i'm sure the ACLU would be happy to help with a lawsuit.
but why would one hang out in a kmart parking lot anyway? kids
need to be inspired to create & change, not waste in corporate hell

Wow. Pretty goddamn amazing. This is just further proof we're evolving into a police state. None of those people are going to get any satisfaction, and they're going to end up having to pay their kids' fines regardless. Fuck, I'm surprised no one was charged with being a terrorist.

All the dumb white trash kids from the area I grew up in used to hang out in the McDonalds/Kmart parking lot all night long. They would line their trucks all up, pass joints, and blast the same country music in unison.

Now thats just messed up.
I especially like the part about the 10 year old kid getting taken from his father and thrown in Juvi.
And what da hell, its a 24 hour K-Mart and Food place, if you don't want people there don't stay open that late. I mean shit you'd think they would welcome it cause it would be great for business at some of your slowest hours. Gotta love when police over react and no longer listen to reason.

Even in Olympia, where the youth subculture has inspired changes in the arts all over the world, the high schoolers hang out in hoards at the Safeway parking lot all night, blasting country music and buying cigarettes for each other.
It confuses me so much.

Dude, when I was like 13, that was the only cool thing to do in Oak Harbor. Everyone hung out in the KMart parking lot, to smoke and skateboard and just loiter.
ahhhhhh. . . . memories. . .

That is the craziest shit I've ever heard. Fuck that noise!!
Yeah, where i grew up, we hung out in a McDonalds parking lot, cause there really wasn't shit to do, so i kinda see the idea there, but there sure as hell wasn't 400 of us, only like 10 or20, that's just rediculious!!
Oh well, fuck the state of texas right in the ear!!!!-
that's my two cents, now I'm broke

police are scary - especially when they are bored and decide to go look for trouble....That usually means people get in trouble for stupid shit.

Yeah, but if we did that, then some people wouldn't have the fond memory of growing up, hanging out in a parking lot, thinking of something to do, which usaully ended up being a party in the woods witha bonfire and a keg. Those were tha dayz!
Yeah, i think i like life as it is now compared to then!

Thats so incredibly stupid... I see no way that the cops could get away with this one. But then again, everything else is going to hell at the moment, too. Scary shit.
And people hang out in KMart parking lots at night? Wtf? That's really sad that youth have nothing better to do than "rot in corperate hell". Thats a good way to put it, Kim. Ew. Kmart.

... they were ordered to arrest the 278 people there.
Police on Sunday said 425 people were arrested, but Monday revised the count.
How could you mistakenly think you arrested 147 more people than you actualy did? Don't they keep track? You'd think they would intentionaly underestimate the number, seeing as how nobody did anything wrong, and a higher number would only get you in more trouble. Soooo stupid.

These days, it seems that cops are more concerned about busting the smallest offense, other than concentrating on SERIOUS issues that really need to be dealt with, like, maybe the outragious amount of KIDNAPPINGS that are going on. It seems that as soon as one gets solved, another pops up. Maybe if cops did their actual "JOBS" and patrolled neighborhoods, this kind of shit wouldn't happen as often, YA THINK? I dunno, that's all i gotta say for now..-
