Love Parade

I was planning on going to the Love Parade (and will be saving up some cash for it), and want some advice from ya. Places to stay? Cheap airfare? Other tips?

OK I can help you a bit I went to Love parade 96 it was great... the thing I can tell you is Stay away from the huge parties at night find a nice small one. and ask around until you find ppl that have similure music tast and find out which parties and clubs they are going to goto at night,.. I got stuck at Tresor it was big and Smokey. all brick HAd some detroit DJs there and they flled little roomes with lots of smoke and then would have one strob like... I got beat up by all the taller ppl in that room. Also knowing that it was Hitlers tresory was a little wierd for the vibe too. Poor hitler never gueesed that his tressory would be filled with ppl of all races and sexual oriantion dancing. hehe but yeah I hated the club and the ppl at the club were kinda lame too. SO you really should focus when you get there on finding a small underground party. Trust me they do have them and they are great . DO you know German? that will help. Berlin has a rail system but its old and has no air conditioning. (unless they have replaced it) and they push ppl in to fit more ppl since the city is so crowded. When I went I stayed in What used to be East berlin at the time it was mostly knocked down building with some ghettos and a few sprickles of fresh new sky scrapers. it was cheap staying over there but there were skin heads around too. East Berlin isnt the nicest place to be. esp if your turkish. But I really dont know how cheap it is still to stay on the east side anymore or what.. they may have cleaned it up by now. There was so much construction when I was there. The room was big too and had cable which was nice.

I was there last summer...

My one word of advice... get there EARLY!!! not a few hours early, about a day early... with 1.4 million people invading Berlin it gets crazy. Hostels and all that are the way to go, most of them are probably already booked... but good luck finding a place...

the trains and the train stations on the day of and the night before were packed. People were sitting in the aisle ways and all over the place...

its pure INSANITY, but thats why its so GREAT!!!

I was gonna, but it just didnt work... me gonna go in 2001, and hit Ibiza and do everything right!!
