Freedom of expression is exactly that.... any opinion that people want to post is their choice. Why repress them? I'd rather read and learn from my mistakes and other people's mistakes than be too afraid to post or read fake posts by intimidated people.

Why waste valuable board room simply agreeing with someone or saying something else that's positive, yet trite, like saying that the post is cool or that it needs to be bumped, or that "this party's gonna be tight!" ...?

You'll find that in many cases, people tend to post when they disagree, as they have motive to make their point. Whereas, if they agree, their point is more likely to have already been made, so they might not feel as motivated to post.

However, that's just one explanation as to why people tend to post negative posts. It makes sense to make a point if that point has not already been made.

And it's not just Etards who say posts are dumb or need to be locked. So don't use them as scapegoats.

Are you just talking about Etards? Or are you talking about people who say posts are dumb and need to be locked (many of which are not Etards)? Either way, why should people ignore a problem if they have one? It might not be the best remedy for everyone. Sure, ignoring problems works for some, but certainly not others. Personally, I'd rather solve problems and learn from then instead of trying to ignore them.
