Hey wassup everybody. My stanton RM-THREE is bleeding sound out of everywhere, so I am looking for Numarks new mixer, its the EM-460 with a built in phrase sampler and kaos pad, it is definately phat. Platinum has it for $599, hoping to find it a little cheaper, if you guys can help me out i would be oh so thankful! I have cash money and DJ equipment for trade. Also got some snowboarding shit to trade (boards, boots, bindings, you name it) If anyone is interested, or can drop me a line where to get it, hook a brother up! Dont be afraid to reply~~

Remember that this mixer is just a ghetto mixer with a kaoss pad added on. (try using it without monkeying with the pad- it sux)
You can purchase a kaoss pad separately from any korg dealer. My advice is to invest in a good mixer with an effect send option and get the kaoss later, when you can afford it.

Joel-
I was kind of thinking that myself, i mean it is just a numark, and as everyone knows numark is not the highest of quality. I was thinking of getting the vestax pmc-270a 3 channel mixer with kill switches and whatnot but i dont know. I think it would go good with my 2 vestax pdx-a1s tables, but it is basically my stanton RM-THREE built better with a vestax name on it. Anyway throw me some ideas everybody, it is definately time to upgrade, and im looking to spend about $800 maybe more, hook a brother up, and thanks for your speedy reply!
If your lookin to spend that much why don't you just pick up a djm-500 or 600,if you really want the built in effects. Or get a Rane.

Except that the models you mention both list for well over a grand. (!) I personally like the looks / feel / performance of the vestax PMC 170 A. I guess it really depends on what style(s) of mixing you do.
i would also suggest that you stay away from the numark, cuz numark = crap. i've mowed through two of those fisher price fuckers. drop some change on a solid mixer with fx sends (i likes me some rane - built like a tank and best soundquality in tha biz... hands down), and buy a kaoss pad separately, this will also give you the flexibility of using different effects modules.

no way over a grand! you can pick up a used 500 in great condition for around 6 or 700, and around $900 for a 600. If you HAVE to buy one new, you'll pay more than a grand, but why buy a new (lesser) mixer, when you can have one that's almost new and is an all around better mixer. I'm with rama though....all about the Rane's, I paid 1,100 for mine (new) and it has never once given me any problems...and with 2 effects loops, what more do you need? Can probly pick up a used mp-22 or 24 for about that price.

yeah i was checking out the DJM-500 and more importantly the 600, platinum has them listed for like $800 for the 500 and $1200 for the 600, i went to ebay and they have the djm-600 for about a grand also. That was my original choice because of all the built in effects, phrase sampler, all the channels, and more importantly its not a throw away mixer. My friend DJ Nomad has a phatty rane mixer and was suggesting i get one of those also. i will go look up the mp-22 and 24 on ebay and the internet and see if i can make the price right, dont stop replying guys i need all the info i can, i cheaped out last time with my stanton rm-3 thinking it would be a good mixer since i dropped about $250 on it, but after 2 crossfaders, i think it is ridiculous. I will never buy another stanton product again unless it is a new cartridge. Keep the posts coming! images/smilies/smile.gif

oh yeah and capt winky - i used to own the vestax pmc 170a mixer, with the phatty chrome faceplate, but it just didnt have all the options i was looking for, no kill switches no nothing, so i "upgraded" or at least at the time thought i upgraded to the stanton RM-3,, boy was i a jackass~!

duude don't get a numark mixer I have the three channell piecer man I've already been through too many xfaders to count and i've only had it about a year
two of my kill switches are broken off.
definatly get the kaos pad separatly, now if I could only convince my partner that he wants that em-460 thing anyhoot i'd get a gemini something good or a vestax anything. if you can't get the djm 500 or 600 and get the kaos pad sep.
peaceout
