Hey, I'd love to run a NWTekno BBQ meet at Golden Gardens, we could get various meats and vegetables, chips, soda, get some people to set up some tables and have an awesome time! What do you guys think, and would you be willing to help?

Hey. I'm possibly collaborating with Jacob Trance on a Sundazed-style party, and have been looking for a park to have it at. I had the same idea of having a bbq. Only difference was that I was gonna have people walking around with donation boxes to collect money for the AIDS Walk. A little sun, music, and bbq. So if u're interested in this send me an e-mail.
Also, where is Golden Gardens? Is it on water, or just a park on land? Just wanting to get some ideas for parks. Let me know what u think.
I am also looking for someone to possibly donate their sound system for whatever day will be good for everybody. I have not quite decided a date yet, but possibly late July or early August. If anybody has Force Sound System, or anyother company's phone number, could u please e-mail it to me. Thanks.

This sounds like alot of fun, I'm definetly down. Where is the park you're talking about?
It should be relatively easy to get some sound set-up. Come up with a date and let's do it!!!

neat idea. but why not just schedule the bbq the same day/location as sundazed? seattle parks are large, it's not like you'd step on anyone's toes, rather, i'd imagine it would be quite welcome. and it saves you the hassle of getting permits/sound/djs, plus it would probably create a larger turnout overall. perhaps it could become a sundazed ritual, people could do it all summer long. *shrug*

if you are really hell-bent on throwing your own sundazed-esque event, start getting your permits now. it's my understanding that the NRR consortium has had to kiss the park department's ass the last couple years in order to get theirs.

Thanks for your repsonses,
Sothis: Yes, this party would be in the summer since I want to take my time planning it and making it as kickass as possible.
I think Meej did a great job of answering the other questions....
Anyhow I was thinking that I'd set it up like a full scale party and have board kid DJ's as well as plenty of barbecue/vegetables, and try to keep it at a reasonable cost (like $5-$10) with any proceeds of course going to NWTekno....
I'll be looking up the number of the people to contact at Golden Gardens, and I'm shooting for late June/early July, so if you want to help DJ/cook/whatever please email me.
LETS DO THIS!!!

I'll be there whenever it is, cuz board peeps rock! (except the haters... urgh!).
Just curious tho... can't we do both BBKahuna's BBQ, and possibly a BBQ at the sundazed events? Cuz that sounds phat too!
Hope so...
Peacez...

I was at Golden Gardens on last Sunday for a BBQ, and low and behold, over to the very far right of the park, was a tent set up, with a Pretty nice sound system, and many-a-dancer gettin' jiggy! The park kicks ass, first off.....if you haven't been there...it's a little north of UW(85th street exit, then go left all the way), with a huge beach...like one of the only ones with SAND, WOO-HOO!! Then to make it even better, there are fire pits all up and down the beach to have bonfires, and there were PLENTY of them....pallets burn wonderfully! When the weather is nice, the park is beautiful. I wonder if it closes at dusk? If not...party by the fire-light would be dope as hell....as long as no e-tards try to get too close to the fire for a lightshow or something!
Anyways...BBKahuna, hit me up if you need help with anything...DJ's, equipment, BBQ stuff.....etc.

it's not a party, but the church of mez has a beach burn there every month or so, i think, until burning man. (www.mezziah.org)

that was sundazed!!! :)

heh, i chatted with swank about this earlier today. they did get a noise complaint, but the cops merely asked them to turn it down. the cops have every right to shut it down, though, if people complain. thank goodness house goes over well with most people. :)

so whoever did it must have done it right. </STRONG>
yeah... i learned today that the permits and insurance that NRR procures to hold sundazed costs them several hundred dollars (and the permit doesn't make them immune to noise complaints!). if you like sundazed, don't forget to give them some support so they can keep throwing them!
