i posted a thread titled "what is the WA scene about" and it got locked after four responses because "other similar threads already existed"

my thoughts on the issue follow... id like to hear yours in return...:

if the preexisting thread is active and fresh within a forum, then i agree there is no reason for a new thread.... but people are less inclined to post up their thoughts on a thread that they have already read and responded to multiple times... so having new topics that replace preexisting tired and stale topics is a good thing because they will illicit new responses, especially from newer members who havent had the opportunities to express their opinions on the topic.... and your opinion counts a lot more when you're not in a thread that already has 60 responses....

also, what is wrong with having similar threads in different forums... i checked both pages in this forum for a similar thread to my "whats the WA scene about" thread and i found none.... some people are only active in one forum, some in all forums... different forums= different communities, and each community should address issues regardless of if they are addressed in other communities... different communities= different opinions, and thats what message boards are avenues for anyways, right ?

and please dont lock this post, it has some basis to it, i would like to hear responses from the people within this forum...

p.s. im also wondering if there is some portion of the site dedicated to defining what is considered worthy of moderation, which could be construed as guidelines for posters to post by, and more importantly, guidelines for the moderators to moderate by

you should have read up before you posted this.

theres "forum guidelines" for pretty much every forum... its a thread permanently locked and bumped every so often, usually on the first or second page of the forums. if you want a more detailed description of the rules than whats included in the forum guidelines, email the moderator you have an issue with or email the administrator, kim, intead of starting yet another thread on the board.

peace,
