well, I left at 2:30 (needed to come home and have sleep to do the easter thing with my daughter in the am), but I was having a great time while I was there. lets see, I got to meet all sorts of new board ppl. HI tinkerbell, Candypiolet, Sothis, lady legs, pheonixhalos (err, something like that) reptar, lordwoon, auggie, glowie, misha, torben, err...umm....gosh....i know there was more images/smilies/frown.gif

and of course, you usual folks i see all the time...*hugs* im not EVEN about to list all of you.

Yeah, anyways, I thought the space was decorated very nice. I really liked the sunshine in the stairway and the streamer curly q's from the ceiling *grin* im not a big HHC fan, i like darker, scarier harrrrder hardcore personally...but, it was fun. i wasn't too much into dancing, more just running around socializing, but the trance was what would usually get me movin for a few minutes. and i haven't been "stickered" like that in a while...i came home with 4 stuck on me...thats a lot for me! *grin* i always lose them or never get any to begin with. i got a few star stamps on my back *lol* and somehow had one smeared all over my neck when i got home...you guys outta look for stamp ink with more staying power.

you know what i love about TOS parties? You don't even have to throw a "board" or "list" party because usually most the people you would wanna meet travel to come to them!

Wow kids... i must say you guys threw one hell uv a party!!! as a big HHC fan, i loved earth.... but as one who appriciates good trance, i loved heaven too!!!! all around it was kikazz!!!

It was so great to see all of you again... you could TOTALLY tell that you all put a great deal of time and effort into this party! once again, i must update my *Greatest Party Ever* list.... this one now resides at the top!

a good party overall IMHO. the atmosphere and vibe were excellent, probably due solely to the fact that it was at the temple. the art and decorations were a real nice touch. the music was ok, im not a big fan of hhc, dave's set kicked ass(the little of it i caught due to the crowded conditions upstairs) which brings me to my one complaint, which is the amount of people. i dont think the temple is a good place to be packed w/ people. it might be a good idea to make it a smaller vibey party with the dj downstairs and a chillroom upstairs. btw it was great to talk to those washingtonians like itza, deena, dave and sin.

Hey Kiddiez,

First off, I wanted to send a HuGe ThAnKs to everyone that helped make Heaven & Earth such a wonderful success. Thanks so much to everyone at the Temple of Sound, all the DJ's that came to fill both Heaven and Earth with groovin sounds, everyone that helped with equipment and setup, and most of all, everyone that came to show their support. It just shows what is posible when we all join together.

In my personal biased opinion *grins*, the party went rather smoothly with only a couple short problems with the sound system. The space was filled just about right with it only being crowded at times around the stairway with people talking there. I know there were people that were upset when the doors were closed but it did help ensure that the temple was not over packed making the party uncomfortable. I felt that everyone was being extremely friendly and the overall party had a wonderful vibe. The music was amazing and it was refreshing to hear happykore in the PDX scene as featured at an actual party. It brought a smile to my face just seeing all the people bouncing to the HHC! =0) A special thanks to DJ ClimaXXX (Nik), Little Terror (Matt), and Mischief (Grady), for making a personal dream of mine come true!

I do have to say that this was an amazing party.. I had a great time.. For my first party at TOS is was great.. and I will be coming back.. I donno, I like HHC, but there was too much of it for me. I would've liked some more hard house or something of a slightly different tempo. It's also way too hot upstairs, so I never stayed up there for very long.

Dave did play a great set. I was mesmerized. But since I'm sure he's got all the props he needs, let me just say that Joee spun a set that left no doubt where trance got its name. I want to see this boy playing out more! It was the third time I've seen him, but that's just not enough.

I spent most of the night upstairs, dancing oblivious to the heat. At times I was so drenched in sweat that I had to go hang out the window beyond Jasmine's room and just let the cool wind strip away the steam. Everyone was soooooooooo amazingly nice. Definately one of the best partys I've been to in a loooong time. For me it was mostly cause of the Happyhardcore. Nik, Grady, Matt, you all were amazing. And thanks to Bunne for putting tha whole thing together in the ferst place. The energy was amazing there. I've never been around such an incredible group of kids.

attending this party was a last minute decision on my part, and I am glad that I made the right decision. This party was definitley a great experience.

