things.

I can already smell shit coming off the flyer by just looking at it on the net.Of course that is my thought on this show.

Well everyone is intitled to there own opinions you could always find out by calling ticket master or one of the other places and ask them for sure how much it is and there are lots of free sponser giveaways, but hey if you feel its a rip then thats kewl everyone is intitled to thier own opinion, I think its worth it yea dimitri of paris is going to be awsome but their is also a "BIG" special Guest headliner and I think the headliner will be well worth the money.

If you guys go to the website, and check the actual CONTENT of the Flyer, this event is not targeting your everyday rave crowd. There is a 21+ Full Service bar for christ's sake. This event appeals to alot of different crowds, and is definitly diversifeid enough to include some party kids who want to experience a little more than the walls at Naf. I really doubt that the cost of the ticket is not justified within the cost of the venue and talent involved. Just cause it is not your "A" typical rave, with more techno talent, does not mean it is a waste of time, everyone has their reasons...but believe me. i will be there...."Grandmaster Flash in the MUTHAFUKIN House" yeaaaaah!

I completely disagree. Just because you've seen a DJ before it doesn't mean that they aren't worth seeing again (I speak of Grandmaster Flash, Eva). Plus I am excited to see Black Eyed Peas and there's going to a be a fashion show, which is a very large part of the event.
It seems that this show has a lot to offer, and since they are trying to do something different and original for people to enjoy, give it a chance.
I'll be there :)

woooooooooh doood....you got it all right and all wrong at the same time. dimitri from paris is the reason im going to this event, but to say that because he is the only one that is worth seeing, so your not going to go is all sorts of wrong. dimitri from paris is a master, i would pay 40 bucks to see him alone with no other headliners. also no free shirts or cd's? glad to know that you go for the love of the music man.....really keep it in perspective.

Sounds like this party will be a little different from the dull gray walls of NAF. Maybe be a little pricey, but for some diversity ill sure be in attendance. I hope people dont let a little somthing different scare them off, its time to reach out a little off the norm!! Hope to see a flyer or something soon...
:D See you all there, good vibes and smiles ONLY !! :D

If you don't understand how music brings the people together then you'll never understand how things work. Fashion is just as much of an art as music and if you can't see that then your eyes are closed. It will be awesome to see how it all comes together and to know that you're helping find a cure for breast cancer at the same time!! Hope to see you all there.

i am under the beleif that the fashion show and the music are two seperate parts at two seperate times and they cost two different amounts. if i am looking at it right (and i hope that i am not) ocean(the fashion show from 8-9) is 40 dollars and afterglow is 35 ( music from 10-3) thus you have to pay 75 dollars for it all....? boo. i would like to go to it but not for that amount.

Apex Grooves
05-07-2001, 07:22 AM
I'm not 100% sure but I will find out today but I think if you pay for ocean you won't have to pay anything for afterglow.

dude....don't stereotype.
I know I dont enjoy it when someone stereotypes the rave culture, we should show the same respect.

MrMiyagi
05-09-2001, 08:51 PM
i dont think ewok was stereotyping the "rave" culture.. just the fact that there's mostly hiphop at it, and being that the majority of the concert events there have been raves, the media will have their own ideas with what happens there... im just curious to know how much the media blows up the percentage of people on E there like they did with Crescent, cause it should be less, but yeah
