you named a lot of good ones..

you didnt mention the alien series which i like a lot :)

i dont know if virus counts but it had cyborgs and i love cyborgs... so i liked it also.

event horizon was ok
cube was good, but not in space... sci fi in my opinion tho.
i know there are more but i cant think of any right now...

but on the sci fi topic, i really, REALLY like the sci fi channel. its pretty much the only one i watch, and is home to a lot of great shows/movies... namely FARSCAPE which is one of the best series ever. you should check it out, acid fire.. if you havent. its great.
i also like that they have lots of sci fi made movies, the upcoming "epoch" one on nov. 24th looks good. i like watching outer limits episodes... the new ones are great, tho so are the old ones. etc etc.

ill post more movies later when i remember

oh, as far as samples, i know front line assembly has used a lot from event horizon, mimic, hellraiser, robocop, etc etc.

Yah, Virus is very much Sci Fi. What isn't sci fi though is the lame slasher "Cherry Falls", which Sci Fi aired about 2 weeks ago. Bad bad movie. Bad.

event horizon was ok
cube was good, but not in space... sci fi in my opinion tho.

Are you insane? Have you been deprived of new Farscape too long? Event Horizon just okay? Cube good? Are you completely off your rocker?!?!?
Cube was one of the 5 worst movies I've ever seen, and Event Horizon rocked. Not since Hellraiser had I seen anything that freeky.

How about the various mini series that have been run? I'm sure they're great for samples. Ultraviolet, the remake of Dune (nowhere near as good as the original, but decent), that one filmed in England about the aliens from the parallel dimension with the bog glowing mountain blob things...Neverwhere (produced by the BBC - I don't think it's been aired in the US, but it's available from amazon.co.uk, and if it's anywhere as good as the book, it'll definitely be a kick ass sample-fest).

Trispectral - You show me a song that sampled the muppets, and I'll give your post some validity...

ya I forgot about virus and mimic 1-2 but I dont think I found any useful samples in either and event horizon is one of my favorites but it has been sampled to its death

star wars and trek are out- I try to stay with the less known- keeps you wondering where I got them
just havent got to the alien series yet
I start with the less known

oh and cube is good too, I used it on my first cd

i really didnt think cube was bad...

the ending did suck ass and i was disappointed, but in general i thought it was a REALLY interesting movie that made you think.

i watched it a few times and noticed lots of subtleties that i dont know if they were meant or not, but still made me think..

for example, when they all kinda meet up... the one guy (the pessimistic one) is saying his head hurts (from an injury or something). then the black guy comes in, with blood on his hands.

later in the movie of course, the black guy beats the shit out of the pessimistic one, after youve discovered how angry and assholish the guy really is... and bam. he has blood on his hands, and the pessimistic guy is slouched down, holding his head again. its those kinda things about that movie that made me think... looks to me like the directors tried to throw in little things like that that you realize afterwards. i dunno, i just really liked it... but HATED the ending.

event horizon, yea, it rocked. i just didnt like the ending and thought it had kind of a clone-like quality to aliens or other movies.

dood seriously... someone needs to sample virus. "YOU ARE VIRUS. YOU WILL BE ERASED" <shudders in happiness>.

(reminds the board that she wants to be a cyborg and is obsessed with them and anything biomechanical).. heh. i was so glued to my screen when i watched that. such beauty of machinery with flesh

robots!!!!

oh, and if you just want obscure shit... hehe. check out hell comes to frogtown. its terribly bad with bad acting and silly frog-like people... but has such funny weird lines in it. not sci-fi sounding prolly but still damn hilarious. has roddy piper in it, a post apocalyptic world where frogs have mutated into frog people and all sorts of stuff... heh.
