If ya'all want a pre-met, a pdx kid should arrange it since Seattle kids don't really know the area (for the most part).
Actually, we went to this cute little coffee shop called Coffee Time the last time we were there.
You guys should meet there! images/smilies/smile.gif They have heaters outside to keep you warm!

I'm not sure what you meant Jannah, but please do not bring alcohol to Heaven and Earth.
Our parties are alcohol free, for various legal reasons.

Legal huh? How legal is bringing ecstacy into a venue? Just wondering.
Well for your information I wasn't planning on bringing alcohol to the party. I usually meet with all of my buddies before a party, drink then go inside. I've never brought alcohol to any parties...I don't see how you could. (Imagine some lil blonde chic carring a half rack to the gates of Naf and seeing the cops reaction)
The rule of the rave:
WE CAN ONLY KILL OUR BRAIN CELLS CHILDREN,
NOT OUR LIVERS.
And when I said that I was bringing alcohol I meant bring it to Portland...Not the party.

Look, I'm not going to argue about it with you. I'm glad you're not bringing it, and I was just letting you know, so if you had been bringing it, you wouldn't have to go leave it in your car or something.
And actually, we have had people try bring in a half rack. We are not NAF, and some people try to take advantage of that.
PS: alcohol kills brain cells too.

LOL@Hank
Okay, okay, okay.
Didn't mean to come off like a bitch to you Peter, but I know that alcohol is not allowed at parties.
I've known this for the 4 years that I've been going to parties. I wasn't comparing you to Naf I was just giving you a funny visual to think about...I found it ammusing anyways.
Btw-Ecstacy is far worse for your brain than alcohol will ever be.
And Jess, w3rd girl, we will kick it like bas ass bitches, that's 4 sure. I do remember you now...But I remembered you when Hank reminded me that you were the one that was sitting next to him at DV8.
Dumb drunkards???
True, I live my life in a bottle and I guess that makes me a horrible person. I think I'll go cry now.

Didn't mean to come off like a bitch to you Peter, but I know that alcohol is not allowed at parties.
I'm glad you understand this, but there are lots of people that don't. I think we've actually found alcohol at every party we've done so far, despite the fact that we often put "no alcohol" on the fliers, and it's well known in our circle that it isn't allowed.
That is why I informed you.
And as for the alcohol v ecstasy...
Show me even one reference to this, and I'll believe it. In fact, show me one actual unbiased research study dealing with damage to human brains from ecstasy, and I'll give in :-)

This was taken out of the article written by USA Today about Ecstacy.
Scientists have studied images of the brain before and after Ecstasy. Stalcup describes the differences as ''graphic and gruesome.'Ecstasy kills off part of the nerve in the brain that releases serotonin, the chemical that controls sleep, sexual function, memory, appetite and mood, says Wilkie Wilson, a neuropharmacologist at Duke University who co-wrote Buzzed, a guide to abused drugs.
A study by Johns Hopkins University researcher George Ricaurte in Baltimore compared the brain scans of 14 Ecstasy users to non-users' scans and found nerve damage that persists for at least seven years. Teens have more serotonin-producers than they need, Wilson says, but some of those nerves are lost with aging. ''Ecstasy users probably don't realize this, but they are aging themselves prematurely,'' he says. ''I expect them to have clinical depression and sleep disorders down the road. It impairs learning, which is a particularly bad thing for teenagers.''
And these facts you can find at http://www.nida.nih.gov/Infofax/ecstasy.html
Psychological difficulties, including confusion, depression, sleep problems, drug craving, severe anxiety, and paranoia - during and sometimes weeks after taking MDMA (even psychotic episodes have been reported).
Recent research findings also link MDMA use to long-term damage to those parts of the brain critical to thought and memory. It is thought that the drug causes damage to the neurons that use the chemical serotonin to communicate with other neurons. In monkeys, exposure to MDMA for 4 days caused brain damage that was evident 6 to 7 years later. This study provides further evidence that people who take MDMA may be risking permanent brain damage.
Also, there is evidence that people who develop a rash that looks like acne after using MDMA may be risking severe side effects, including liver damage, if they continue to use the drug.
MDA, the parent drug of MDMA, is an amphetamine-like drug that has also been abused and is similar in chemical structure to MDMA. Research shows that MDA destroys serotonin-producing neurons in the brain, which play a direct role in regulating aggression, mood, sexual activity, sleep, and sensitivity to pain. It is probably this action on the serotonin system that gives MDA its purported properties of height-ened sexual experience, tranquillity, and conviviality.
Good Enough?

i would be more than happy to help rip those references to shreds..... after several years' worth of experience in research science i've had to deal with lots of articles along these lines, and it just gets easier and easier to point out the flaws in design and logic that cloud these 'studies'.

