The foam is non-toxic (which means you could eat it, but we don't suggest it) and it's dry. It doesn't stain or even stick to your clothes. ...I guess I didn't explain myself too good though. What I meant to convey was that you should replicate a party like the ones that take place on Ibiza...the little island off the coast of Spain.

I'm sure you may know some of the following artists, themes or acts, but why not incorporate them into your parties...instead of an American DJ who's played there once or twice. And don't get me wrong, I LOVE DJ Irene, but you've brought her to your last two parties, in addition to Mike Barrett (another AWESOME DJ!), Nick Twisted (we won't talk about his skills!), DJ XL (can't wait to hear her produced music!), and other locals I'm sure.

Anyways, my point is...DO SOMETHING NEW!!! Bring someone like Judje Jules, Mauro Picotto, Alex P., MJ Cole, Lisa Lashes, Ferry Corsten, Brandon Block, Vinylgroover, Santos, Andy Farley, Graham Gold, Little Louie Vega, Tiesto, CJ Bolland, Seb Fontaine, Agnelli & Nelson, Fergie, Todd Terry, Nick Sentience, Matt Darey, Anne Savage, Erick Morillo, and Mario Piu --- and have themes from clubs like Eden, Cafe Del Mar, Kanya, Coastline, Space, Pacha, Cafe Mambo, Ministry of Sound or even Charleyz Angelz at Summum with Lisa Pin-Up, Nancy Noise, Sophie Sugar and Miss Bisto with a "Lesbian Floor Show" provided by the Blue Rose girls!

And book other talented locals, too.

I would love to bring over huge DJs (we actually talked to Fergie for Dynamo3D but we could afford the 1st class plane ticket from England ($7000-$10000 just for the ticket)) but the "raver economy" wont support it.

Yes, I have taken a look at what I'm asking Dynamo to do...that is bring in some quality talent we have never seen or rarely get to see here in Seattle, in addition to other local talent. I didn't ask for them to bring in ALL of those DJs, but definitely ONE of them would be nice...especially to headline an IBIZA party. How would it be "wasting time," by bringing over one of the DJs I mentioned??? Granted, Dynamo is throwing this party at FX, and Irene alone will pack the place, however, I was questioning the name of the party vs. the theme and who was performing...that's all. I do agree with you, on the fact that Seattle will never have the atmosphere of the island of IBIZA. However, I think that if Dynamo is to name their party after that wonderful party island, that they have a theme or some resident DJs from there (some HAVE been to Seattle before!). Otherwise they should stick to naming their parties 1, 2, 3...next, unlimited, girls...or even Dynamo Irene...since the theme of this party appears to be named for her CD release...modeled from her set recently performed on IBIZA. I don't think you'd be fucking up a bad thing by bringing in NEW DJs, new lineups, do you really? You think Dynamo Entertainment can survive with virtually the same lineups at all their parties? I agree...you've brought some people in that have definitely pleased...especially Charlotte Birch (I hear she plans on coming back in January?)...I've been to every party you've thrown except Girls, and always enjoy myself.

However, my point was that you named your party IBIZA and yet nothing (except the foam and DJ Irenes new CD, that was modeled after a set she spun there) at this party even comes close to resembling a party on IBIZA. I was merely suggesting that you bring at least one resident DJ from the other side of the world for this one, if not have one of their themes, so that YOUR IBIZA would resemble a club night like the ones that take place in the REAL IBIZA. It's like this. Usually, we have a party and we try to pick a fat line-up around the party. This time, Irene had a CD coming out and she really wanted to come to Seattle for the CD release cause she has such a good time up here. So she asked us. So in this case we had the DJ, and we booked the party around her.

Besides, DJs aren't like bands, they don't play all their own shit. They play other peoples which means she could come up here every week and play differently each time. The only thing that would stay the same is her style, which is sick.

a friend and i had planned out a trip to london from the 14-30th of september.. we didnt end up going because the plane tickets were that much, but tickets were NOT that much at gatecrasher, the nights we were going to see tiesto, scott bond, and pvd (3 diff nights)

if i recall, they were around 15 pounds (maybe 20 at the most), thats like, 30 bucks. nowhere near 80. i have no idea where you pulled the $80 number from.

foam parties are parties that they bring in basically a machine that makes huge amounts of foam (a soap suds-like substance) that covers the dance floor. i have been to foam parties where the foam only comes to your knees and i have also been to them where it is deep enough to cover shorter people's heads (like 5-6 feet deep).

just to warn all of you, even dry foam is not totally dry, so expect to get a bit wet or damp at this party. i will be there. foam parties are nuts. hell, you want a good laugh, just come sober and stand near a wall and watch all the high as shit e-tards and fry babies go nuts playing in (and with) the foam.

