---MEGASOID--Vancouver B.C. Canada--
http://megasoid.net/
http://soundcloud.com/megasoid
Megasoid started in the winter of 2006/2007 as a Montreal-based mobile sound-system making aggressive street-bass-remix music. For the following 3 years they spent their time playing their music out of vans, throwing amps in basements for live sets, lugging modular synths to rooftops and setting up big PAs under bridges and at after-hours spots, over time transforming the format of the group from a 2-man Live P.A. setup to a long-distance writing partnership, presented as a 1-man mobile A.V. setup.
Moving from street/loft parties where they created thier signature sound to large capacity clubs (which they’ve occasionally been known to get kicked out of), Megasoid’s ‘Turbo Crunk’ parties in Toronto and Montreal have gained momentum and become one of the most notorious franchises in North America. In turn, Montreal has become one of the few cities with a legit scene for street-bass music, and is home to its own version of slaptop beats being honed by friends in L.A., S.F., N.Y., Glasgow, Berlin and Japan. Megasoid recently re-located to the west coast and is looking for a monthly spot to throw serious parties in Vancouver.
Megasoid remixes and mixtapes have garnished serious attention and praise from highbrow music critics and reputable DJs alike, and their illegal parties are legendary, check for such things as the internationally acclaimed “Bridge Burner” event for footage or photos. Their leaked tracks and remixes have built a serious anticipation for their first album, which is currently in the works. In the meanwhile, expect some of their legit remix work to surface, as well as a rap EP to surface summer 2010.

Equally at home hanging from a tree branch or bouncing off concrete, Santa Cruz’s Timonkey (Tim Donlou) fuses organic and synthetic elements together in order to bridge the worlds of nature and technology:
Timonkey says, “Branching patterns, mineral lattices, geological timescapes - the living earth is as much an influence on my music as King Tubby, Bernie Worrell, or Steve Reich ever were.”
From its roots in dub, funk and ambient music, Timonkey’s sound has been evolving further into the synthetic realms of midtempo glitch.
He crafts his tracks using a combination of found sounds, analog synths, live instruments, and software wizardry, all from under the shade of the ancient redwoods. Influenced by years of collaboration with the 13 Moontribe, Raindance, and Nexus crews, he brings a unique flavor to the West Coast underground.
Muti Music released his instant classic sounding trip-hop / downtempo album “Mammals on the Brink” in the Fall of 2007 and 2008 has seen the emergence of Timonkey as a production force to be recognized, his 2008 ‘Cerulea’ album will be turning heads for quite some time

Marion Max is a fashion designer with an eye for your behind. Yes, this 24-year-old Portlander is looking at your butt -- imagining which one of her latest handmade fanny packs will best accentuate your bottom.
As a lover of live music, Marion began altering vintage purses several years ago, turning them into hip bags as she realized that she and her friends could dance hands-free with the addition of a chain. As people began to take notice and demand increased, Marion realized she could create the vintage look from scratch. Now she employs recycled scrap leather and fabrics in her designs.
