Hey I was just wondering what happened to the Event Webpage that was accessible through the Northwest Raves Main Page. I thought it was very helpful for people like myself, who live far outside the Seattle area to check up on and see what is going on down south. I would like to work on rebuilding the page myself, however, I have zero skills on a computer. I was wondering if there are any plans for bringing the page back and if there are any other sites on the internet simular to the Event Listing Page.
Thanks Jess

what happened was that i couldn't keep up with the hours i was working, school, and keeping the site up to date enough. and i got really upset because some promoters were rather obnoxious.. writing mean emails because i didn't get their information up fast enough for their liking.
so i decided that there needs to be a new system for submitting events.. one where people could submit events and after it was approved it would go on the site right away.
the current system doesn't work too well. a lot of the time people would send me event information with a random subject line like "hey". i get hundreds of emails, so i couldn't always filter out which emails were related to posting an event on the site. so i'd miss putting events up. then people would send me angry letters asking why their event wasn't good enough to be listed when other promoter's were, telling me that i was using my personal bias and that i was a bitch and blahblahblah.. when it actually had nothing to do with that, i just couldn't find their message..
if they sent the message directly off the site, it would come in my box with the subject NWR Event Info, making it easy to sort. but a lot of people didn't.
several people have emailed me saying that
they have time and can code a back-end
version of the site where events could be
posted.. there'd also be a way to organize them by date, city, promoter, etc. hopefully.. so the site will be back, and in a better form, sometime soon.

Kim -
Thanks for your reply. I understand how running the Event Page and the board is a big job.
That sucks about rude promotors and hundreds of emails. I just wanted to say that I thought the page and the board were great when you ran it and thanks.

Um... here's an idea...
Why not make a new section on this, UBB, for event listings?!
I know there is an "Upcoming" section already, but maybe there could be one that was specifically for promoters to post to?
Why hasn't anyone thought of this? Why wouldn't it work?!

i don't see any reason to do that. the new events page is being worked on and should be up shortly.
a listing is more efficient than scrolling through lots of unsortable topic headings..

yah..
plus, hyperreal is completely seperate from kim's site.
kim has her own event listings, which never went down.
