a collaboration, an experience, a state of mind. When electronic music lovers venture out over the weekend, naturally they choose what best fulfills their tastes. Often, it seems, we settle into the comfort of a familiar format and forget to explore what else is available throughout the local dance scene. Late Night Mass will change this. Drawing from five of the most diverse production companies in Seattle and utilizing the area's most communal venue, we are combining our efforts to expand and expose all of these different pockets of energy to create one community, one dance floor, one mass of people. Bryan's first release on Intec was the Skufftones 1.0 EP which included the stunning "Algebra", a real techno disco workout that blew up for a variety of DJ's
such as Danny Tenaglia, Derrick May and Slam; showing why he's a true original in the techno scene.
Taken in by hip-hop, punk, graffiti, design, and different forms of electronic music, this Virginian has lived a creative youth.
From playing in bands and being surrounded by a strong musical family (his father still performs), his ears are tuned when it comes to hearing an original sound.
From an early love with hip-hop and house music, he found other roots of electronic music as influence.
Devo, Kraftwerk, Inner City, Cabaret Voltaire, Skinny Puppy, Eric B & Rakim, Basic Channel, Rob Hood, and Jeff Mills – they've all held Bryan's ears closely at one time or another.
Bryan first made his name in electronic music as Barada (the name was taken from a Star Wars character) on Richie Hawtin and John Acquaviva's legendary Definitive label
with now classic releases such as "Medicine Drum" and "Glue". After a string of singles on labels like EXperimental, Bush and Clashbackk among others, the time came for a full length Barada album "Strategies for a Deeper Design" released through Definitive and Virgin Canada.
And it was that rare thing, a house album that told a story.
Bryan is one of the few 'performing' artists of the house/techno genre and boasts one the meanest live sets in dance music that has rocked The End in London, Bugged Out!
in Manchester, Florida135 in Barcelona, Twilo in NYC and The Arches in Glasgow.
Somewhat of a studio workaholic his unrelenting output has lead to the release of high quality gems on labels such as Zozan Music, Plus8, Circle, Morris Audio, Primate, Tronic,
Electrix and Superbra to name a few.

The first time I saw Bryan Zentz dj was about 6ix years ago while visiting back home in Minnesota. He was playing in the back room of a bar close to downtown Minneapolis. I left dripping in sweat. :)

Zentz is a MACHINE!

a machine to end all machines. he is one of the best DJs in the world...hands down! i have seen him play in 4 different cities over the course of 6 years now, and i'm sold. whether it's been techno, deeper grooves or tech house, he nails it with countless effort and a humble "cool". he is a "knight of norfolk".

I recently bought an older analog synthesizer (Roland Juno 60) and a Syndrum analog drum synth from 1972 that I have been incorporating into my live set......, and the bass I've been messing with, is earth shaking...nothing like good 'ole analog bass oscillation....
Expect a banging dub flavored set....can't wait....

Coming up quick. 1st time I caught Bryan was @ a Tronic Treatment afterhours in Detroit during DEMF back in 2003-4. The back room of The Works was packed to capacity and he played a set that has forever been etched in my brain, I've never felt so much energy in one little room before. Really excited for this show!

I always have an awsome time at the church of bass. The decibel parties were amazing and the last time I went to Late Night Mass I danced all night until 4a..
The last time I saw Bryan Zentz was at Broken Disco last year and the place was bumping and packed. I hadn't heard of him before that but now am a big fan.
I will be there all night again!!

The doors are at 9pm and it's $8 before 11pm. If you look at the show info post it is at the bottom of the page...
The reason it is 21+ is that there is a full bar until 2a so we can't have minors according to the Washington Liquor Boad.
