Best location of a party EVER! The location of the party alone was awesome, and all the fucking talent playing was the icing on the cake that made people say "would you like some cake with your icing?".

So, funtimes had by a buncha folks, but we've got somethings missing:
LOST:
A triangular backpack with a number of clothes inside and a cell phone.
There was an adidas jacket, black jeans, a red polo, a dead boost mobile
phone and a set of housekeys. No money inside, but we'd really like to get
this bag back, the person who owns it worked really hard for the party and
it's really unfortunate that this was the result.
Please contact us about either of these, review later after my feet stop
hurting and the drumbeat in my head goes away : )

I had SOOOO much fun last night!!!
I had a blast working the door and running sound.
Super sleepy today, but it was totally worth it.
I really enjoyed Lazy Rich's set.
And Baby Demo, killed it (the power and all ;) )
As always Skunky Beats pulled off a killer party and I was so stoked by around for it!
p.s. that is the dirtiest I've gotten at a party in years! The walls were dripping with condensation. :D

Lots of fun in what is possibly the most awesome venue in Seattle. I ended up working at the last minute, bringing in some extra sound for the Covert Ops room. Or at least I tried. The room totally bumped until the circuit serving the DJ table became overheated and started tripping constantly, so we had to shed most of the load from it. With nowhere else from which to draw power, there was no way to fix it--unfortunately the rear fills had to stay off. The venue lacks an engineering diagram for the power, so it's something of a crapshoot pulling it--we drew from a ceiling-mounted receptacle in the room next door, and it turned out (bizarrely) to be the same circuit as the DJ table. Making matters worse, the breaker was--for some reason--only 10 amps. Oops.
Anyway, despite the sound bleed and power problems we experienced, the Artsbrewery was packed! There had to have been more kids than last time, because all three stages were completely full most of the night. I think the evening's peak was between 1am and 2am on the main stage--lighting by Muvment a perfect accent to the groove. The outdoor stage was a really nice addition, and I think this space would be great to use in the summer.
One thing I did notice missing from this show was respect. Perhaps it was the venue, gritty and graffitied, but people knocked a table over without putting it back up and threw water bottles cavalierly everywhere outside. It's going to be a huge amount of work for the crew to clean up the neighborhood. Despite there being a huge smoking area, people lit up cigarettes all over the place inside. Most surprisingly, someone even broke the latch on one of my cable boxes and removed the lid so he could sit on it. Of course, this broke the lid in the process. Yes I know it's nasty to sit on the floor but c'mon, folks... road cases, cable bins etc. belonging to the DJs, sound techs and lighting crews should obviously be off limits. If it's not yours, please don't touch it.
Overall, though, I had a lot of fun. Lots more went right than went wrong. I was surprised at how many familiar faces I saw--I'm really going to miss Seattle.

Wow...it really felt like an old school rave with the dirty grungey warehouse and multiple rooms. I had lots of fun dancing for hours, mostly at the Snoochy stage, but I was flitting around to all of them. Wasn't really feeling the happy hardcore at the first stage but I was satisfied by lots of drum and bass and electro at the other stages.
Wasn't happy with the security chick letting in people ahead of me after waiting in line for a half hour, especially when I had bought a presale and these people hadn't even gotten presales. Grr.... There really needs to a presale line to facilitate with flow.
I was feeling a little feisty with my dancing last night for sure. Some kid tried to push me out of the way so he could have more room to do his bunny hop dance. I had to show him up for that behavior....ha! You try to push me out the way you will be humiliated! Bunny hoppers just can't compete! I was in the fight dancing mood, doing a lot of kicks and spins.
Got a nice compliment from a guy who told me I was way sexier than any of the thong wearing teeny-boppers with my full coverage outfit that revealed no skin. Maybe someday some of those girls will understand that less really isn't more. Silly girls!
Yay! My feet were throbbing at the end of the night, always a good sign.
p.s. that is the dirtiest I've gotten at a party in years! The walls were dripping with condensation. :D
My sailor pants are filthy now and that was just from splatters from dancing. Can't imagine how dirty the people sitting on the floor got...ugh!

There's no need for a big review on my part. This party was amazing and had the best oldschool warehouse vibe feeling i've seen in years. Grungy, dirty, loud, smokey, slight rain, and big lines; it's a good thing. (to quote Martha Stewart)

Big thanks to everyone involved. Lots of hard work went into this show.
My highlight of the night was hearing luna-c's remix of sesame treets....AMAZING. The man is a genius and can produce anything. I been wanting to bring him here since I moved here and finally got the chance to do it.
Sorry to hear about the waiting in line forever with presales. We are thinking of a better system to streamline the line.
Thanks to everyone who came out for my birthday party. It is one I will always remember and wouldnt have happened without all of you there.
Oh its still the year of the skunk.....we are not looking anywhere but up.

