View Full Version : Easter is a hoax

Well the History Channel, Learning channel, animal planet, and discovery are all part of Discovery. I am assuming if you try history.com or discovery.com you may be able to find more info. The History channel also had a special explaining all of the bible stories, like the destruction of sadam and gamor. They suggested that the one good man and his family that got out really set off a huga bomb and took off. Other ones suggest that a lot of the explanations in the bible sound like abduction stories. It's really interesting. The Jesus on is the one that really caught my attention because it makes so much sense. I am obsessed with religion. Not one in particular but I like to analyze how stupid some things are. Christianity is e really easy one to pick apart. There are too many flaws. You can ask a christian where the bible came from and 70% couldn't tell you. Moses wrothe the main part in hebrew and the translation to english butchered the hell out of it. The rest depends on the bible but it takes a lot of passages from the kabbalah.

It's really addicting. my ex was a pastor's son and so that's when I started to get into it. I would ask a question and they couldn't give me an answer and so that pretty much summed it up for me.

Hey, I saw that show! The one about Christ moving to the South of France with Mary Magdalene. And there was some priest who had some mysterious deathbed confession . . . It was a pretty creepy show. More convincing as to the existence of Jesus Christ than most other stuff I've seen.
Does that mean we can't eat Peeps and Cadbury eggs anymore?
@ngel

Yeah that was the show. it's scary how believable it is. I think he really did survive and everyone is believing in a false idol. Yeah he was a great man and all....
You can always eat goodies. The easter bunny is real.

I learned about this theory on the history channel.
Truth= Jesus was crucified at a PRIVATE crucifixion at a wealthy friends house.
Evidence= Jesus didn't die and was released a few hours later. His supposed resurrection was him getting his stuff. He moved to France and married his sweetheart.
There is a letter written by Jesus himself stating that he in fact lived and it was found built into an alter in a church in France. The priest who found it never told anyone until his deathbed. He told the priest giving him his final rites, and the priest ran out of the room pale, never to speak again.

There's a village in Japan that swears they have evidence of letters written 'by Jesus' that say he moved to their village, and is buried there, etc.
So HOLY JEEZ WHO DO I BELIEVE?
What's this on my desk.. why.. it's.. a LETTER FROM JESUS.. IT SAYS HE RAN AWAY AND LIVED WITH THE AMERICAN INDIANS AND MARRIED A GREAT GREAT ANCESTOR OF POCAHONTAS!

Easter is a hoax, as is the whole entire christian religion.
If anyone cares there was an article in time or on msnbc a little while ago with proof that darwin was correct.
Yet of course some christians responded with "god created evolution!" hahahahha.
What a load of bullshit.

yep. christians are probably the most stubborn people on the planet. everything MUST be what the bible says. when the pope accepted that the universe was created by the Big Bang (and he in fact DID a few years back), he said 'but god made the big bang happen'. what a load of crap.

I choose to believe whatever I feel is right.
I'm Christian, in that I believe in Christ. That doesn't mean I believe everything the Bible says.
90% of the Bible is written by people with no direct connection to God. Psalms for instance is said by some people to be the word of God - but it's NOT, it says right there in the first line of the book that it's the rules and beliefs set forth by a revered King. Some of Psalms is really good, some of it is utter bullshit. why? because it's the word of an outdated Man.
If you read the Bible, and take it with a grain of salt, realize that it's been translated 20 times to get where it is now, and have Faith only in the words that are directly from God, THEN it is a great read and a wonderful doctrine for life.
gee... if you do that, then those words are the same you'll get out of Buddism... and the same you get out of Islamic... oh wow! and they're the same ones you get out of Indian beliefs! and EVERY positive religion in the world!
God's word, in EVERY religion has remained true and unwavering...
it's merely the alterier motives and the words placed on top that, created by Man, that have poisened what religion and what God is really about.
thanks for your time.

