so it occurs to me these days I know fuck all about any genre that is classified as something other than dnb (and trance or UK HH).
But I like to play this stuff on occasion when I'm not playing DnB, don't know what it is, but its not DnB

yeah, someone said it was tech house, but i dunno.
when i get this stuff on beatport (who i think can be hit and miss on genre labeling) it all comes from techno, deep house, progressive house, tech house and that first track is definitely breaks (though beatport had it labelled as dubstep). If i include my vinyl it also dives into some trance...=P

lol...130bpm drumstep.

i think i'm going to make a style of music called dubcrow since i can't figure out how to make a wobble bassline. instead of bassline i'm going to give it classic hoover samples as a bassline.
everyone will be like, "dubcrow isn't a real genre"

actually i will make dubstep with a donk instead of a wobble, and that is what i will call dubcrow.

it's definitely house and techno and tech house and breaks... maybe a little progressive... it's definitely not "nu" anything or anything "step" or "dub"anything... it's good and it sounds a lot like my record bag about a year or 2 ago.

^^^Glad you like it!!! can't imagine tossing nu in there anywhere, that's approaching a whole new area of stuff i just don't know AT ALL.

sorry to have to break it to you this way and now after we've spent so much time discussing your new genre, but looks like someone else already did it.

next step in the process of an aging dj... start playing this style at 125 or slower... gray hairs to follow. :D
IrisSilverMoon
11-10-2010, 09:09 AM
haha...the only reason it isn't 125 or slower is because the first track was at 140 and I had to slow it down so much to be able to play it with all the other tracks.
