Well, we don't have a tool for removing threads from the Calendar as far as I know, so it was either inadvertent, or a bug.
The only way to add something to the Calendar is to create a thread and fill out the form at the bottom. So you'd need to create a new thread for the event, at which point, a mod can merge the old thread's posts with the new one into one thread (and one calendar entry).

there is a way to remove events from the calendar, but i don't remove them unless they are duplicates.

was it showing up previously? if not, you probably just forgot to fill out the calendar info.. that's pretty common...

Yeah, it was on the calendar for probably 3 days or so. Then someone told me they couldn't see my event on the calendar, and sure enough when I looked it was gone.