One mountian top, many paths. Thats how I view religion. The bible has many things in it that contradict the truth. Jesus was born in the summer time and now we celerbrate his birthday at the time he would have been 6 months old. Alot of customs that are christain actually came from the acient wiccan and pagen religons, such as the christmas tree, which was adopted after the wiccan's used it in there religous celerbrations. The christains tryed to convert many people by adopting parts of the wiccan religon. There are many other examples like this. I am not saying this religion is wrong, for I believe that every religon is correct, and the path is finding the one correct for you, but i am saying this because every one should learn and be open to the fact that a part of thier religon may be commerical or that facts may have been changed for a non-religious reasons. To be narrow minded and not accept the truth is hypocritcal against every religion, including christaninty.

maybe more if you are lucky

christian haters are so obnoxious it's not even funny...
can't you just let people be? must you mock their beliefs? how unfortunate that because you don't have a faith of your own you must ridicule others....
i don't read the bible, but i'm a catholic all the same.
and ya, i have a letter from jesus that says he's my grandfather... so THERE!
i like kow's post, if people like him posted more i might actually enjoy the board instead of posting here just to correct the garbage people post on here.

another note...
if you've seen Stigmata, or even if you havn't... it has one of the best messages ever given in such a shitty movie...
in short, it's centered on the Book of XXXX [edited so I can find the name of the book], which is supposed to be the closest recount of Jesus' statements... the Vatican will not recognize it as a true recount, because the book would essentially destroy the Church and EVERYTHING that people think of what Christianity is about (on a shallow level)...
weather or not this truely His word doesn't really matter to me because I believe it anyway.
The Book, starts out:
"The Kingdom of God is within You and all Around You. Not within stone or wood. Split a piece of wood, and I am there; lift a stone, and I am there."
that is all, for now.

No shit, sherlock. It's nothing new that evolution is fact. Darwin didn't come up with "the big bang" theory (at least not to my knowledge), he merely came up with the theory of evolution. That being that living organisms adapt to their environment and survival of the fittest. Tell me again, how does the truth in that cancel out any supreme being(s) that may or may not exist? As far as i can see, the two are completely different all together.
Edited to say that i love that movie, and appreciate that quote very much. Glad someone else noticed it 'in that special way'.

trixie: I'm not a christian hater.
jesiah: But none of the Bible is the word of god. None of it even claims to be! All of the "word of god" books are written by people who claim that this is what god told them.
So essentially, you are reading a book, translated dozens of times by people with political agendas of their own, written by people who claim that they talked to god, or saw jesus, or hung out with, or whatnot.
Not to mention that the book is incredibly ambiguous at times, and has a lot of views on subjects such as slavery, homosexuality, and gender treatment that piss me off, but are commonly dismissed as being anachronistic and irrelevant fluff.
personally, I don't understand how, for instance, a woman could ever want to be part of a religion that dictates that she should find a male ASAP and do everything he says.
Anyway, I hope you all don't think I'm "hating" on christians or whatever, because I think this is simply a valid debate.

i turned on that thing that @ngel saw and fell asleep (or half asleep)and i had dreams that we based on the bits of information that i was hearing from the TV while i slept, but it was all fucked up,a mixture of this show, previews for other shows about to air on the history channel and commercials, basically the dream was twisted into this:
old buildings (like ancient)and landmarks from around the world were having pieces of them dissapear based on religious happenings such as a child of holyness being born or a religious figure dying. And religuous figures dissapearing were turning into mysterious additions to buildings...
at the end of my dream it was discovered that Jesus was now dirt (remains from one of those old churches or something that he turned into?) and he had been used in a cement mixture to build a Burger king in montana.
you can tell what commercial i woke up to.
that was perhaps the most confusing dream i ever had...i'm surprised i remember it...
anyways yah @ngel i suppose you could say i saw the show you're talking about..
man i crack me up
hooray for fucked up dreams!

no, seriously, read the Bible. page to page, like you would any good book.
it's VERY clear what are the true intentions of God (true, God never actually intended for the Bible to be written), and what are "political agendas"
seriously. you might surprise yourself and your views.
btw - ALL of Psalms (and various other books)is outdated and not worth one's Faith. there's a part that says "treat thy neighbor as thy self" - that isn't something I'll pay attention to, because it is from Psalms, clearly the word of a man.
The 10 Commandments, however, well, who can argue with that?
just because the people who taught you about Christianity weren't always right, doesn't mean Christianity is wrong.

