trying to do a party in a 2 week span of time has been crazy. Thank you for all your support...and the support that we hope to give the red cross. This is some good times to get some good reactions. The red cross plans on writing up this event as an event that happened to raise money for them. I hope to get the News paper to say something about all of us good hearted kids as well!

Since we have such a short time. Please spread the word by word of mouth. We haven't been able to flyer for this party very much cause this was an event that has been quickly planned but it will be good. Please join us to show the rest of the world that we care.

personally, i'm donating sound, time, and music not to show how 'patriotic' i am. especially when our administration is showing the reaction it is. i believe we should come together, for a relief effort, and to show we can focus on the positive, on light, in the face of all adversity.

if you want to be patriotic, wear the colors of the world, of mother earth, of all our brothers and sisters in humanity, and show everyone that as bad and evil that others can be, we can show infinite goodness and kindness in response. or we can BOMB THE MOTHERFUCKERS! but i don't think that will solve anything.

did i take that way out of context or what? sorry. i'm just puzzled and scared by alot of the uninformed reactions around me. a sikh (not of muslim faith, but of dark complexion) was murdered in our great free country the other day. a woman in chicago who was wearing a turban (because she had cancer and the chemo treatment made her hair fall out), was knocked to the ground yesterday by a 'patriotic american', and after he was told she wasn't arabic said, "Good thing."

i welcome the chance for us to gather together in unity, solidarity, love, support and kindness for our hurting brethren.

I'm glad to see others in the scene throwing parties like this :) Some friends of mine in Houston threw a party this weekend and were able to raise $1000 for Red Cross. I just got done doing a party named "Stand Tall" that raised $1500 for the 9-11 New York Firefighters Disaster Relief Fund. Not too bad for only four days promotion and 400 peeeps showin up!

Also, I'm going to show that these events cannot shake me from my way of life (Dance! Dance! Dance!). i do agree with caleb's sentiment about world patriotism, please be careful upon who you "bash" to gain that patriotism. i cannot speak all too freely about my own personal opinions about our nation's leadership (find me @ the party, you'll know why), however the acts of terrorism were nothing more than acts of battle within an ongoing war between interests.

but that's not the point - and it is much too - inviting for an argument? like caleb said, this party is to come together to pool our resources for those in need. but also, "trip" is right there is a need for patriotism, all the while knowing it's military implications. For instance, many of Solkan, Vex, and i's comrades of arms lost their lives in the building missing one side. Come out, support the scene, pool our energy for those who need it more than us, and please don't fuel any rivalries either domestically or internationally.

patriotism does not mean indiscriminate killing or provocation (by anyone) - but pride in oneself and who they associate with. so.......

please come to this party for your own reasons, but have fun for all the right reasons.

YAY! Well said. Sorry if my earlier post came off as too negative. I had just finished a heated debate on the issue so I was a bit touchy. I'm not going to go back and delete the post because I still believe in what I wrote; but know that I, for one, will be coming out solely for the reasons Lily mentioned above and will leave my politics at home. This event should be a positive experience for all and I'm really looking forward to it.

All things considered, we all deal with tragedy and the anger, saddness and confusion that come of it in different ways. Our way is the peaceful gathering in celebration of life and music and dance. Its what brought most of us here in the first place, and now we have a chance to do something productive with it. I hope to see our diversity and hope shine on this night.

Plus, I'm really looking forward to partying in a barn in Lebanon, seriously! And it looks like I'll be playing a morning set again - yay! I just got some beautiful new (and classic) progressive trance and breakbeats that will send you off with a smile :)

I feel that everyone involved is doing this for the same reason, at least I hope so and that reason is to help others in their time of need. B, I agree with your post. Who knows how far our 'service' will extend beyond this benefit rave. You never know, by the time this is all said and done, you, Vex and myself could be in a very, very different situation. Thank you B for understanding what I was saying...the only reason I wrote Red, White, and Blue pride was to emphasize on supporting our country...America. Not supporting violence or government. And the reason you should support America's colors is because America is the country that is going to be defending our freedom...which includes our freedom to put on raves, to spin records, to dance to whatever the hell kinda music we want to and to believe in whatever we want to. And the soldier's who will end up defending America will be fellow DJ's like B, DJ Solkan, and Vexie (JaDeDJunGlePuNk).

But...it doesn't matter! You can wear whatever you want...hell, I will be. I don't think I'll be wearing any patriotic colors to be exact...I guess it was just a good-hearted suggestion since this party will be supporting victims who were killed because of another country. my father has been working for FEMA since the attacks occurred. as teh head of Seattle Medic One, who happened to be in New York for a domestic terrorism conference, i can tell you as a person so personally affected by this tragedy, that it is of the utmost importance that we do all we can as a community to help out in this time of need--regardless of politics or beliefs.

my dad has been in the midst of that horrific scene since 9/11, and i doubt i'll see him until November.

think about that for bit. a true american hero right here in our back yard.

Solkan, b, and i are facing rough times right now being we are in the military and could be called up at any time.... i want this party to be for everyone what they want it to be..... for myself its to get together and help those in need, and to see all the people i care dearly about possibly one last time. (never know whats going to happen in these krazey times)
I want whatever anyone else goes to this party to mean something to them, whether it's helping people in need, to see friends that might not be here much longer, or to be patriotic, but i don't want people there that just want to bring other people down...... becuse (to a certain extent) that is what pulls them through what could possibly be a rough time right now.

This is event is about coming together with your circle of friends and our Northwest dance community, and using our unified strength to support those in need at a tragic time. Helping others is good karma, too. :)

Also, I know this is going to be a marthon weekend for a lot of you.. starting at the Stylus party in Eugene earlier Saturday evening... then dancing the night away in Lebanon, and then going to Portland's Pioneer Square at 1:00 pm Sunday. I invite you all to catch some sleep in Lebanon in your car or tent before you leave for the drive up to PDX or back home.

Also, don't forget the Stylus Grooves party in Eugene from 8 pm to 2 am on Saturday evening. Get your funk down to Eugene, then come funk some more in Lebanon for the benefit of the Red Cross. Then get some sleep in Lebanon, and later you can wake up and go funk your American pride out at Pioneer Square in Portland at 1:00 on Sunday afternoon.

Well...me and Solkan have a really kickin' set for all you guys. We'll be spinnin' from 2-4 in the barn so be sure to come check it out for atleast a little while...we got a little house, trance, and psytrance to accomodate most everyone!

This may be a late party, but its definitely for a good cause...since this weekend is so busy w/ parties, I suggest maybe only spending a few hours at each one...kinda like a "party mix"!
