Born Travis Stewart on March 4th 1982, Machinedrum has produced and composed several albums under various aliases since his first independent release in 1999. Covering an astonishing variety of styles with ease, he has always been a trailblazer - bridging the gap between genres that would otherwise never have met before.
His debut Now You Know, was released in 2001 on the influential Miami-based Merck Records and gained worldwide attention and praise from musicians, fans and critics. It was heralded as the "standard to which the next wave of imitators aspires" by Pitchfork.com
Having a strong background in both acoustic and electronic instrumentation, he dances between those elements on all his releases. This can be heard in the field recording and vintage synth laden Urban Biology to his seminal production and mixing of the This Charming Mixtape with MC Theophilus London. His critically acclaimed 2009 album Want To 1 2? was the latest showcase of his most recent production. With a combination of the songwriting skills of Timbaland, huge club sound of Daft Punk, and crafty experimentation of Aphex Twin, he manages to bring a new and bold take on electronic music.
This summer, Machinedrum is dropping his Many Faces EP on LuckyMe and he will be performing alongside other label mates at Sonar Festival in Barcelona. Under the name Sepalcure, he’s also releasing the Love Pressure EP on Hotflush with friend and collaborator Preveen Sharma- a sound they describe as "an exploration of chopped up 90s diva house acapellas and wooden sounding snares reminiscent of UK funky and dubstep".
A true electronic music Renaissance man, Machinedrum blends together current pop music standards and trends with his own extensive knowledge of experimental production techniques, delivering his quality signature on every thing he touches.
SALVA - (Frite Nite, Friends of Friends, SF)

Salva doesn't do genres. This 28 year old writer and producer has spent the better half of his life exploring every bastardization of electronic and sample-based contemporary music, and refuses to settle into any textbook category. Growing up in Chicago in the 80's, his early inspiration stemmed from early Electro and Freestyle, to classic analog House and the advent of Ghetto House (now known as Juke). By 2001, Salva had the first exclusive Electro Bass weekly party in Miami Beach, and was active planning and playing Winter Music Conference parties and big South Beach club nights, deep into the thriving IDM and Drum and Bass scenes in one of the epicenter's of American underground music. By the middle of the decade he moved back to the midwest and dove into Indie and Hip Hop production, writing and producing for artists on labels like Colombia, Domino and Rhymesayers.
Since relocating to the west coast, Salva has performed live and DJed in several countries and most major cities in the US, sharing the stage with countless syndicated acts. In the wake of Grime and Funky UK-centric dance music, Salva's productions and remixes have been played by Mary Anne Hobbes, DJ Craze & Kill The Noise, Gilles Peterson, Starkey, Lazer Sword and many others, featured on some of today's quintessential radio shows and blogs and podcasts like 2Dopeboys, LuckyMe, XLR8R, FACT, BBC Radio 1 and Big Up Magazine. Salva's original music and remixes have been featured on releases alongside artists like Flosstradamus, Dubbel Dutch, B. Rich, eDIT, Boreta, Jahcoozi, P.O.S., Lorn, Mike Boo, Walter Meego, and many more, spanning several different styles of music across several independent record labels in the US, UK and Japan. His own imprint called Frite Nite has helped to brand the careers of several up and coming underground stars, with a catalog of releases celebrated all over world. Locally he is active in one of the most forward thinking weekly events called Change The Beat, which has been a staple in San Francisco for almost 5 years. Currently Salva is putting his eclectic range of influences to back into his work consulting on major label pop productions, while continuing to develop his own brand of underground experimental dance music.