Killer party!! Luna-C and Hardcore Saves the World! My night was made, my ears still ring, and I ache all over, I will agree with T-Profit there was a bit of disrespect going on, but I think there was a healthy slew of responsible ravers that came together and pulled through in the end, when it really mattered. Thanks for an amazing show everyone, will do again!

i'm glad people didn't let the rain dampen their gettin' down at sb5! a little grime and mud never hurt anyone, and we'll all be looking back at this night and wish all nights were all like this. sigh i'm already reminiscing. har.
all the djs were amazing! i didn't get to see much of the hardcore sets, but what i did see, was amazing! luna-c omg!
i agree with what T said about some issues with respect... perhaps the old school warehousey vibe made people forget that this was a 100% legit party, meaning no smoking inside, people! sheesh.
thanks again, skunky beats, for stepping up the bar and letting me be a part of something great.

YESSS!! that's what I'm talking about. I had to hose off the shoes I wore last night.. and pretty much need to throw the socks away.
My husband was the one on crutches last night and his cast is totally covered in mud!
On the respect note, when you see someone on crutches or limping you should move out of the way for them... just common courtesy.
For the most part people were but there were several people who just stomped on his foot or tripped him, not giving a fuck.
Whatever karma is a bitch. Maybe someday those kids will go to a show while injured and get stomped on.
Night was well amazing!
Like everyone else I gotta give props to the two things that made my night one to be telling the wee ones about when I am balding and gray. Seeing Luna-C tear down every EDM wall and let a torrent of Poppy rave tunes explode on the dancefloor, and our own illustrious rave debutant and prince of plur aka Hardcore Saves The World sending us a message of a green community via rapping invertebrate. I pretty much tried to stay in a constant state of confusion just because of the expression it leaves on my face. (to quote Johnny Depp)
Vibe was nice, the mud was muddy, and music was loud, about everything I expected then some. Thanks for making it happen Chris and crew. Was nice to finally meet Luna-C as well!
And like all good NWTekno post end,
WE NEED PICTURES!!!! BUMP!!!!

Me and my sweetie Jon had a great time! Note to self, no wearing white at this venue. My skirt got really dirty. Next time I will go in all black. Well It all depends on the venue really. Some places like motor are easy to get a good crowd shot. I tried to get a few from main stage and the lighting just wasn't working with me. As for how it was set up, I DO have a couple of the main and 2nd stage from far back. :)

Most of the security detail spent their time at the entrance standing around barking orders while one (1) person handled regular will call tickets. I bet if there were a couple people doing non-VIP will call checking, the line wouldn't have been two hours outside and more staff could float around and monitor the other ways of getting in. But, I'm not bitter or anything.

All I have to say is that I worked Security/ticket counter for four hours because people scheduled to come out and work it didn't show up. YES the line should have been divided up by will call and cash, but I think the crew realizes that now. Sorry someone got booted for smoking weed, that's probably just because of the venue or discretion of that security person, not the Skunky crew.
Also, the will call list and the VIP list were the same list... part of the problem was that people getting up in line weren't paying attention to the people behind the table trying to keep them in order. The line was ridiculous, but I"m sure the crew will learn from this experience and get things organized.
I hope you still had fun, it was a pretty bad ass party.

was a badass party
Aside from the girls bathroom being absurdly disgusting this party was great
the slush on the dancefloor was a pain
and the technical diffculties in the far room were lame
along with the constant underage females puking their guts out EVERYTIME I went into the bathroom.......
but those would be the only complaints =)
what was with the people from idaho with the For Science shirtS?

This is because the sound system was too big for the power we had in that room. We were misinformed about the size of the breakers. We had too much hooked up and kept blowing the breakers. Once we got it adjusted things were fine. This is a simple fix and should be okay for the next show (20 amp circuits are needed, not 10amp circuits) :D

I'm not surprised in the least that a lot of people on here are stating that Snoochies gave them the "best night of their life."
It's that music, it's that venue, it's the entirety of the vibe you guys create that breeds such great experiences. Skunky Beats, you guys proved once again that you throw the best parties in town. A.J.'s right, you guys are setting the best example for the other promoters in the area.
In the spirit of oneandoneisone's post, I'd thought I'd share a little before and after of my garb as well.

All I know about circuits is I've got a dedicated 20 amp for my bedroom.
I know right? My bathroom has a 20 amp circuit. We figured, giant warehouse, used to brew beer.. probably has 20 amp for 110v at all outlets...
Oh well Baby Demo was glad that he literally killed it, three times! BOH BOH BOH

I'm not surprised in the least that a lot of people on here are stating that Snoochies gave them the "best night of their life."

those are some clothing battle scars to be proud of! :)
like i said before, it was an honor to be part of this night. even though i was working water/coat check with picasso and paxus almost the whole of the night, i could feel the goodness seeping from every corner of the place! the skunky crew did this with love and care.
2005 was the beginning of Skunky Beats Productions in seatown. 2010 is a celebration: The Year of the Skunk! i feel confident that these guys will continue raising the bar for many years to come.
