Chillout Campout v0.2 19 sept 2009

hey all-
just wanted to thank everyone that made it out and contributed to a overwhelmingly successful event!

to those that i invited that didn't make it out, we really missed u guys and hope to spend more time together in the future..

i had hoped to spend more time with all of my close friends, it seemed like that spot had so many seperate really friggin sweet chill areas that everyone was all spread out, but it was EXREMELY well worth the money to reserve for us- some people got soggy the first night and set up in the upstairs of the cabins and had a great second night, its well worth it to have some accomidations since it always seems to rain whenever i organize a camping trip..
upstairs above the sound was off the goddamn charts! Bernie just told me that at one point someone dropped a track that felt like we had strapped 'space shuttle' sized rocket engines to the corners of the cabin and it was about to take off!
the rain forest up there is really beautiful with all the moss on the trees and beautiful plants, the best landscapers in the world couldn't match that.. (with the ferns that are "noise ordinance" green! so bright green that the raingers have to stop by and do a "morality check" !! haha)

please post some of the good memories u guys had of this event, i wanna hear it..

anyways, what did you guys think? should we do another one next season? we can reserve the spot a year in advance so next summer is already open as long as we have the money to do it...

PS: no i'm not starting this thread to complain about how nikon *didn't* drop that sweet ass mario track that i love, because he DID DROP THAT SH!T AND IT WAS OFF THE DAMN CHAIN YO!!! YOUR SO GANGSTER!!

I agree with the statement about Nikon not playing the mario track. :D

On a side note. Jay & I had a fucking awesome time!
It was a little muddy for a while, but that made for a much more interesting adventure through the woods.
The river was beautiful and that location is massive!
Can't wait to do this again next summer!

the gear was in proper working order
the djs that spun had great attitudes and dropped dope beats
Bug tore it up most as it seems she got the crowd all sorts of roudy... good job girl
nice seein toyo takin pix all over....still wonder if u got any of me, lol (prolly not HAHA! ninja!!)


the venue was waaaaaay dope
awesome spot, good job and lots of hardwork from all those involved
thank you rabbit for bringing the RV tent for the dance floor

once i get some sleep in me, i'll try to write up more for my review and maybe even post sum pix up ;)

the mario track was indeed sick! tee hee. I may or may not have been jumping up and down to the beat of the coins, maybe theres a mushroom in there! :D
I had such a great time, thank you mike and tk! your fine ship of hard beats was well captain'd, and t'was the finest chill out session this lilly livered land lubber has seen:) the event in 1 word -AWESOMENESS, i vote for another go next year. Super beautiful despite needing an ark @ one point. so awesome to have your kindness AGAIN holly, jay and scotty, you guys are an amazing family. Barter fairee! :) do it.
The music was off the hook too! I loved it, everyone brought something bomb to the table. I generally am not a "hard house slut" but Bug! wow! I loved your tracks. I was getting down with my bad self. totally loved the southpark/cartman track. w00t! also your doggy was so cute and such a trooper. <3 Nikon, Jay, Wiley, downrigger and all the DJs that hauled in gear, laid down some delicious tunes and made this an amazing night! thank you so much for sharing your music. :)
I missed u Jon! But we totally turned on the radio @ 3am to listen to your set, albeit a bit fuzzy in the reception dept. there was some serious parking lot rockin goin on.

Hollywood: JOKING about how it burned when he pees, and Bug sitting next to him gets up and moves over a bunch to her boyfriends lap like "eew.." and Hollywood retorts with "OH JEEZ THANKS..."


Dave joins us at the campfire after being gone for a bit.. after some time we ask "so where's maria at??" dave replies with a chuckle "taking a breather..."

Favorite parts of the weekend:

Hollywood yelling I DON'T WEAR MAKEUP at the perfect moment when we cut the sound on a track

The awesome cabin lofts that kept me safe and dry

Hauling a BBQ out there only to discover that the 2 salmon I brought were still frozen solid

Introducing new friends to the EDM scene proper

Hollywood getting poked in the eye by a tree branch on his way to almost falling down a hill

All the DJs rockin it!

My phat bass drop that apparently sounded like rockets were making the cabin take off lol

I had an awesome time! Thank you so much to everyone who came out! We missed you to those of you who couldn't make it out.

I'd also like to thank every one for helping with cleanup sunday morning. You guys are the best. There was a lot to do and you guys made it go a lot faster and easier.

The site was gorgeous and a lot bigger than we thought. we went exploring and found a trail that led to another picnic bench and tent site. Definitely one we want to use next summer with better weather! All the cabins are nice to keep people dry, I'm glad those worked out for everybody.

I enjoyed meeting new people as well as seeing people i knew. I'm glad everyone had a good time, despite the rain. Jason, thanks again for bringing the carport, that always saves the day.

The sound was awesome from upstairs of the cabin!

not only did i fuck my face up....but i fucked my back up as well....great idea to put the tent inside the cabin....not such a good idea the next morning after sleeping on cement the collects the cold! didn't really think that one all the way through.....lol


but great times meeting BUG and TOY and a few other people...


My eye ball is safe...thank fucking god! damn beers from around the world gets me drunk and not paying attention to a drop off...

but MIKE big thank you too you man....place was great next year i have to come for the whole time so we can take a hike up to the ice caves......

OMGOSH... well let me first say that thanks are in order! Thank you Jay and Holly for inviting me out, this was such a thrill for me and I'm so glad I got to test out some new stuff on you guys and I'm SO glad everyone liked it!!! Thank you Mike for letting me take over your stage for a little bit and play something that wasn't really expected or asked for. Thank you so much to the rest of you for being so nice. This little get together put me in such a good mood, I'm STILL feeling it. I can't wait to come out to Harvest and hang out with all of you again!

A few other highlights:
Hollywood, I'm glad you got that burning cleared up, but for the record I DID NOT inspect the problem personally. :p
I'm so bummed I missed out on that pizza. I'm gonna have to get something sorted out with that next time. ;)
My dog was such a trooper, even though she was pretty miffed about getting rained on. Hopefully next time I bring her out, it's a little more dry and she can be the ham she usually is.

I'm gonna TRY to hit up the covert ops stage at Abducted (if I make it down there). Hopefully everyone who's going will say hi again!

no word on the recording yet, i'm VERY VERY busy with school right now, taking 21 credits this quarter so i already have 3 reports due and i'm half done with the first..

hmm well my position is that music is for everyone, so everyone has my permission to get any recording of any of my sets and make as many copies as you wish. i think that goes for most artists because everyone likes to have their music to be heard..

maybe if he isn't willing to share with everyone, then i won't be willing to be recorded in the future...? i shoulda got a certain IKEY hooked up from a friend.. i have contacted downriggor for my set, my soundcloud will be updated as soon as i get it.
