Its all about the Politics.....The military is stuck in 1960's technology due to contracts. I'm happy to see that it is getting betters toys.

Actually I agree with you. With the army it's the same story. Every company is bitching about what contract needs to be fullfilled before anything different can be obtained.
Case in point: Some Fire Direction Center section managed to obtain a CAT ammo carrier and convert it into a pretty efficient, survivable FDC platform, but then the company that made the CATs bitched and made them disassemble the same vehicle that was praised by the Soldier magazine.
Government Contracting sucks.
