why do you think i want to quit? there is no reason to even go sometimes. i work my ass off for what? some worthless piece of paper? if I quit now, i could start college or get a computer job that pays 15 $ an hour and be done with stupid high school forever. i'm not even allowed to post on the board at school. i have to do this in secret. what a bunch of bullshit.

this is not true. altho its a quick fix to just drop out, LOTS of places want you to have SOME degree (even computer jobs sometimes look for this, tho not all), just to show that you got through it.
and by the way, 15$ an hour for a computer job is like.. minimum wage or less in the computer industry. if you go to school and learn programming, etc... or teach it to yourself, etc... you should get a LOT more than that.
personally, im stickin with my college and getting my CS degree. because it may not matter for one computer job, but i dont want to be turned down for a job in the future and limit myself because i decided to drop out. and trust me, once you decide to drop out, you wont want to go back to school.

The WORST is when you study for like hours and hours for the wrong chapeter/section whatever by accident so when you sit down to take the test feeling all pumped up, you read the first question and are all like "WHAT?!?!?" images/smilies/biggrin.gif

Yeah, I've had that happen to me lots of times when I was in school.
And I think that instead of taking it as some sort of "waaaaaa, I HATE school WAAAAAA" bullshit pitty party, you should learn that perhaps you shouldn't be as cocky about how much you think you know.
My intention isn't to sound vicious with that last statement... but it's a life lesson that I think everyone should learn, sooner rather than later. You can't always be right, and you DON't, nor WON'T know everything there is to know. (Note that by the same token, this doesn't mean that you should stop learning, and drop out like Isis suggest you do. That's plain stupid.)
What you CAN do that is constructive in this situation is to learn from the experience. You did badly on a test? Well then... that was a fucked experience, but it gives you time to learn and prepare the things you didn't know, as a reflection of the results of the test.
Don't give up. Keep your head up high. Because, honestly... fruitful things happen when you stick it out and quit bitching.

Shut UPPPPP! 82 % is like a "B"....I dont know about you but I think an 82% for an abnormal psychology test you didnt even study for is pretty damn good.

rave pixi: arent you like 15 tho?
im not saying that to be derogatory (remembered your age from a diff post), but if you are still in high school, you can still afford to do that. when i was in high school, i never studied, ever. and i still had a 3.6-3.8 gpa. because some people can get away with that. i think a lot of this people in the thread are referring to college tho, not high school. once you get to college, its a totally different story. i went from doing that well in high school, to studying my ass off every single day (seriously, i have like no free time during the week), and i am content with C's, and happy if i get B's. its not cuz i dont try, its because the work gets IMMENSELY more difficult.
so yea, i think thats prolly where most people in the thread are coming from, being in college and doing horribly.
hell, i study so much for my calculus classes, i go in for help, and i still get low C's to failing on my tests and quizzes.
but like brenna said, its something you deal with. ive done much better in school now that ive stopped pulling the "i hate school so im gonna drop out" pity bullshit, cuz thats what it is. its the easy way out, to blame everything else and just say fuck it.
it takes a strong person to stick with it.

Rave pixi:i'm accustom of getting A's and i got a 82% on the psych class really got me mad. You know i hate to fuck up my GPA that i work so hard for because i was too lazy to study for that exam and beside that class is easy due to the instructor.
Sothis: What are you doing in calculus? Deratives? intergration? i hate that stuff

I hate higschool as well. But I did something about it. Go see your counselor and tell him or her that the highschool environment isnt working out for you at all. Tell them youd like to enroll in Running Start, which lets you go to school at a trade school or 2 year college. I go to pierce and its ALOT easier than highschool. You learn alot more too, its only easier because your actually in a learning environment with Instructors that dont call teaching watching a video. High School sucks, the pep assemblies remind me of Nuremburg, you cant go out and smoke a god damn cigarette, and everyones ALWAYS on your ass about something.

To the kiddies who are considering quitting school because, "it like, sucks major ass, dude," read this post, if you know how.
Maybe I'm old-fashoned, but I really enjoyed high school. Maybe times have changed since I graduated back in (gasp) 1993, but I had fun and I learned a lot. We didn't have head start, but I took a few AP classes that provided college credit. I had teachers that actually taught, and didn't just show us videos. My school wasn't riddled with clique-style popularity conflicts, either.
Has high school really changed so much in the past eight years? Or was I just lucky to have gotten a lot out of those four years?
Either way, it's important to get an education. If normal high school isn't working out, hit up head start. Don't quit. Quitting says a lot about your ability to function in society. Do you think a prospective employer is going to hire you because you dropped out of high school because you thought it was boring? Hell no. He'll assume you'll get bored with the job he's giving you and quit that too, or just stop showing up. The ability to start and finish an educational process, whichever process you choose, says a lot about your committment to life. People don't want quitters on their team, and quitters certainly aren't going to flourish on their own. If you choose to quit and face the word that fresh, you are going to have to spend a lot of years in crapsville proving that you can hack it. You might as well spend those years in school learning.
So make the right choice. You don't have to approach high school in a traditional sense. No one is making you. Do running start. Take community college classes over the summer. Attend trade workshops. Anything. People on this board often bitch that that school isn't worth a pile of ear wax. Well, I disagree. Any situation can be turned to your advantage. You don't like school, huh? Well, modify your educational experience so that you will like it. No one is going to do this for you. It's your life, and your responsability. Get your ass out of neutral and start learning in a style that fits your brain.
