I am trying to do something like Mt. Tabor, but a little bit bigger. I am debating sundays and or Thursdays. These would most likely be outside with plenty of room to dance and a huge diversity of music. these events would only be $5 donations. Does anyone think it's worth putting my money into? :confused:

Sundays would definitely be a better use of time if you are at all concerned with getting a larger crowd...

thursdays are nice, but too many people have to work the next day and going to a weekday event and working early the next morning doesn't fly with most people

If you're going to do it during the day, do it on Sunday (weekend) when most ppl aren't working. (I assume the majority of ppl work during the day?) Also, it would kinda be like an after party for some ppl.

Also, in my experience with throwing outdoor gatherings, it is very difficult to recoup expenses with donations (i.e., ppl aren't very motivated even if they do see a donation jar or even if a real live person comes around with a hat). And, of course, it's impossible to enforce that all who are partaking in the enjoyable music make a donation (no walls outdoors). I don't think you should expect to even recoup your expenses, unfortunately.

That said, I'd go for it :D Portland would love it

I am not gonna freak if no one donates. And I would only expect family to donate anyways. I am going to stick with sundays. And I will post up information in the upcoming/collaboration as well. Peace and luv guys, and thank you very much for your input!
