I was thinking he might die soon a few months ago.....It's sad to me even though he was not my favorite Beatle.....Somehow I liked him better than I liked McCartney though....At least he died peacefully and gradually instead of being blown off the face of the earth like Lennon's death, which I'm sure I could not have handled had I been as old and aware as I am now.....Lennon was a truly enlightened being, part of the Beatles, who were themselves a group of very aware human beings.....RIP George Harrison. :(
I hate when cool people die.... :(

ouch!
my parents were really big on the Beatles (who's parents weren't!), and it definitely trickled down to me...

i always thought "while my guitar gently weeps" was one of the most beautiful peices of music out there ~ & who doesnt like 'here comes the sun'? ... he really was a pioneer of new music producing & was dabbling w/ goa, long before it was goa..............a legend that will be forever missed.

Damn, that really sucks.
I liked george alot. Truly a pioneer along with the rest of the beatles. I was a fan of his. I dont know any of the details, when did he die? I am glad to hear it was peaceful. I guess he and john will finally be making the good music in the heavens.
Peace-

I've been expecting this day to come ever since he got stabbed last year, he didn't look good in alot of the pics he was in, so I knew he might be in frail health. The more doctor visits he had, the more I was sorta expecting this day. I wasn't too suprised to read of his passing away.
When we think of the Fab 4, we think of 4 lads who had a whole nation screaming, but I think in the end, they had the whole nation smiling. No, not because the Beatles used drugs and sometimes even encouraged their fans to, but the Beatles were the ones that said "YOU CAN make a difference, YOU CAN make peace on Earth, YOU CAN do anything you want.....". We believed in them, but more importantly, they believed in us......
I can remember the day John Lennon was shot. I must have been..about 7. I saw all these cop cars, people outside holding flowers, singing, crying, and I just could not understand why John needed to be killed. His death makes no sense to this day. But as for George, all I can say is, I think he's ready to enter his next chapter. 186/k said it for me, He's been into Goa since before Goa. Goerge was the one who got introduced to the sitar, and more importantly, Ravi Shankar. Without that introduction, you would never had "Norweigein wood" , some of his input on Revolver, or "Within You, Without You". Goerge when he had the time during his busy touring/recording schedule, would actually find out where Ravi was, and take Sitar lessons, so he could open his mind up to new ideas for music. Think about that. Do you know any dj's out there that would do this sorta thing?
As we watched the Beatles drift apart, we saw George here and there, my dad had alot of his records. There's one called "Wonderwall". One one side of the wall, there's just a man, in a plain coat and hat standing. On the other side of the wall, is a garden with half naked or naked indian women swimming or bathing. There's another one where you see a sort of class picture. Yet, some of the people in the photo have buhdist/hindu symbols on their t-shirts, and the whole class photo resembles a lotus. Really cool ideas that nobody has repeated. They had deeper meanings I'm sure, but they're still cool.
I didn't mind some of his stuff in the 80's, but he grew more and more quiet. I'm glad he agreed to do the 30th annual Beatles anthology with Paul and Ringo, because without his input, we wouldn't know alot of details. I'm glad George made it long enough to tell that tale, and even record the last 2 Beatles songs(I'll even forgive him for his disliking of John's 3rd track, which if all Beatles don't agree on a track, they don't record it), and I hope he had the energy to record any of his last material with his son, but I sorta doubt it. He wasn't in the studio that long unfortunately.....
George, whatever you were looking for in spirituality, I hope you find. You inspired alot of people to open up to new ideas, pathologies, and religions, cultures, and you recorded alot of damn fine songs yourself. Goodbye......

so would you say soho plagiarized the smiths?
would you say vanilla ice plagiaized david bowie or queen?
just because someone thought that a gutair rift sounded good and used a similar chord progression would't be called plagiarizm to me...
i wasn't able to find any legal action taken against soho or vanilla ice, vanilla ice didn't even give bother to add credit for either song on his albums...
maybe someone just saw a way to get a few bucks...
