Joe Nice founded New York's Dub War club night, which has hosted performances by prominent British dubstep artists such as Hatcha, Kode9, Mala, Loefah, and Skream among many others. In 2005 music journalist Martin Clark also praised him for his access to new dubplates (in contrast to other American dubstep DJs) and willingness to play tracks by lesser-known producers. Wicked video from this past weekend's Dub War in NYC. Joe Nice and his Dub War allies hosting Instra:mental and Vaccine. Joe Nice bringing the house down at 7:20 - serious drop!!!

Amazing new sounds coming from Instra:mental and Vaccine. dBridge and Instra:mental's upcoming Fabriclive mix disc is outstanding and Vaccine's forthcoming remix of 'LFO' by Kito has been on my want list for months (you can hear a bit of it in the video)... pls release it soon Skream! It's awesome the Dub War hosted an event with such a wide array of new bass music!
I'm getting excited and it's only January!

Hahaha. Yes indeed, it's Joe Nice's birthday weekend. I forecast an extra amount of bass for the date!
Also, an unofficial poll:
What is the cake flavor of choice for bass lovers?
Post 'em up. Where are my Carvel whale cake people at?

I think the thing you need to know is that joe was the first
person that I know of to really rep dubstep hard in the states
at least on the east coast/local level. It might have as well
been national though. He had dubplates cut of no-name
producers and really got so many people hooked on it.
Gah, I ramble. H$M has been bringing heavy artists through
that I keep missing, but this I have to go. No option not to.

This (at least for me) was one of the primary reasons why booking him was a no brainer.
Oh and I guess this:

From Dubstep Forum regarding Joe Nice's birthday weekend + Seattle set:
We'll let the people decide on the cake. Needless to say, we'll all be eating cake that night. Small pieces.
Loading up on new bits as we speak -- looking to have security drag me away from the decks.