The article your citing is one that I've already read, and has been torn apart countless times. I won't even go into the topic of USAToday's ridiculous journalistic ethics (let's just say they're loyal to their monetary contributors) but beside that, the article was clearly written with a strong anti-MDMA stance.
Psychological difficulties, including confusion, depression, sleep problems, drug craving, severe anxiety, and paranoia - during and sometimes weeks after taking MDMA (even psychotic episodes have been reported).
Who reported these psychotic episodes? I'm in the "scene" that they're talking about, yet I've never heard of people having psychotic episodes as a result of E.
And I hardly think that confusion, depression, sleep problems, or anxiety are proof of brain damage. But you can assume what you want.
"It has the 'love-drug, hug-drug' label to it," Kelly says. "Kids and their parents don't realize it has long-term implications. It is a killer, category one, dangerous drug. "
Wrong. There has never been one death from Ecstasy use alone. It's always another factor involved, such as dehydration, or mixing several drugs, both of which are deadly with or without MDMA. But hey, misinformation is easy when you don't tell the whole truth...
When some California teens coming from a rave died after driving over a cliff, public pressure built to crack down, she says. "Since then, law enforcement has been going, 'Oh, my God.' The raves are everywhere now, and we're starting to see accidents and overdoses and kids dying from dehydration," she says. "Local police and the public are just waking up to it."
Here, they've linked two unrelated subjects (ecstasy, and people driving off a cliff) simply because the people who died were ravers, and everyone knows ravers use ecstasy, right? So now readers have it in their head that these kids' deaths and ecstasy are related.
I also really like all the "expert opinions" they quote here...A drug treatment phsyician (of course he's anti-drug- you don't work drug rehab because you think they're a good idea)...a US Customs Commissioner (it's his job to arrest people who try to bring ecstasy and other contraband into the US)...a state prosecutor (duh)...the fucking director of NIDA... hell, the only guy that really has qualifications here is the researcher, and his studies weren't even controlled!
What is needed is some controlled laboratory studies, like the ones done with LSD (which is still illegal, even though it's neither physically or mentally addictive) or, for that matter, most other illegal drugs.
Right now, all the research out there is either studies of uncontrolled use (which means they're essentially invalid as scientific or statistical data) or tests on animals (which may be corrolary in some cases, but the dosages are concentrated far above those of normal human usage).
So show me some actual research, not this "common knowledge" reporting technique, corrolary research, or useless unverifiable data.

You can't say that ecstacy does nothing bad to you though...You can tear there articles to sheds and then eat them for all I care...BUT these articles were written by people who had to go to school for years and have a degree in this feild, so it's much easier for me to believe then people that are just trying to defend a drug because they like to do it. I know that alcohol is horrible for you to, but I guess my confusion is that why it's SO WRONG to drink...But ecstacy is alright. If you're not violent when drinking, are more social and have a good time, then what's the problem. I don't have problems with people doing ecstacy, I even do it once in a while...But I think that it's VERY IMPORTANT that you take it in moderation. You should let your body heal and recoup before doing it again. That's just my opinion though.
Your all Beautiful,
Jannah

I was thinking about how people start a thread with one thing in mind and it always ends up being about something else.
I ask who's going to Portland, ya'all get into some big heated debate over drugs & alcohol.
Both are bad for you.
They choose not to let people in with alcohol.
*shrug*
I'm afraid of people who are drunk usually. lol. I like etards better- they curl up and leave you alone and play with fuzzy things. Drunk people fall all over the dance floor (at least in my experienc with drunk people at parties).
My problem with statistics done for drugs vs. alcohol is that I get pissed off when I read them. Alcohol is legal yet more people die from drunk driving than people who die from driving stoned. And it's usually not only the people who had been legally drinking, but the other (sober) people who were in the other car.
so bah.
*another shrug*
Hope to see some of you on Saturday, drunk, sober or whatever :Þ