Jesiah, I was christian until I was about 13. My pre-teen years were actually the most voracious reading years of my life.
I read the bible. Admittedly, I havent read it through in a *long* time, but that's because frankly, it seemed implausible and silly to me even then. And I have read parts of it since then.
I have morals, but I don't need a bunch of moral plays to dictate my behavior.
If there is a god, I wouldn't expect to need a ancient book to find him. You'd think any god of everything that created all etc etc would be apparent and obvious...
I'm not some kid who just didn't like sunday school jesi, I've done my homework here.

I agree completely.
I'm not really trying to support the Bible. Just pointing out how stupid it is of some people to completely throw something off without real knowledge or, more importantly, understanding.
I havn't been to church in about 3 or 4 years, nor do I believe in it as being a neccissary place to worship.
I don't doubt your views, in fact I think we're much along the same lines... I'm just presenting an argument from another perspective

i'm an extremely radical feminist, i'm also a catholic, i don't read the bible, i have no use for it, i subscribe to liberation theology, which is in the vein of a social justice solution. why are people putting such emphasis on the bible as the end-all be-all of christianity? there are many christians, per se, myself and jesiah for example, who are not morons who prooftext with the bible, so stop hiding behind that obvious fallacy.
peter was questioning the validity of the bible, one document in the vast world of religion, i think that's a valid point.
playitloud, i don't understand your point, are you mocking faith? i'm confused, could you explain?

looks like im a little late for this topic...but, it being easter and all....
The term "Kabbalah" translates literally into tradition, & refers to the tradition of Jewish mysticism. It was borne out of Judaism and the bible. There is no "Kabbalan Bible".
There is, however, the "Sefer Zohar". A 2,500 page book written by Moses de Leon in 1280 and is a combination of his own ideas and contemporary Kabbalistic elements
The Sefer Zohar is as close to a bible as you will get in Kabbalism, but obviously it was written quite some time *after* the bible.
Just thought I'd point that out....always be informed when you talk.

It was a pagan fertility holiday first, hence the eggs, I think.
Since I am anti-breeding and wish I didn't even have any eggs to begin with, to me it's just "the day before a shitload of candy goes on sale, marked down to 1/3 of the original price".
Peeps are scary too. Someone should blow up the lone Peeps factory...er....I mean the warehouse where they are stored (cuz I know they are just restocking stores with the same ole mofos that were on the shelf last Easter...and the Easter before. And the Easter before that). I'm sure they "keep" for about 28 years. We're looking at the same batches of Peeps our mamas were getting in their Easter baskets when they were little.

You are all twisted and should worship the true higher beings. Whom are extra terestrial life forms from other universes etc. We all know that man kind and evolution was perpitrated as an experiment. they needed to see if they could make a life form that had the capabilities to evlolve on a planet with climates they couldn't survive on in the capacity of their current form. They then came back and gave of the knowldege of a simple hieroglyphics system to see if we could grow further. Over the periods of time they have come back to share tid bits to see how we use it.
YES Jesus was a man! his father is e.t.

Is it just me or is it really moronic to make the statement, well the Bible is full of irrelevent material, and it's outdated, and I don't really follow or believe in the Bible, but I'm a Christian?
So you are basing your life, based on a religon, based on a book you don't even believe in?
To me that is a pretty strange world view. The Bible is considered by many to be the word of God, or Jesus. In fact, I asked a Jehovahs Witness what Jesus said about homosexuality (a personal old favorite, as Jesus never says anything at all about Homosexuals), well hes starts telling me what Paul said, and the tried to give me some crap about how Paul was ordained to speak for Christ, and la de da. So did God write the Bible? Did Christ? Were those who did ordained by God, chosen by God, were they speaking for God? If not, who and what were they speaking for, and what gives them the authorization?
So, is it just a pick and choose book, used to validate whatever you want, or are you supposed to follow the book to the letter? What makes you a Christian, if you don't subscribe to the words of Christ? And who wrote it, and under what authority??????
I'm confused!!
