"I don't know something called International Principles. I vow that I'll burn every Palestinian child (that) will be born in this area. The Palestinian woman and child is more dangerous than the man, because the Palestinian child's existence infers that generations will go on, but the man causes limited danger. I vow that if I was just an Israeli civilian and I met a Palestinian I would burn him and I would make him suffer before killing him. With one hit I've killed 750 Palestinians (in Rafah in 1956). I wanted to encourage my soldiers by raping Arabic girls as the Palestinian women is a slave for Jews, and we do whatever we want to her and nobody tells us what we shall do but we tell others what they shall do." --Ariel Sharon, current Prime Minister, In an interview with General Ouze Merham, 1956

This is what American TaxPayer monies support...this mindset and this action. It's sad that so many of you feel so strongly about the rights of a woman, yet we so strongly and openly support this attitude from our President and our close allies.

No More American Money!!

Stop supporting the state of Israel because of a quote. Hahaha. I'm just dissapointed that Sharon isn't a man of his word, and isn't doing what he said he was going to do. Why isn't he out in the streets rounding up Palestinian babies and throwing them into ovens? He vowed to do that, and I am going to lose total respect for the man until he starts doing it.

I'm with Scott...That is messed up. If Dubya or any other politician was to say anything of the sort about us, we'd be enraged. I cannot believe we support anyone that would even have the heart to say that. Stupid Bastard.

Sharon has said a LOT of fucked up things during his time as an Israeli figurehead.
This doesn't surprise me one bit.
But really...This discussion is getting pretty tired.
My only concern now is preventing ANY of my tax dollars and US military equipment from going to EITHER of these fuckers.
But nay...The propoganda machine will keep both sides looking like the helpless victims of each other, and we'll keep pumping them full of money to continue their quarells.

I don't doubt for one moment that Sharon is an egotistical kingpin of a bastard country, but um... I trust that quote about as much as I trust the Star for late breaking news on the end of the world according to Nostradamus. *yawn* I'm with Jesse, this debate is crusty as 5 day old pizza that's been left out.

If it were possible...

Both sides just need to let go of the past and quit fucking with each other. The Palestenians need to stop the suicide bombings. Really, that is total bullshit. Attacking civilians will never accomplish anything militarily or politically. Never. Ever.

Israel needs to stop making life so goddamn hard for every fucking Palestenian in the world. These people are living in mideval conditions because Israel has responded to terror attacks by attacking an entire ethnic group. This needs to stop. This strategy will never work. Ever.

Both sides just need to stop and shake hands. I mean, what the fuck are we really fighting about? Tribal God images? Fuck all that. Lets smoke a phatty and let is go. I'm sorry my ancestors fucked your ancestors in the ass or vice-versa. It shouldn't encompass these people's lives. Life is too short to gripe about crap that went on 1000 years ago.

Chris If that were possible Chris: They wouldn't be bitching about the Holocaust anymore so as to evoke pity. I say "cry me a fuckin river"... that was years ago, it was traumatic and so is the treatment of both sides to each other. You'd think they woulda learned their lesson. Sheesh!

Unfortunately, both sides are basing their vindictions upon issues that are still alive and unresolved.
Since the 6 day war, Israel has kept parts of land allocated for the Palestinian State occupied and continues to build settlements on land that was never meant for them.
Many Palestinians see this as a direct affront to their dignity and sovergnty, and conversely refuse to accept Israel's right to exist as an independant nation. Thus the suicide bombings and state sponsored terrorism.
Then there's the whole Jeruselum issue for them to knaw over even if the settlement contraversy is resolved...
So yeah.
While Palestine might have "started it" with the 6 day war and continues to make the situation worse with the suicide attacks, Isreal's conduct as a supposed "harbinger of democracy and liberty in a world ran by dictators" hardly merit's our support either. The facts show both sides are so caught up in their own forms of propoganda, vengence, horrendous violence and blatent lies that saying you sympathize with one government over the other is ludicrous.

Jesse, I can see your side completely, though suicide bombings against civilians will never accomplish anything. I repeat. Never! :( It has to come back to the table, and until it does, shit will be fucked up.

i am not sure that is something to really evoke pity, its more of a rememberance for a sad time in the history of the hebrews...
its not like many americans are going to forget 9/11 anytime soon.

In a number of discussion forums frequented by educated people, I've seen that Sharon quote completely torn apart and exposed as propaganda.

FYI, Knowing your politics is about knowing your research, not playing "pass it on" with other people's agendas.

Heh...That quote did seem a bit extreme to be believable.
But I have seen footage of Sharon from the 80s where he expressed a real desire to completely wipe out the Palestinian people.
So it's understandable why people would believe a quote like that as possibly being true.
Once again, the propoganda machine rolls on.

Or that the words have been changed around?

Or that it has been "Taken out of context"?

Or is it just an untrue statement that someone made up, because Mr. sharon doesn't really feel that way?

Or is it Propaganda because it is a truth, but pushing a different political agenda then your own?

It is rather amusing that you just dismiss actual words a man says as propaganda because other "Educated" people tell you that is the thing to do.

Is there any chance that these wise folks you refer to have their own agenda?

Does this sound like the kind of thing Mr sharon would say...or even do?

just curious as to your immediate dismissal of documented words as propaganda.

Scott!!
