i am so there. i love outdoor parties, but please tell me that you got your permits in order and we do not end up with another fiasco like thx-1138 a few months ago. the lineup sounds good and i know the area you are throwing this in. i will be there definitely . oh, is there going to be camping available?
till then, much love

Can you at least give us a general region? Like North of Seattle, South of Seattle, Eastern Washington, Oregon... I think people would be more apt to call an info line if they knew they could at least drive to it in a day or something... sorry if I'm being dumb though...

Hey! that sounds great - but I am new to the whole scene and was wondering if you could give more info on what to bring to an outdoor party. Any info ( a little or a lot) would help.
Thanks!

Please, please, please come early before the sunset. It is on very windy roads and it will be much safer if you get there in the daytime. And you will be able to enjoy the awesome views in the day too. What to bring:
a tent (if you want)
water
warm clothes (its gonna be windy and COLD)
good energy
there will be no toilets provided so learn to make do responsibly in the wilderness.
And kidz this is a renegade, back to the ol'skool. THX wasn't that much of a fiasco...I still had a good time there even though I only got to enjoy the last 15 minutes of it. (and had to haul the sound back in our truck-good thing for ford pickups!) So I repeat get there early so you can enjoy the sunset.

hey pandora.. here are some things i'd
recommend bringing to an outdoor event.
- trash bags (so that you can pack up
whatever you might bring with you)
- fruit (nothing like some yummy breakfast)
- toilet paper (you might be roughin' it, but some people still like having their tp)
- blanket (comfy to sit/chill on or wrap yourself up in if you are cold)
- hooded sweatshirt/jacket (just in case of rain or cold temperatures)
- marshmallows! (assuming there will be a campfire)
- earplugs (never know when the musik might be overly loud)
- red bull/energy drink/herbal energy (helps stay awake for the drive home and at the event too)
- flashlight!! (most likely you'll have
to walk down a trail or even just for seeing in your tent)
- glow sticks (if you're into glowsticks, they look much cooler when it's darker)
- tent (if you plan on staying overnight)
hope this helps!

I'm a Oly raver, we should carpool, we'd all probably fit in a geo metro with room for a few hitchhikers along the way... lets hook it up. I have 4 free spaces so far, I'm just now reading about this, and I might be in seattle area that day so mokey I could probably give ya a ride if ya still need one, or anyone other of my carless friends over there.... lets do this!

Okay so I counted all the people that are on my Olympia Ravers party e-mail list and I actually counted 20!!! There's a lot more I'm sure but we're just hidden in the trees.
So all the ladies will understand why I can't or shouldn't go to this party. My girlfriend is coming back from the midwest that day and I want to spend the evening with her. She doesn't go to parties and wouldn't have much fun. So being the hopeless romantic and good boyfriend that I am I am choosing a dimly lit dinner for two rather than the raucous fun party that you'll all be at. So no matter how much I want to go to this event, DON'T let me go!!!
However! It would be cool if all the Olympia people could organize an afternoon pre-meet that I can go to and see all of you together. I mean like at Dancing Goats or Old School Pizza just before you all caravan to the site...

This is making me drool. I've never been to a rave before, but I think outdoors would be the best, and a mountain top would be great. I am begining to seriously consider driving up there from Klamath Falls (southern Oregon) for this.

i think free outdoor events are way more
worth taking a roadtrip for than a $30
massive. plus it saves money, and you
can even camp there afterwards and not
worry about having to drive home all tired
and unhappy. people usually bring breakfast food for the morning, too!

That's it! I am soooo there. What do I care if I have to drive over 300 miles. This will be worth it. Luckily, I don't have to do it in one day. I got a friend in Portland, I'm gonna crash at his place Fri. and we'll drive up Sat. This will be great.

