Ok, My mom is a freak but I like to humor her ;) This explanation is gonna suck though because I have a horrid short term memory. She and my little sister recently flew over to Ohio to train to be laughter leaders. I guess this whole thing was started by some man in India or something. The idea is the laughter is the best medicine. I think this was partly inspired when some guy who was super sick (as in immobile) started renting as many funny movies as possible and just sat and watched them all the time, and for every twenty minutes of straight laughing he got an hour of being pain free. Anyways, someone had the idea to use laughter in the workplace to increase productivity. They started having special times where people would just get in their groups and practice excercises of laughter for short periods of time. It was working really well. Laughter in the workplace means less stress ^_^ So anyways, my mum took a class to learn how to lead these laughter groups. She practiced on me of course :D I have to say, just watching her teaching me the excercises cracked me up! But anyways, it's pretty fun stuff, and after laughing your ass off you feel super good. So it's worth checking out, especially if you've been feeling stressed out or something. I know it sounds superweird probably, my mom is a superfreak (in a good way), but hey, sometimes it's fun making a spectacle of yourself ;)

She and another woman are holding their first laughter club on Monday July 16, 7am (Ungodly hour, I know...), Greenlake the South side of the Community Center.

Anyways, if you think this stuff sounds intriguing, check out:
The World Laughter Tour (http://www.worldlaughtertour.com)

(I'm gonna rewrite this whole thing later after I ask my mom to reexplain it all to me ^_^)

Oh, that is so neat. I would love to be a laughter coach - actually getting paid to have people laugh at me instead of doing it for free all the time...