We left Seattle around like 4 and got to tertyl's place around 7 or 8 or so..headed out and about, then got back to the party. I ran into lotsa people I didnt expect to, and that was awesome.

The music..ah, the music. It was my heaven. Trance, Goa Trance, Happy Hardcore, and house. My favorites. I was in sheer ecstasy..not to mention ON it as well.

I was really impressed with the Temple of Sound, and wish we had parties like that up here. Damn, Seattle just is lacking so much. Oh well. If I was going to be partying a lot anymore, i would be going down to portland more often. But I dont know how much Ill be seen.

I had a wonderful time....
That was my first encounter with Portland kids (outside of Seattle) and let me tell you...I was impressed. Everyone wuz nice, respectful and smiled a lot...Not that it I don't see that in Seattle but it seemed so much more evident in Portland...Maybe it was the event I went to...None the less it was a great experience.
I had a great time dancing to some bumpin trance and was relieved that they didn't play HHC in both rooms. (sorry)
OooOoh yeah, I loved the wood floors upstairs too because it was GREAT for sliding around in your sox!
I think that one of my favorite moments that night was when me, my best friend Danielle and Lee (truckstop) was sitting on one of the couches with a blanket observing people, laughing, listening, talking, and enjoying eachother's company...It was soOOo comfortable that we got stuck there for at least an hour and a half...But we didn't mind...(Lee, I love you, ya damn Scorpio!!)
So in conclussion, I had a dope time and will be comin back to Portland to party again in the future.

I had so much fun at TOS. And it waz sooooooo nice to finally meet pdx people!! It waz my first Portland party ever - Yay!! Of course the drive down waz long and then not really sleeping then driving back at 2:30pm on Sunday waz long too.

Luckily I had the great companionship if friendz in my car: Dave - SkyCriesX, Dina - TheLadyLegs, and Kim - Sothis =). Dina - I have yer shoez in my trunk!!! It waz probably a lil bit of shock for SkyCriesX to be away from hiz computer for so long which iz why he waz asking about computerz - hahahaha!!!

i found quite the opposite to be true..

i felt there was hardly any respect/etiquette at all with most the people there. i was ran into (hard) *3 times* from the bathroom door downstairs to the garage. 3 TIMES! by people shoving by or something. not ONE of them turned around to see if i was ok, say sorry, etc, the normal poilte things you do at parties if you accidentally hit someone. i walked by a guy by the bathroom, who was facing the other way, and he accidentally elbowed me in my side... that shit hurt. i turned around to say 'its ok' or something to him, but he didnt even give a fuck! he was still talking to his friends, didnt even turn around to see what he hit or if that person was ok!

that all happened in like 30 seconds... getting from the bathroom to the garage.

also at the beginning of the night, a lot of the times i tried to be social to people, they would loook at me like 'um... why are you talking to me again?' and kind of look off and ignore me! it really made me mad!

lucy-furr was telling me that wasnt the typical temple crowd, so i guess i wont pass judgement on portland too harshly... but that was my first pdx party and iwas really disappointed with that aspect.

it got better when i rolled cause i just hung out with the e-tards. and they were all nice of course.

but i did also meet lots of nice people. all the board people were extremely nice, especially squeak and lucy-furr for helping me be comfy when i wanted to sleep...
except for one board person who pulled the same shit as above... basically ignoring me. bah to that.

and i met some random people who were nice.

dont get me wrong, im really not trying to bash the party...
i loved the decorations and the free fruit and water, etc. it was a really good party, and im glad i went..

i just had to post above on the niceness/respectful factor, cause i didnt get much of it except from the nice board people and a few other random folks images/smilies/smile.gif

Uhm, yeah. Honestly I dont think I have had that much fun at a party since... well 2 1/2 years of partying. I was having such a good time rolling didnt even sound that appealing. The people and general vibe "rolled" me all night long. Hehe and it was clean for a rave. In the car on the ride home I found all my trash in my pockets, because I couldnt find a trash can and I was refusing to throw it on the ground.