1: Soap suddy foam. This is like dishwasher liquid. We wont be using this kind of foam.

2: Dry foam. its not slippery or suddy like the other foam. The chemicals in this stuff make it stick to each other, not to people or clothes. This is what we'll be using. much less messy.

Ok maybe I'm an idiot but What is the big problem with having parties at Naf and FX? I can't say I've been into the scene for a long time seing as how I only moved here a year and a half ago, but I've been to FX,& Naf. I don't see what is so bad about them. Sure they aren't beautiful but the vibe is always good and I've met some really great people at them. Isn't that what it's all about? So what if they aren't the cleanest places? Maybe I'm missing out on something but I really enjoy the shows they put on. But by all means if someone out there knows of some other places that are good to check out please let me know. We're always looking for new places to go to.:D

I totally agree with you on that I just have not been to enough places I guess. I do have fun when I go there though. And yes the ventalation does suck.
However I have a really good friend that is underage and she can't get into a lot of the places either so we have fun at Naf and FX. If she could get into them I'm sure we would be going to other places way more.

Anyways, the reason this party is at FX is:

I like FX. The guys that work there a dope and really easy to deal with. NAF is a little too big (hard to fill up). We wanted this to be a little more intimate and personal. Also, NAF is largly outdoors and it gets gross when it rains (Being in November this has a lot to do with it. We needed an indoor venue, especially with the foam and the beach stuff). FX is cool because it has a couple different (pretty large) rooms. Places like the Showbox only have one room. I like being able to walk around and here different shit.

like where? if you have another idea, i'd love to hear it. the problem is when you bring big cool djs, you need somewhere reasonably large and safe (permits, insurance, etc) to put them in.

my first 'rave' ever, these guys broke into this beat up wherehouse, had a couple djs, kegs, and printed there flyers at kinkos. that was before the police new what 'techno' music was. that was dope, but it just doesn't work anymore. honestly, what we have now is better, it more mainstream, but it gives us access to the best djs in the world.

FX has always been 18+.When it first opened we were really leanient and hardley checked them,then a 16 year old girl almost got killed running across Elliott Ave.that ruined it for everybody.
But as long as you show a valid ID that says your 18+and looks anything like you I bet they would let you in.They only question it if the ID says your 40 and you look 12.It's a rave wear a costume.Good luck!

Okay, I have been reading through the posts here, and I find sometihing sad, but slightly amusing. We have people bitching about how it's "only" DJ Irene, making it sound as though she has been at all of the raves for months. Albeit true that she has been here somewhat recently, so what? At the NAF party a week and a half ago, everyone was bitching about how Glaude and Flave wouldn't be there. Ummm....they've been at every rave for a hella long time. Yet people bitch when they aren't there. Irene comes a few times in the course of several months, and she is suddenly getting over played. When are you people going to make up your mind and just party. Screw the name. Screw the venue. Screw everything just so long as you have a good time. If you aren't having fun at any of the parties, maybe you've changed. Who the hell knows. Maybe they do all suck. All that I know is that this constantly ragging on the producers, places, and djs isn't going to help the scene at all. If you have any type of opposition to a party, screw it, don't go. Just be sure that you don't try and put a damper on what will probably be a hella tight show.

FYI, DJ Irene will be at Alderwood Mall Camelot Music (I'm pretty shure its camelot, its one of the music stores at least) on FRI from 6pm-7pm signing autographs and giving out CDs so if you want to go meet here, you should check it out. I think last time they had her playing records for a little bit too.

The flyer says we open at 8pm, but the club doesn't want to open until 9pm. So, come at like 8 or 8:30 and you should be fine. (we'll try to push them to open ASAP)

oh, and the club holds like 1200 people so its not that small.

Ahhhh, I just got back. This is about the sorest that I have been after a rave in a long time. The party was outstanding, more so than I expected. To those of you that missed it, I am sorry. This was probably one of the best raves that I have been to. The vibe was great, blah blah blah, I am tired.
