Leprachaun was pretty funny...My favorite scary movie of all time though is Deliverance because there is nothing that freaks me out in this world like hillbillies, not killers, not ghosts, not even the devil himself. There is nothing as freaky as a genuine, toothless, ragged, straight off the bayou hillbilly!I'm shivering just thinking about it!

Well, i think Exorcist was the scariest. This is because I used to look like a spitting image of Linda Blair when i was younger. I actually scared my mothers relatives *they are like super dooper catholics*. Another movie that scared me was Scream. Know i lauph when i see it, but when i saw it i was like 11 or 12 and that shit scared the bejesus out of me. Also the movie brokedown palace scares me too. It scares me to think that it is so easy to put yourself in the exact same position as the girls in the movie. and it is scary to think about how some countries treat prisoners. another wierd fucking scary movie is this one movie with edward furlong and it is in a jail. its all these fucking wierdo's rioting and plotting with eachother.

I think the movie that scared me the most back in the day was Poltergeist. I was unable to go into dark rooms or closets or anything of the sort for weeks. Damn, that's still a scary movie. :)

Loop is right, Pennywise the clown from the movie "IT"
scared the shit out of me.
But I've got to give it up to Event Horizon, the scariest
movie ever. A close second has to be "The Goulies".
I was young when it came out. There was this one
scene where a goulie came out of a toilet. I couldn't
poop for a week.

Aside from the usual suspects(exorcist, poltergeist), did anyone ever see The Shocker? About a guy who went to death row and died in the chair, and was allowed to come back to life to exact revenge on people, a la The Crow, and he was able to jump into people's bodies and control them and harnessed the power of electricity?
And this may not be a scary movie, but who saw I Come In Peace? With Dolph Lundgren? Man, that was one gruesome movie.

I remember CHUD. CHUD scared the shit out of me. I was only like 5 when it came out though. I saw it about a year or so ago and realized how utterly cheezy it is. :p
Poltergiest II is really scary. Word to that. :) Reverand Kane is a creepy ass old man. P3 with Tom Skerrit is stupid though.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre scared the shit out of me.
Well, the first time I saw it anyway. The times after that it was mostly just humorous.

Absolutely positively, the scary movie that gets me the most is Steven Kings "It". I can't watch it to this day, and I have a valid fear/dislike of clowns to the point where I've almost punched one. No joke. Now, for a scary movie I can watch, well, if I can tolerate watching it, it wasn't that scary. But Cape Fear is one of my favs.

Shocker!!!!! HAHAHAHAHAH yeah, and the shocker dude was Mitch Pillegi, Skinner from X-Files haha that movie sucks! :)
I Come In Peace!! "you go in pieces asshole!" haha
I dont understand why so many people think "Event Horizon" is so freaky. its cool, but it could've been waaaay better. to me it just seemed like a cheesy attempt at Hellraiser in space. the idea is badass, the movie just got real cheesy once shit started goin down.
hmm some movies that are actually freaky?
-Texas Chainsaw Massacre
-The Shining
-Blair Witch Project (its all love or hate with that one)
-Hellraiser & Hellraiser 2 (especially if u get freaked by gore heh)
when I was little "Gremlins" freaked me out. it was all cause of the last lines in the movie when he says "if your vcr breaks etc etc, u might have gremlins in your house" I was like WTF!?!?! dont say that shit to a little kid! I remember gettin freaked by some disney movie about a ghost, forget the name all the time though..
has anyone seen the previews fro "Jeepers Creepers"? it comes out in october... the trailer makes it look like more cheesy teen horror crap, and yeah the name is lame, but Ive been reading a lot of GOOD reviews of it, sayin its more along the lines of Texas Chainsaw massacre and stuff.. story sounds cool too..

At least someone else remembers Shocker, I was beginning to think I dreamed that movie, and I have a hard time finding it in video stores. And that quote from I Come In Peace, haha, that was so classic, once I saw that, I could not stop saying it:) I'd be in the lunchroom, people would come up, "So Alfredo, what's up?" Me--"You go in pieces asshole!!" Them--"What the hell's you're problem?!!"

April Fools was kinda scary
In the Mouth OF Madness was a trip (literally)
The book IT was alot scarier than the movie however I do agree Pennywise is scary
Event Horizon was sittin on the edge of your seat kind
But one of my favorites was Believers.....cause that shit was close to being real.

gremlins really scared me when i was little... i thought they were under my bed .... Phantoms scared me, it has rose mcgowan in it. That's the most recent movie that's scared me. i dont know if it would scare me now. i kind of forget why phantoms scared me in the first place. Gore doesn't really scare me, theres just certain things i dont want to look at, cause i'll think of those things happening to me or them being real or some shit. hellraiser does a good job of that for me..
i dont know why halloween scares people so much....

This movie came out in 1996. I don't know why no one has heard of it before, but this one freaked the hell out of me.
It's this sci-fi movie, and it stars the same dynamic duo that headed the first Jurassic Park, only for some reason they both have foreign accents. And they board this ship to intercept a ship that's been missing for years, to find that it had just returned from hell.
This is one of those movies where the plot actually worked with the visual effects and I couldn't sleep that night at all :). Check it out!

when I was kid Amenityville Horror and Poltergeist and Pink Floyd the Wall gave me the nighttime jibbers, Jacob's Ladder was freaky, and I think Sixth Sense had a great creepy edge to it for a modern horror/scarey movie

what the hell are u talking about????????
umm, the only person in "Event Horizon" and "Jurassic Park" is Sam Neill, and he DOES have an accent, he always has an accent
FUCK event horizon!!!! why does everyone think its so cool???? its not that good, a lot of it is pretty cheesy. go see "Hellraiser" 1 & 2 if u like the freaky gore stuff.
"In the Mouth of Madness" is an awsome movie!!!! everyone should check that one out.
u guys need to check out some really wacked out shit like "Last House on the Left" and "I Spit On Your Grave", and of course, "Texas Chainsaw Massacre"
"Serpent and the Rainbow" is another must-see.. its about voodoo, that shit is scary cause its real!!

*shrugs*
I no expert on movies, but the same chick that plays Sam Neill's sidekick on Jurrassic Park also is part of the crew (one of the two that actually survive) of the rescue ship, no?
That's the only part of the movie that I thought was cheesy, that they actaully ended up in another movie together. The rest of it was pretty sweet. Like the airlock scene, where one of the dudes throws himself into the airlock and proceeds to open it without a suit on.
Oh well,
I loved it,

ummmmm..... his "sidekick"???
well, the chick in Jurassic Park is Laura Dern, who is NOWHERE to be seen in Event Horizon!!
the script is VERY cheesy at times, and there is a lot of dumb crap that ruins the creepy feel the movie could've had (in particular, the dumbass black dude and all the dumb shit he says) the concept it cool, the visuals are cool, the directing is so-so. before it was released they were calling it "Hellraiser meets The Shining in space". if the movie was a bit longer (it feels very rushed to me) and they focused more on the haunted derelict spaceship aspects of the story rather than Hellraiser gore and stupid fucking one liners, it couldve been seriously cool.
maybe my expectations were just too high when i first saw it.
another movie to add to the list
"Necronomicon" - I FINALLY got to see this movie the other night, pretty cool! some parts are kinda cheesy, but the first part is total H.P. Lovecraft.. Cthulu stuff rules.
