I'm sure all of you TRUE ravers know what Burning Man Festival is. But if you don't, find out about it!! It's without a doubt going to be the most awesome experience of your party lives!! images/smilies/smile.gif I kid you not. I believe that there is a website. Try Umm...Burningman.com?? It's in the Nevada Desert. No cops, just rangers to keep us all safe, they're usually just as fucked up as we are though. Last week in august. All week long!! Anywho~~ I was just wondering if anyone knows how much ticket are up to right now. I know they started out pretty cheap, but chances are they are outrageous now. I'd like to know though. Thanks kids!!

Hi Starburst, I'm not going, but one of my main kidz is all about Burningman. He's like a whirling dervish when the subject comes up. I'll ask him how much they are (I wanna say over $100, but I'm not sure) and get back to you soon as I can.

just for the record... Burning Man has NOTHING to do with raves or ravers... other then the fact that a handful of ravers go... and a few people set up soundsystems - maybe making up 0.5-1% of the Burning Man Population...

however, it is indeed an incredible experience...
www.burningman.com (http://www.burningman.com)

Currently available are 6000 $165 tickets, they will be sold until June 30th
or until supplies last.

from my personal experinece... RV is no good at burning man...

its really expensive, and it gets TRASHED... expect to lose your damage deposit... it will NEVER be the same... the elusive playa dust that just doesnt go away... there are several other problems as well...

In 98, i took an RV with 7 other people... from Seattle... rented from the cheapest place i could find... Cruise America... in the end, after rental cost (16% rental tax) extra gas miles, actual gasoline, and damage... it was about $2500... it wasnt the actual money that made it so shitty... i mean... it came out to about $300 a person... it was the living situation, and the small cramped quarters of an RV... that year was probably my least favorite year at BM...

if you are seeking a better alternative... there are many resources on the net on how to build PVC shade structures, which tend to be a favorite among BM participants...

this of course is just my oppinion.

Well I was thinking of just going by myself or with a SO if I had one at the time. I thought maybe it wouldnt get trashed if there werent as many people. But you have tickled my brain. Maybe bring a 5 ton and pimp it out with old thrift store furniture or just bring a truck with a mess load of lumber and like 9000 feet of tinfoil. give me some more of your ideas.

Thanks,

Yeah, I didn't think Burningman was a big "raver" thing, either.

I don't think she said anything about it being a rave, she just said it would be one of the best experiences of your party lives images/smilies/smile.gif Im not trying to sound rude ok images/smilies/smile.gif just clarifying a little.

as of monday, tix are now $185.

once you get inside the camp, money is no good. the water is free, they have bathrooms, and food shouldn't be a problem. of course, you'll want to bring your own, but, think about it.

how much would a week-long stay in a hotel be? it would be a helluva lot more expensive than $185. considering that this is going to contain more energy and love than the Hilton, i would say the price is worth it and then some.

i'm heading down from portland. right now, i have room for 3 people in my rig, but i'm leaving early to help set up a theme camp (Technicolor Forest...you should check us out).

carfel fred, i think all your seats are taken now. images/smilies/smile.gif
If you all missed out on the BM thread, drop me a line. There will be no further "Public" posts on this. Me and Manoj are going to make and distribute a flyer to family so go see your favorite promoter or DJ for one. Otherwise keep the vibe alive and we hope to see you all participate.

Just got word...

BM2000 will be held at the same location as 1996...

96 was my first Burn, and the space KICKED ASS - compared to any area used since then... it was like a fucking treasure hunt...

"drive exactly 12 miles in that direction. turn right 90 degrees... drive 2 miles..."

all on open playa... it was like an adventure into outer space...

IM SO EXCITED!

I'll be there chillin w/ the Fey Abbey and Church of Mez camps. How to find me? Look for the gigantic 50-foot tower w/ naked people all over it. I'll probably be somewhere nearby.

If you think the water is free you will die on your second day that you are there .
you need to bring 2 galons of water per person per day . ther are no spectaiters only paticipants .so please bring enoff water for your self please please please.
think about it you will be in the desert of nevada for a week the up to 115* heat can be very unforgiving.
if any of you have gone to burning man in the past i am sure you know what i am talking about .
so if you plan on going please go to the burning man web sight and do some reserch.

love crystal

p.s. see ya there
