Hey everyone,
i used to be quite the heavy e user about a year ago, and now though i have been sober of all drugs now for just over 5 months, I think the e is still haunting me. see, i never ever used to get upset or depressed really, but after i quit the e, for 2 solid months i was angry, upset, depressed and pushed all my friends away, it wore off, and i got happy agen or so i thot. duz anyone else feel as though e has ruined their happy thots? i am still mostly happy, but too often i hide my depression and pretend to be happy, but wen i am alone, i get way under the weather! i dont know if it is from e, but i just want to know if anyone else feels this from time to time, or if it is just hormones or wat, i am 19 so my hormones are not on over drive any more ;) but ya.........any advice or help on why i am more depressed more then usual, i wood gladly accept to read it!!!!

much luv to all u party kids, sober and not,

SoberKyle

Oh kyle....EVERYBODY knows that E is good for you and makes you smarter, that's why you should eat as much of is as you can. Your brain's probably mad at you for depriving it of it's nutrients.

You probably have a seratonin-depletion issue.

Sucks to be you.

or maybe it's the time of year when everybody gets a little down, and it is normal. if you think you may have a real problem go to a doctor.

What do you do for everyday normal life? There can be many things as well as the withdrawal of e that can cause this depression or anti-social behavior. Having financial problems? Take a look at everything that you are doing. Is there anything that you used to do and enjoy before you did drugs, but not recently?

post-e-depression is common and frequent use will cause it. whether it is permanent, long-term or just temporary isn't known.

for more information about it see

Werd. Paxil is the devil's creation. I stopped taking it because of all the negative shit it caused.

Get some exercise. Natural endorphins can help improve your mood. Plus your body will feel and look better which will help you feel better about yourself and the world around you. Best of luck.

Peace.

Whoa, I used to do E, and now I'm depressed, it must have been the E!!!!!!!!!

Believe it or not, depression is a natural phenomen and can happen to anyone regardless of their drug use. You have to do a LOT of E for it make a significant long-term impact on your brain- and by a lot, I mean overdosing yourself weekly.

I just watched a slide show on dancesafe.org that shows step by step what E does to your brain and why you become depressed from E.....some damage does occur with every pill you take. To see it, go to http://www.dancesafe.org/slideshow .

I find that I myself tend to get down this time of year, as do many people .....what helps a great deal with your seratonin levels, is 5-htp...you can get it at any drug store where they sell the vitamins, give it a try...

She swallowed the spider to catch the fly. I don't know why she swallowed the fly.

I know an old lady who swallowed a bird. How absurd to swallow a bird.
She swallowed the bird to catch the spider that wiggled and jiggled and tickled inside her.

I know an old lady who swallowed a cat. Think of that to swallow a cat!
She swallowed the cat to catch the bird, she swallowed the bird to catch the spider
that wiggled and jiggled and tickled inside her.

Perhaps she'll die.

I know an old lady who swallowed a dog. Oh what a hog, to swallow a dog!

No, my friend's dad is a doctor so he was able to get them without persciption, I don't think it's very hard though. You can just explain to your doctor that you're having anxiety and they'll pump you full of drugs. He said that it really helped him, but if he pokes the smot with it, he has some problems. I told him that's what you get for mixing up drug cocktails.

i'll second two recommendations...
first of all...GET REGULAR EXCERCISE! run (my favorite), walk, skateboard, ski, hike, have sex (another favorite), do martial arts, do soemthing to get you active and your heart rate up...excercise counters depression very very well...
and try 5-htp...it helps regulate your sleep patterns...and seems to work pretty damn well at stablizing your serotonin...
also, if you are seriously depressed, seek counseling...there is NOTHING wrong with seeing a counselor...you maybe abot address issues you have not touched upon by having a unbiased third party listen to you....
best of luck! and get your ass out and sweat a little...

btw, and have sex with someone ya care about a lot...its good for ya :D

Werd to what Forrest said.....also, combining 5-htp with one of the B vitamins (I forget if it's b-12 or b-6) makes it work better....also, don't rule out pills from your doctor. I've discovered that depression is something that has so many different avenues of therapeutic solutions that you really can't rule any of them out until you have tried them.

Since we are technically out of a drought now, the lack of sunlight may also play a role in depression. This means that your vitamin D intake isn't all that hot. Quite possibly you can fix this with vitamin supplements.

How old are you? If you are under 21, you must remember that your natural hormones play mind games with you. Being depressed from time to time, even if it seems like it's lasting forever, is quite natural. However, if the depression persists, you may want to consider seeing a doctor.

Different things work differently for different people. Don't listen to board kids, go to the doctor. I wouldn't trust what i read on this board to save my life.

