I am happy for Oregon getting to the BCS title game! I think both Auburn and the Ducks match up equally. It should be a great game. I have been watching ESPN today and everyone is hating on Oregon. I don't get it.

Not one person is picking the Ducks to win.

Why are they hating? Because the Ducks have never won a meaningful game ever. Their record in bowl games is absolutely horrid. And on top of that Auburn has Cam Newton.

I must say their pepband & drumline (/marching band) are fantastic. If I were going to grad school for music performance (I play the tuba), it would be to UofO. I don't watch the game for the sports, I watch the game for the band! Go band geeks! :D

I don't want to. I was saying if I wanted to, that's where I would go. It doesn't take much to go back and forth from the sousa to the tuba. If I had the chance to choose though, I would pick a marching tuba over a sousaphone.

This. Rooting for Oregon but the matchup isn't exactly neck and neck. Still close and they can pull it off if they can stop getting penalties.

I have a really hard time talking sports with people on this forum. Most are really fanatical but know almost nothing about the sports they supposedly follow. I like Pac10 football, I really do. I'm not an Oregon fan, but wouldn't be upset if they won. What Ducks fans, and everyone for that matter, need to understand is that this is SEC football. There are MAYBE three or four players on this Ducks team that could start for Auburn. SEC is a different level of football. It's why NFL drafts (and teams) are dominated by SEC players. They're bigger, stronger, and meaner. That's not to say that a really fast Pac10 team can't match up with a good SEC team, because we've seen it happen occasionally. But you have to understand that, on top of Oregon's record in big games, that's why nobody gives the Ducks a lot of credit.

Tough loss for Oregon fans, eh? I was listening to it on the radio while working but it seemed like that big play on their last drive hurt them more than it helped. It ate up too much of the field. Too much time left on the clock to give it back to them when they scored. Number two isn't bad.

I didn't really care about who won or not, I just feel that both teams didn't perform as well as they could have. It was a close game, but it could have been much better.

(I could care less about football though, if I am not on the field with a camera or in the stands with an instrument, my attention span is limited)

Seems a lot of people who don't like sports always feel the need to point it out. It's the qualifier before some uninformed critique is made.
