One question about the hotels: is there a possibility that we won't have to walk past the front desk to get to our room at either of those ones? Because I'm sure if ten to twenty little raver kiddies walk past the front desk together and all head into the same room, they might think somethings up. And I can't really call the hotels and say "Yeah, I was wondering if I have to walk past the front desk to get to my room?"

Nah the Motel 6, Sleep Inn, and Super 8 in Roseburg are built like a hotels with inside room doors. Pretty much all the ones down town are built like motels though. There's a Best Western, Howard Johnson, and then of course the local rent by the hours wich have outside doors to the rooms.

You can't judge every roseburg party by one not so good party you attended there. First of all Naha was supposed to be in Medford. Second, it is two totally different groups putting on these parties. Labyrinth will be a very good party and I really think you should check it out especially with your Naha experience.

MeltyMilton... not to worry. You have to understand that it seems there's a bit of a vendeta between the police there and Tek / Supreme. As I understand it, at a previous party someone was shot in the parking lot, and the victim's parents sued the police because they couldn't sue Supreme. I'd like Supreme to confirm this if possible? But I did hear this from a reputable source that is in-the-know.

Ok, so Labyrinth is going to be at a different venue, one that I've personally been to on at least 3 different occasions. Aypeks has always done great with their shows, and the police have only ever done a walk-through now and again... I wouldn't expect any problems.

i've always waited for the chance to say something about this.....

i've been in the scene for a number of years (since around '93, well '91 if you count the European club scene) and i've seen a number of bunk shows, promoters, crews, and electonic artists. no matter where you go (i've run with crews up and down the West Coast) there are gonna be "bad seeds". if you choose to punish a local scene, or a dj, by the crew that they represent, or the show or venue that they are participating in, you are selling yourself and the scene short. in fact, in a way, you are doing no more than stereotyping in the same way that those within positions of power do daily - to everyone. this process of othering breaks apart the scene that many of us are attempting to create - the music, the people, the culture (and yes even that damned P.L.U.R.R.). i'm sorry that many of us have bad experiences with parties, but that is the risk we take (come to the show and i'll tell you the story about how i spent the night in jail 'cause a promoter didn't pay his permit fees). but like any risk, there is a possibility of good or bad. i can't make anyone come any distance to this show, but i can say this - my name, and the name of my crew is on this party, and i will do nothing to soil either of those - so, take from that what you will. i hope to see many of you in the 'burg, i got one hell of a dark Dark DARK jungle set coming @ ya! -b-

Ok guys I know some of you are currently sketched out about Roseburg. I would like to assure you several things.

1) Aypeks has NOT had problems with their parties and the police.

2) We will be doing checks at the door.

3) Party is being run by Lily Productions and Aypeks. I hope that you will all come this will be at a different venue and run by a different group.

4) Security will be out and around parking areas. There will be no loitering allowed...less for the police to have issues with!

well, one thing you have to remember is that the roseburg scene isn't big to begin with, and in a lot of ways is in its adolescent stages. parties have been around for many years, but the backwoods of oregon - yes that includes most if not all of oregon - have not been exposed to the diversity of the music and the culture as a whole. so, you get bunk parties, persecution by political and law enforcement agencies, and "weak" turnouts for parties. but like anything it gets better. give it time, and give it energy. if you're loyal to the culture and the music, you can overlook some of the problems with a fledgling culture - and look towards the future, or even ways to help build the future. that's why i'm going. well, that, and the fact that some of those backwoods hillbillies definitely need a healthy dose of some dark, satanistic, unholy, despicable jungle and d n b! -b-

Werd 2 betty. I actually read to the end of that speech. I think there is one thing that all the tru partykids realize but some others may not, and that is in a small town like 'burg, with its relatively undeveloped party scene, the gatherings are smaller, the people at them know eachother, and generally you meet more people, and overall the vibe of a smaller party is just kickin. You MUST see past the number of heads bobbing around you and the size of the venue, those things aren't whats really important. EVERY party in roseburg has maybe appeared dissappointing at first, but I stuck it out and always came away happy, usually with some new friends or at least acquaintances.

Ok now I have read all these worries and now I have to reassure you all of a few things.............First, this will be the 5th party that Aypeks Productions has put on in Roseburg, and NOT ONE PARTY HAS BEEN SHUT DOWN. 2nd, Yes the cops will come as they always do since Carl lets them know he is having the party. They will do a walk through like always, stop on the way out and tell Carl and myself that we are doing a good job, keep it up and go about their merry way. 3rd....The Vibe is always good at these shows, we have not had any complaints.
There will be a licensed bonded security guard outside to ensure that nobody is dealing or using drugs or alcohol on the streets, and there will be security inside as well. Blatent drug use WILL NOT BE TOLERATED, you will be escorted out of the building as in the past(trust me I have escorted more than one person out of the building)........We want everyone to come and have a good time, enjoy the entire show and rebuild the faith for the Roseburg scene. We know we can't stop everything, but we won't tolerate people blatently using or dealing drugs.
With Aypeks and Lily teaming up for this show with the help of the superfriends, how could it possibly be anything but a fun night for all????

Go to the Lily Productions web site (http://www.lilyproductions.com) and at the bottom of the page is a link that shows you a list of the closest motels to the venue, including a map that shows where they're located. It looks to me like there's 3 of 'em between the freeway and the venue that you'll drive past on your way to the show.

Just remember to ask the front desk about being able to check out later than normal (like early afternoon sometime) since you'll be checking in at dawn! heh

I like the idea of the pre-party dinner! I wanna meet everyone. What time do you think we should meet, and where? Trippany and I will be coming together from Corvallis with all the gear... I was planning on showing up around 8pm at the venue. Should I try and make it a little earlier? I wanna meet everyone who can go, I think this is a great idea. Let's get some more input.

Yo, for everyone that can make it we will be meeting at Denny's in Roseburg between 7:30 and 8 that night. For all of you that don't know, Denny's is directly on the way to the party. Follow the directions to the venue, when you get off the freeway in roseburg (exit 124 I think but don't quote me) denny's will be on the left side of the road almost across the street from the gas station (76 or somethin). Ok Mark sorry I thought Carl had talked to the DJs that he had gotten. I have planned all along that all the DJ's are meeting before the party for a pizza dinner. Part of Lily Productions taking care of its crew. So in otherwords for all the DJs that are playing I have pizza, pop, chips etc planned for you. We can all get together, make sure things are set up and have fun!~Leanne

PS oh and Solkan? I think I told you this back when we first started planning...yeah I know that was like months ago...sorry...didn't think you would forget free food :)

Jack will be there at the venue to oversee the sound about 3. I am leaving with my van at 3 and I am not sure when Technolust is leaving...so yeah...someone will be there by the time you get there. :)

Blair DOES NOT want to go to this party. Why are you so intent on it happening? Gary and Aaron and one of their friends are coming with us, meaning: full car. Brian and Blair and Robby might drive down separately if they actually decide to go (which is a big maybe)