Take this comment with a grain of salt. Remember that doctors are tied in with the AMA, and they're just waiting to prescribe little boys and girls with anti-depressants. Of my (4) closest friends, (3) of them were prescribed anti-depressants well before the age of 18. You see, what we all call "the effects of puberty", doctors tend to call depression. Since them, all three have quit the anti-depressants in an attempt to live the normal life that anti-depressants took from them. There are natural ways to cure depression, son. You may want to take some of what the board kids say into consideration. They have found tried and true methods of combating the effects of E. How many of your doctors have first hand experience like that?

Exercixe, 5-htp, and regular vitamins will make a world of difference. I suggest that before anti-depressants.

Good luck, and I hope you get to feeling better!

I think that your body is missing the drugs. I know this guy who said E was his anit depressent. He is really erratic and rude when he isnt rolling. Maybe you miss the fact that you were always in another state of mind. Maybe you should take a break from going to parties where E is around, and get your head together. Excersize, take lots of vitamins and do things that make you happy. Eventually, you will thank your self for quitting....
Peace

Peace.

Coming from a person who has battled depression, I can tell you that this is REALLY GOOD advice.

I know it sounds all cheezball and almost propagandaish (like something a DARE officer would say, "Get excercise....DON'T do drugs!") BUT it is soooooo right on!!!

Exercise enough (20-30 min) that you elevate your heatrate and tire yourself out. Then, after you stop exercizing and go back to your resting heartrate and stop sweating you will feel very good!!! The endorphins released from exercise elevate one's mood and energy. If you do this 3 times a week over time you will notice major changes in the way you feel.

TRUST ME!!! I tried taking Paxil for a month, doing accupuncture, smoking weed, etc. to try to combat depression and found that although those things can help some. Exercise has been the best......I think it also might help your body process any leftover toxins/metabolites stored in your body from your days of drug use. Exercise is also thought to boost repairing mechanisms in the body, so it may start "repairing" your brain from mdma-related brain changes

BEST OF LUCK TO YOU!!!!!!!

-Madmax

BTW....This also sounds stupid, but positive thoughts are VERY important. There have been a lot of connections made between health/wellbeing and positive thinking. The brain is MORE powerful than you or I will ever know ;)

you could try eating better too. instead of gobbling down vitamins, you could actually eat more vegtables and good food :-)

it's really annoying when someone asks a really sincere question that's really kinda personal and people are so jerky in their responses. seriously what fucking good is that to even respond.

hey keila, i kinda agree with what you said. I think a lot of people get sorta addicted to E. my friend who rolled like every weekend or so felt off when he wouldn't do it. sorta like anti depressants.

i think e really feels wonderful but i truly believe it has major long and short term effects. sucks. check out bluelight.nu and you can read tons of stories of people who feel like e permanently hurt them emotionally.

i ultimately think everyone is ok in moderation. but moderation with e i think is maybe 4x a year. doing it with any regularity wrecks havoc with your brain.

good luck. hang in there.

Dood...
5-htp gives me the shits...it's a bean extract or something...that's all I got to say about that.

GNC has better stuff than Freddy's, tho...

And yeah...get some exercise. If you start looking like you can kick some ass, then you won't feel so down on yourself. Then you start looking tight, and pick up lots of girls (or bois, whatever your prefrence) and it's a upward spiral from there.

And smile alot...because smiling releases endorphins, and endorphins ease pain. -Qwikee

And find a kewl hobby...mine is playing Dave Mirra 2 on PSX2 until my fingers bleed :D

really excellent point Godlike. we've become kind of artificial people these days, what with all of our anti-depressants, and vitamins, and medications, and medications to counteract the negative consequences of medications. there's got to be a point where you put your foot down.
here is some philosophy for you: imagine your body as it's own (for the most part) self-contained and self-providing machine. your body will know what you need, and when you need it, providing you've given it the nutirients it needs to do so. if you weren't born with any genetic defects that required a medication from an early age, then i would wager that it isn't necessary to start on any. just feed yourself healthy food, and stay in shape. also something that helps me is hanging out with people who you don't feel the least bit self conscious around.
i realize the converse to this argument is that now that you have affected your brain with artificial chemicals, the damage could be irrepairable, and it could be necessary for you to take some sort of med., similar to a child born without hte ability to repair/compliment their disabilities, but i'm trying to be optimistic here.

also, thanks for standing up for this guy Ben! j00 r0x0r

Yeah, until you fray your seretonin receptors with a bunch of damaging ecstasy.

Don't get me wrong, I like e sometimes too, but if you're going to take a drug, know what it's doing to your brain and then you will know why certain physical consequences happen.

I am also not saying anti-depressants are the solution....but if your brain is damaged beyond repair, you might need them simply because your brain doesn't have the capacity to have proper seratonin function.

Also.... anti-depressants and alcohol...

DO NOT MIX AT ANY LEVEL AT ANY TIME!!!!

My roomie takes the mild anti-depressant medication Welbutrin (sp).
She decided to drink last nite. I had to hold her down for two hours, and finally have her taken away in cuffs after she trashed my house.
