well i don't know about sccc but if you want to know the best it's at shoreline community college. it totally kicks bcc ass in it. iwent to scc and it is definitely the best around, except for some ofthe equipmnt it's even better than seattle art institute. if you go there you'll know your shit by the time you done with you degree or classes. that is if you actually work at it. but yea scc is better than bcc and i'm guessing bcc is better than sccc. hope that helped a bit.

bruce was a tight teacher. i'm not sure about the new person taking his place since i've finished there but as far as the other teachers go there still cool and very good. and roddimus scc has one of the best in washington definitely in seattle. so don't start thinking just cause it cheap that it's cheap. very bad way to think in my opinion. anyways the program there prolly still rocks even w/o bruce but you wont get such a knowlegdgable guy as bruce to teach you probably. neways i'm out.

Since the board needs money, snd since Prince of Darkness/Rawker123/Nick whatever the fuck his name is today is such a great DJ, and he spins at "the biggest and best rave parties in the state" (His own words there). Than I say that we rent out a venue, have Nick spin and show us his stuff, then everyone who wants to can pay $1 to kick Nick in the ass. I bet we'd make alot of cash, and Nick would be so sore he wouldn't be able to sit down at his desk at his law office/production company/tech job/apartment for a couple weeks, which would keep him off the board and out of our lives, at least temporarily. See? Everyone benifits that way!

You know Nick, I know that everyone and their mother has tried to give you advice over the past few months, and who knows maybe you're listening.

i don't need anyone from this board's advice, nor have i asked for it.

HOW-EVER, i have been listening to the words of anyone who has made sense, and I have applied/compared the advice given to my own priciples and morals.

As I have said (often in other words) many times in the past:

if u want to do music or fine art, i'd suggest cornish. if you want to do corporate art (art you do to make money with, ie to make a living) go to the Art institute of Seattle, or any art institute for that matter. they're all over the country. doing fine art for a living is NOT a good idea unless you're a genius, have completely original ideas and style and know how to sell yourself. I know, i go to the art institute myself. Illustration is practically dead right now, especially here. you'd have to go to new york or los angeles to have a chance... competing against hundreds of other illustrators for the same thing you want. so yeah... that's all i have to say about that.

Yes, that's what's hurt traditional illustration badly.. is computers and the interenet... also stock illustration. in case u dont know what stock illustration is.. i'll tell you. illustrators can send in thier illustrations to a stock company such as Tony Stone, one of the big ones. but they go into a catalog, and company looking for an illustration will be like ooh i like that one, so buy they buy the rights to use it in thier ad or whatever. ALOT of the photographs you see in ads are from stock catalogs. They do this so they dont have to spend a ton of money hiring a photographer for the film and shit, same with illustration. its much cheaper that way.

As for illustration ever coming back.. I think it could... i mean, illustration is still out there. a good magazine to look at for that is Juxtapoz. you can do illustration with a computer, on a program called Painter, and you use a wacom board w/ an intuos pen with it. VERY cool :) heh... yeah, that's all i have to say about that :D
