View Full Version : What would you all call this!?
It has almost has a breakbeat, but also has a Techno feel with a bit of a Psy progression. Maybe I'm tripping but would love to know what you all think and could send more towards me of this style :P ;) Hope everyone is enjoying their night!!!

Thomas Krome is a generally a Swedish Techno producer. This tune definitely has a breakier, psy feel to it. Not sure what else you'd like to know. You might be interested in someone like Sven Vath.

ya i'd say it's combining influences of techno with big beat / chemical breaks (like the late 90s stuff like prodigy, crystal method etc). check out dj hell, mr oizo, kanzleramt records... also sven vath's label cocoon... look for early stuff like 2006 and earlier before shit all got super minimal in germany...

Hard Industrial Acid Breaks
for simplicity of a genre, we could call it Breaks
we could also call it hard breaks, industrial breaks, acid breaks
so when he asks, what would you call this,
what I hear, I'd call Hard Industrial Acid Breaks

I used to call the shorter loop, simple breaks party breaks, but I think when people say party breaks nowdays, they more or less mean clubby mashup breaks. This particular track does not at all seem like hard breaks to my ears. Thomas Krome is a Techno producer generally as already stated in this thread, and this track would easily mix with 4 on the floor as the kick does hit on 1 2 3 4 quarter notes (and then also on some of the 8th notes which sort of makes it into a breakbeat). I would just call it Techno Breakbeats, if I had to call it something.
You should check out some psy breaks. They are generally than slower psytrance (but not always), but have a a lot of the psytrance bug sounds and glitchiness. Not that this particular track is a psybreak really, just that I know you have stated before that you like some of the psy-crossover type stuff.