Oh one big complaint though. Seriously folks, dont play that much wonderful music all night long... I was having to much fun dancing to socialize much/at all. I would have loved to meet all you board kids. But noooo some wicked HHC Djs wouldnt let me stop dancing. And when I ran upstairs to try and get away.. Well lets just say DAMN trance. I'm so angry. n'stuff

It took a while for me to recover from all that i put into the event, but after reading all this i'd say it was more than worth it.
Thank you to everyone who made music, danced, helped set up or clean up, to all who participated in anyway, thank you. The vibe comes from you first!
As far as teh trash thing goes.. we had several trash cans, but they all ended up in one area of the Temple. That is something I will try and be mroe aware of in the future.
As for the overcrowding..I thought that it was crowded and was going to ask the door ppl to stop letting ppl in, but then walking around revealed that ppl just chose to gather in clumps. some places there was lots of room, others there wasn't. go figure. I am very sorry about the heat upstairs. We were supposed to have the ac fixed and then there was some issue with the realtor and the wrong sized filters at the last minute. So sorry!
sothis: it was nice to meet you and watch you dance! I am sorry that you didn't have a completely positive experience. But i must amend that by saying that that was *not* the usual temple family. There was a good core of our friends and family, but there were many ppl from eugene and seattle, as well as from portland that I have never seen at the Temple before. I hope that you will come down again..

If there is any other feedback as far as improvements we could make do not hesitate to speak up!

That was my first encounter with Portland kids (outside of Seattle) and let me tell you...I was impressed.

To Phoenix and the rest of the tos crew. As far as helpful improvements for the djs. PLEASE figure out how to make the upstairs room accessible to all djs. I was unable to play with the needles bouncing off the records every couple of measures (woodfloors usually require some kind of suspension), I also really needed a cross fader. I tried to find some pillows, but couldn't get that far with the headphones on. My apologies to all who had to endure my set, I did my best. Other than that H&E rocked, definitly my most enjoyable experience at the temple.

I just thought it was quite entertaining that there were people doing so, seeing as House has a big residency already in Portland, while HHC is a newcomer bigtime. *Massive respect for all the house DJs* I like house just as much as the next guy. My second record ever was Moby's 'Go'.
And, I'm less of a newbie than you think, trust me. While this was my first rave, I've been quite inderectly involved with ravers and raving for years.

however there was one thing that cought my eye and kinda upset me.
not to be mean to anyone person and not to take away any spot light but there were A LOT of ppl that helped make this event what it was.

I've been waiting and waiting, but no one has given any mention to Kris and Alex yet! Upstairs, at 10. They do Live PA. Anyone remember? The crowd was small, but loved it, as far as I could gather. It was their first party, and damn they worked so hard on that set.... I was so proud... spent the nite reminissing about the first time Kris ever tried to play. ^.^ They were the best there, you know. I am bias, of course, cause Kris let me get all cracked out and crash on his bed (along with like 800 other people). Oh well, just wondering if anyone else liked what they heard from the Live PA boyz.

I was there! I saw them play...but I'd seen them rehearsing before, so I already knew they kicked ass. I gotta give them mad props for writing all of that music in ONE WEEK! That's right. For those of you who arrived at the party early enough to see them open it, they did everything you heard the week beforehand. They came together to plug a hole in the lineup that ended up not needing plugged after all.

Kris and I have combined our gear at the temple to form a little studio of our own. Hopefully we'll have a set ready to go by July. That's the goal, anyway. If anyone happens to be at the temple when we're writing, feel free to give us some feedback on what you hear. I'm pretty stoked about what's been coming out so far! images/smilies/smile.gif

For those of you who did like Kris and Alex's set, Kris told me, while crashed on my living room floor, that he hoped to have enough material to play at the June ToS party, and had written 2 songs in the past week. There was also talk of a "fluffier" sound. As for Alex... beats me, he didn't give any updates. Oh well, hopefully we'll hear more from both of them.

You don't have to convince me to do a 2 hour set. I'm all for it. But 2 hours of music is alot to produce in one month. That's like 20 tracks. Somehow I don't see us putting together a track every day. Not good polished ones anyway. So if we play, I would think 60-90 minutes of "in-the-works" music is feasable. Then we'd just get better every time. I have some past work I'm going to try to rework into the current setup though.

We were in the studio tonight, and I'll be there tomorrow...so there won't be a lack of effort!