Guys and Gals,
Please Please Please stay warm and dry and don't get lost... lest we forget the lessons learned in Blair Witch.
The forecast that Steve gave is the same as of today and it's even breezy now plus a slight (20%) chance of a shower. So I'm sure it will be fun but only you dress for winter.
I can't go but I wish you all a good time and a safe time.

dante, add me to the oly list!! it is a joyful sunshiny day, despite power outages and speaker blow outs last night...see ya'll atop the mts!
That outdoor party was really horrible. For one it was cold as fuck and I don't think drinking mixes with raveing. I had to leave at 1:30 because I knew that NAFT was going to be a lot better than that hell hole.

I didn't go but I do appreciate people's efforts to have an event outside of Seattle and in a different type of location, especially outdoors.
I also think it's necessary to remember that promoters have no control of the weather and the people who ultimately end up attending. So when reviewing an event I think it's good to at least acknowledge this difference.
Plus um...it's late September in Western Washington and you're going to a mountain top...it better be cold or there's something wrong with the weather... 'nuff said.

Hello! I just wanted to say I had a great time! It is really awesome to spend some time outdoors! wow!! Did anyone else see how rad the moon was? And there's something else that's pretty awesome about hearing phat bass outdoors!! The sound traveled through the air amazingly after the wind died down! It doesn't bounce off any nasty ass warehouse walls!! Thanks guys!! I am glad I came.. and wonderful to have met some new people! I took some breathtaking pictures that I will send to Miss Kim.. Hopefully they will be posted! If you love the Earth and the beautiful NorthWest please go check them out! Props to everyone that donated their time and gear for some of us to have a fun and FREE night out!

I was there and even though it was really cold- just like i had expected it to be nad every one warnded that it would be- it was fabulous. I came up with the kids with the RV and except for some sort of tricky directions it was great- the moon was amazing and lit the whole place up. This party was way betterthan anything at naf- when was the last time you danced on top pf a mountain with a great view Olympia at night and amazing mountains on all sides?? I had to leave early for work the next day but don't bash an outdoor party for not being big, overcorwded and hot, and at naf...
have fun

I had a AWESOME time up there... yeah it was cold and windy, but u had to expect it, and once u started dancing you warmed up. I was sober and felt high because it was so awesome dancing outside under the full moon away from everyhitng. And I was the guy dancing on top of the RV, and my friend Jade and th owner joined me as well. Being up there was just so awesome, looking over everything, staring off into the lights and hills. I had so much fun. However some of my friends were huddling in thier cars and we left and went to NAF round 2, sure it was warmer, but did not compare to how I felt on top of that mtn.
Also if anyone found a black flashlight with a yellow stripe, which I lent to the efforets of setting up the turntables I'd like to see it again =o) it was my fav... But thanx to all you awesome people who went and had a good time, I had the best time up there.. too bad summers over.

My first rave, about 800 miles round trip, time well spent. It was cold, but that's the mountains. The vibe was great. Everyone was real nice. The worst attitude I got was from the friend I brought, maybe I won't take him raving again. (I hope he's not reading this!) Some strangers even worried that I was too fried to realize how cold it was because at the moment I had on shorts, sandals, and a t-shirt. (I have plenty of natural insulation if you get my drift.) Thanks to everyone who put it on, and thanks to everyone for being nice.

Hmmm....how did I know that someone would make such a negative post??? Well, I warned ya that it was gonna be extremely windy and cold (which it was) I was prepared in my ski parka and double fleece pants so I was pretty warm all night. About 50-60 peeps showed up, of course most of them were not dressed to the conditions. Things didn't get started until about 11:00...but as soon as the music started peeps were happy and dancing. Had to start a fire to keep everyone close to the music, 'cause people eventually started hiding out in their cars.
"Hell-hole"??? NAF is a hell-hole in my opinion. I would rather be on top of a mountain, enjoying the full moon and fresh beatz any night over NAF!!!! And you didn't even stay for the sunrise...Rainier looked awesome peeking over the clouds. As for the drinking, can't really control what peeps do. I didn't even see anyone get that rowdy, even though some folks were drinking. (Though my friend got attacked by a crazy woman who just wanted to...you know!)
Some peeps drove their motor home up the mountain and were dancing on top of it! Peace to all those who appreciated our efforts.
